Chapter 4. First Impression (+18)
The warmness that came from his masculine lips gave her a great jolt. Her heart pounded so fast as she paused from breathing. There was a momentary epiphany that snapped the inner of her soul. The feeling was so crazy that she unconsciously closed her eyes again.
It was such a great longing. This dreamy kiss. She felt familiar with the way he opened his mouth and then locked his lips to hers so tightly, pressing the heat into her pinky lips. She felt a slight joy when he repeated the kiss a few times. It was as if she knew the feeling.
She had seen various kissing scenes from movies and serial dramas that she sometimes watched with Estelle. She could only wonder; how the feeling would be like if she was the one who received such a dreamy kiss like those fiction couples.
She had been in a romantic relationship with Jonathan for the past two years. But he never kissed her more than just a light peck on the lips or her forehead sometimes. He was being respectful to her. He didn’t want to do a wild thing that would make him losing her respect.
He once said to her; that kind of stuff would only be applicable if they both got married. And Sienna agreed to what he said. So, thus, they never even touched each other more than just a warm hug and a nice kiss.
But this time, in the neon pub at night, Sienna got that kind of wild kiss for the first time. And she received it from a total stranger.
She knew the difference between a little kiss of peck and a smooch. But this one gave her a much fiery vibrant. It was like he sent her a sexual signal from the way he was kissing her so passionately. He kept pressing her lips like he was about to chew a soft cotton candy.
For a second, she almost forgot where she was standing still. She forgot some people might be watching her across the room. What if the people here made a rumor about it? What if Jonathan was seeing this?
When she regained her senses again, she immediately pushed his shoulders backward. She touched her lips that felt a bit swollen from his kiss. She was breathless.
“What the heck?” She muttered in disbelief.
“It’s my friendly way of greeting a pretty woman,” Daniel said as he smiled at her. His expression looked so calm.
She narrowed her eyebrows peevishly at him. For a moment there, she thought that he just had an issue. He truly thought of his way as a normal thing to do.
She quickly looked around to see if anybody noticed. But the people here were just being busied with dancing and drinking during the wild party. None of them were paying attention at their encounter in the mid-room.
And then she stared back at him. She felt awkward to say anything further. If she argued with him, people would find out what was happening. And if she made a scene, Jonathan would lose his opportunity for the golden gate he was hoping for.
But she already had a bad impression of Daniel Wilson. Something about that man with a jaw that looked as sharp as a knife was just off.
“Sorry, did I surprise you?” Daniel asked hesitantly. She felt bad eventually. “The people in the city tend to do that. It’s just a culture…”
Sienna gave him a bewildered stare for a second. Since when the people here had ever thought that kissing anybody would just be a simple culture? Then a slight thought snapped on her mind like an elastic magnet. She just remembered that Maddie said he came from Romania. Maybe his family had the indifference culture. But he said *the people here*, which confused her.
“I… I think… it’s just weird,” she murmured while kept blinking nervously.
“You seem familiar…” he changed the topic. And he was still looking at her with such intimidating glassy eyes. “Your name is Sienna Moss, right?”
She took a deep breath and murmured, “Right… so…” her eyes looked away to see the arched door in the corner of the room. Then she quickly said, “Goodbye.”
She took a heavy step to avoid him. She walked toward the archway to look for Jonathan. She just didn’t want to deal with him and preferred to get away with it. She didn’t even want to remember about the greeting kiss. It was just too weird for her.
*The passion kiss culture? The normal idea?* She wondered what was very wrong with him.
Then random thoughts hovered on her mind. Was that why many women fell for his charm? If it was so, he surely had a deceptive charm to take advantage of women.
She didn’t care even he looked so handsome like a billboard model on the street. She already felt a quick disgust for him.
She kept looking around to see where Jonathan was. There were a few opened lounge rooms in the pub. When she came to the second room in the passage, she finally found him.
Jonathan was talking with Maddie. They sat together on the red sofa. While Hamuza was observing him, sitting across from both of them. That big guy looked kind of like a black bouncer outside, who was guarding the entrance door. Sienna felt the creeps when seeing his cold face. It was as if he was ready to knock down anyone who would come at him.
She was about to enter the room, but then she realized Daniel had been following her. Before she felt more paranoid, he just walked past her into the room. He didn’t say anything to her. He didn’t even look back at her. She wondered what was with his indifference.
“Mister Jonathan Brown! How is the business going on?” Daniel greeted him.
As Sienna stepped forward into the room, she got bewildered by his sudden friendly attitude toward Jonathan. Sienna was suspicious of his changeable attitude.
When Jonathan saw them coming, he grinned happily. “Oh, Mister Wilson! Hello!” Then he looked at Sienna to ask her to sit along.
Sienna quickly sat beside Jonathan. While Daniel sat beside Maddie and Hamuza.
They had a conversation about business. After knowing Jonathan’s desire to work as a newbie in his company, Daniel smiled. And surprisingly, he gave him an offer as a part-time job to put him to the early test. It would be like an internship.
Of course, Jonathan was so happy to accept the offer. He didn’t expect Daniel would be so easy to give him the deal. Although it was just a test, Jonathan had to seize the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Sienna still cautiously watched his movement toward her boyfriend.
Daniel seemed mysterious. But something about him felt cold and dangerous.
“If you make it good, you can get a stable position and earn a big income,” Maddie added.
“I hope this new part-time job won’t affect your schedule as a school teacher, Mister Brown,” Daniel reminded him. “I respect your profession. But the stock trading thing is on a different level if you want to get involved seriously.”
“Indeed, a strong motivation is needed, Mister Brown. Trading business is tricky,” Hamuza advised him.
However, Jonathan was so excited. He kept raising his voice when talking, “Of course! No worries! I really want this opportunity. I will work hard. I can’t thank you enough, Mister Wilson!”
Sienna herself was not really sure about Daniel’s kindness toward Jonathan. He gave her a bad first impression earlier. He intentionally kissed her lips when no one was looking. She was just hoping that Daniel was sincere about the offer. Jonathan would get so hurt if he didn’t.
Daniel didn’t only act friendly toward Jonathan. This time, he shifted his eyes at Sienna.
He smiled handsomely at her. But she wouldn’t want to fall for his deceptive manner. It was just, he had such a dark charm behind that perfect smile.
Sometimes, when talking with Jonathan, Daniel liked to steal a glance at her. Sienna was well-aware of what he had been doing. But she still tried to figure out what was wrong with him.
Then Daniel asked about her, “Tell me, Miss Sienna, what do you do for a living?”
Sienna was kind of reluctant to answer him. She slightly glanced at her boyfriend to look for support. Jonathan quickly nodded, encourage her to answer him.
“I’m a florist, Mister Wilson. I like decorating pretty bouquets. Not so much glamour like what you guys do in a skyscraper building, huh?” Sienna said firmly. She didn’t leave a friendly space for him. She put a high wall, so he wouldn’t cross it.
Jonathan pretended to clear his throat when Sienna sounded kind of sarcastic. He quietly alerted her to be nice. While Daniel only smiled at them. He didn’t take her sarcasm into his heart.
Then Daniel said, “And congratulation on your future engagement…”
Jonathan scratched his hair, a little shy when he mentioned it.
Before they went home that night, Jonathan shouted after, “Thank you, Mister Wilson! Sure, we will have a big plan for our future!"
