Chapter 58. The Vintage Briefcase

Sienna literally didn’t think twice when she agreed on the money deal with a stranger. She felt stupid afterward. She had no idea how much money that he wanted from her. And obviously, she was not as rich as Daniel to be able to give much money to this crazy stranger.
Her feet kept fidgeting on the floor while she kept biting her pinkie finger restlessly.
What if he asked her for a million? Even billion? She kept thinking about how she would obtain the money that she didn’t even have on her account. Moreover, he requested to receive the money in cash. If that was not too crazy, then what it was?
That crazy phone caller didn’t even tell her about his name. He just told her that he was also a mafia, a street fighter, and a hitman. And whatever he did out there, she didn’t give a damn. She just wanted to live peacefully. And she didn’t want that person to hurt her husband for sure.
She was too scared to be able to tell about this problem to Daniel. She thought it would not be safe for Daniel if he found out. That crazy stranger had threatened her to do what he said. And what he wanted was just to receive the money in cash. That meant, she would have to meet him in person to give out the money to him.
She felt tremendously stressed out by just thinking about it. Her mind was too occupied. She needed a break to have a rest. But she knew, that crazy stranger would contact her again to ask for the money. And she would be ready by the time that happened.
“God, please help me, enlighten me,” she muttered to herself while still biting her finger.
Her mind was so stuck on the idea. She didn’t know what to do to obtain the money.
The only way out was for her to ask Daniel for the money. But she would feel like a total hypocrite if she asked him. She had told him earlier not to waste his money for her, and yet, the situation finally happened. But this was not because she wanted to use the money for herself, but for saving Daniel from a crazy stranger that wanted to hurt him.
Sienna had been walking back and forth in her bedroom. She was thinking too deeply about it. But she didn’t know what solution she should seek to overcome the problem.
“Damn it. My head gets kind of hazy!” She muttered emotionally as she crossed her arms.
When someone opened the door, she immediately glanced. It was Daniel. He looked at her while smiling happily.
She quickly changed her expression from panicking to be happy. She didn’t want Daniel to find out what she had been thinking since lunch break, which had ended an hour ago.
But Daniel was an observant person. He could tell there was something off with her. He immediately asked her, “Baby, what are you thinking?”
She blinked nervously. Then she shook her head. “Nothing!”
He looked taken aback when her voice exclaimed out. She almost couldn’t control her fiery emotion at the time, but she still had to hide her anxiety feeling from him.
“I… I mean, nothing’s happened. It’s just… my stomach feels full after the lunch earlier. I just need a break!” She tried to find a solid reason to cover up her anxiousness.
As he approached her, he smiled and said, “So, Baby… I have news for you.”
She got instant goosebumps on her neck. She gulped down her saliva anxiously when he said the word of *news* for her.
“Is it about good news or bad news?” She was being kind of pessimistic.
He giggled when seeing how nervous she was.
After he hugged her and kissed her cheek, then he said, “Of course, it’s all about the good news for you, Baby. I have another surprise coming for you today.”
“Another surprise? Will it be another fancy dress?” She wondered while grinning at him.
“Well, it has something to do with the dresses though, but I assure you, it’s something different than what you will imagine,” he tickled her mind with the mystery.
She pinched her eyes at him. Then she murmured, “Just tell me, what is it?”
“Okay, wait here,” he told her.
Thereafter, he quickly walked out of the bedroom to get something for her. Meanwhile, Sienna was waiting alone in the bedroom. She was feeling kind of nervous at the time.
After a few minutes, Daniel finally returned to the bedroom. Sienna immediately noticed what he carried along. He was bringing a vintage brown briefcase in his hand.
She covered her mouth with her hand almost immediately. Somehow, she could imagine what was inside that briefcase.
“Daniel! What is it, seriously?” She exclaimed alertly to him.
“It’s a surprise,” he said while bringing the briefcase on the bed, then he turned to see her again. “Come on, open it for yourself.”
She approached the bed cautiously. Her heart was pounding faster each time.
“Daniel, I’m nervous now,” she muttered while slightly stealing a glance between him and the briefcase.
“Baby, take it easy,” he murmured. “You’ll find out once you open it.”
Afterward, she bent down toward the bed as she opened the briefcase. Her eyes immediately bulged out once she saw what was being kept inside the briefcase.
She gasped the air, hugely surprised. “Oh, my God! You must be kidding me! Where do you get all of this damn good money? And whose money this belongs to?”
Her eyes didn’t blink as she got tremendously shocked. She saw a lot of paper money inside the briefcase. And those papers were real money. And all in cash.
For a second, Daniel and Sienna exchanged a quiet stare. Sienna was getting bewildered when Daniel only smiled inscrutably at her.
“Daniel! Answer me now!” She exclaimed peevishly.
Afterward, he approached her closer to kiss her cheek again. And finally, he told her, “This is all your money, Baby. It’s a marriage gift from me for you.”
She opened her eyes widely as her heart skipped a beat.
“No, Daniel! I told you not to waste…” but then she paused from mumbling emotionally.
The thought snapped inside her head. She immediately remembered about the money ransom which was being asked by a crazy stranger who called her on the phone earlier.
And then she pushed his shoulder away from her body, making him bewildered.
“What’s wrong, Baby? Don’t you like the money?” Daniel wondered.
Sienna was still quiet for a moment. She was drowned in her own heavy thought.
And then Daniel spoke again, “I have good intention by giving away my money to you. And I’m not being conceited, I still can gain billion each month. You don’t need to worry, Baby.”
“What do you want me to use the money for? This is too much for me,” Sienna muttered while crossing her arms defensively.
He shrugged his shoulders as he murmured, “Anything that you like. You can go shopping and use the money. Or you can start your own fashion boutique in the city.”
She closed her eyes for a second. She couldn’t take this reality for her. It felt overwhelming.
However, she was in the middle of a dilemma about the money ransom at the time. Her mind felt so hectic and she couldn’t think clearly.
“Baby, say something,” Daniel begged her as he caressed her shoulder gently.
And then she opened her eyes to see him again. “Okay, I am grateful for all of your gifts.”
He smiled happily to hear that. And then he kissed her forehead. “You’re welcome, Baby.”
She smiled back at him, but she still tried so hard to hide her anxious feeling.
He was about to walk away, but then he turned to her again to say, “Baby, what about we’re going to have a boat trip together this afternoon?”
She pinched her eyes at him, bewildered. “So suddenly? I thought the sun is too hot in the afternoon. I can burn my skin out there!”
“You can use a sunscreen lotion for protection,” he suggested. “I really want us to go traveling on my new boat. I’ve just bought the type of boat that has a private room. We can have fun together.”
“The view that’s surrounding by water and an island, hmm…” she gave it a thought, and then she nodded agreeably with him. “I think it’s kind of a good idea though.”
“Just kind of? I think it’s going to be perfect for both of us,” he shouted after.
Then Sienna wondered, “Will it be just the two of us? Or will you have your men coming along on the boat?”
“Good question,” he chuckled. “Yeah, since I want to spend the time in the private room with you, I will need my bodyguard to drive the boat for us.”
She smiled. “Okay, then…”
Daniel kissed her lips and said, “Pack your bag, Baby. We’re going to go now.”
