Chapter 35. The Forgotten Nightmare

There were dreams she had long forgotten. But those were not sweet dreams. Those were nightmares. The terrible ones that she ever had in her entire life.
*Sienna Moss didn’t remember who she was.* She had no idea of the life she used to have. The ones that full of sweetness and bitterness in her life. If only she could remember her own buried memories, everything would not be the same anymore.
When the nightmares came to haunt her soul again, she started sleeping restlessly. She was sweating her skin and feeling uncomfortable.
In her dream, she was struggling to fight for her life. But death was only at the edge of her sight. She would know when her time finally came. But she didn’t want to. She would want to survive. She wanted to be alive again.
She was struggling to reach out for the surface. But the wild water kept dragging her down on her weight. She was out of breath. It was hard for her to keep her balance well when she couldn’t swim at all.
“PLEASE… HELP ME!” She shouted out, tremendously terrified for her life.
But the vision of the dream was so vivid. She felt it was so real. She was there. She was about to drown deep into the sea. And the weight of her body made her drowned even more.
“PLEASE… OH… I DON’T WANT TO DIE!” She screamed out for help. And then she thought to herself; she was still so young to die like this. How could she suddenly die? She didn’t want that to happen.
Soon, she found her body bumped into the edge of the boat. And when she stared up to see who was there on the boat, she saw a hand was trying to reach out for her.
“HELP ME!” She screamed out again. She got panicked when her legs started to feel cram.
There was a voice. A strong manly voice that kept calling out to reach her on the surface. She struggled to touch his hand, but half of her body already felt numb. She couldn’t move.
She had such a bad dream where she was drowning in a wild sea. And there was only one man that tried to help her out of it. But he also struggled up there.
She heard his voice vaguely at first until she heard him calling out for one name that made her heart skipped a beat.
“CARMELIA!” He called out and stared at her. “TAKE MY HAND! NOW!”
But she couldn’t see his face clearly. But his voice and his figure looked so familiar. Her heart was pounding restlessly each time. Everything was just so blurry that she couldn’t tell for sure. She got frightened.
And then suddenly, once she got drown deeper into the sea, she lost her sight. Once everything was turned into a complete black hole, she woke up again. She surprised when seeing the alarm from the monitor machine beside her kept on ringing alertly.
“Where… where am I? Please… somebody helps me,” she muttered, terrified.
The nurses and the doctors looked so busy that they didn’t realize she had woken up. And then she noticed the room looked like an emergency room. She was in a hospital. And she recognized this was the local hospital in New York.
When she was about to scream for help again, she saw Aunty Milla came to her.
“Oh, my God! Sienna! I know you’re alive!” She looked so sad and worried for her. “You have a severe coma, darling.”
Sienna blinked anxiously at her, feeling confused. “Aunty?”
And then she woke up. This time in the real world. She was all sweating hard and feeling so uncomfortable.
As she opened her eyes carefully, she already found herself laying on her own bed. She was safe in her own bedroom.
“Damn it…” she muttered peevishly as she brushed off her sweat on her forehead. “It’s just a dream…”
She could feel her breath that was out of control. It felt like she really drowned in the sea.
And then the door was opened. It was Estelle. She came bringing her with a tray of warm food and drink.
“Estelle, thank you,” she murmured weakly.
“Wow, look at that. You’re sweating badly, Cuz,” Estelle noticed. And then she quickly put down the tray on the table next to the bed.
“I… I think I have a nightmare,” Sienna sighed.
“Sienna, you need to calm yourself. We will discuss what happened to you soon,” Estelle reminded her gently as she sat down at the edge of her bed.
Sienna took a deep breath as she stared back at her cousin.
“If you don’t want to tell us about the details, for now, it’s okay…” Estelle said considerately. “But I just want you to know that you always have our support.”
Sienna forced a smile as she said back, “Thank you for your understanding, Estelle.”
“How do you feel?” Estelle asked caringly.
“I feel just… okay,” Sienna said weakly. And then she stared firmly at her and said again, “About the problem; I will tell you everything. I will tell you now.”
Estelle immediately looked alert after she said that. Then she quickly sat closer to her and said, “Okay, I will listen.”
Sienna sat on the bed. And then she told her carefully, “I’m not lying to anybody about me being kidnapped by a mafia.”
Estelle nodded. “Okay.”
“But you can’t ever tell your mom about this detail I’m about to tell you, alright?” Sienna warned her firmly.
Estelle pinched her eyes, baffled. “Sienna, come on. What you have to hide from my mom? If you are in danger, we all have to know…”
“Yeah, but this has something to do with Jonathan’s future,” she snapped. “I care about Jonathan’s reputation and everything for him.”
Estelle shook her head, confused. “What do you mean?”
“The mafia is…” She licked her lips a few times. Sienna was a bit nervous to tell her. “His name is… Daniel…”
“Oh, my God! So, that’s true!” Estelle immediately shouted after.
Sienna bulged her eyes out, surprised. “What?”
“I kind of eavesdropped your boyfriend talking to my mama,” she said, feeling a little bit uneasy about it. She felt sorry for Sienna anyway.
Sienna narrowed her eyebrows suspiciously. “Jonathan? What did he say to Aunty Milla?”
“The most wanted bachelor of the year, Daniel Wilson, the owner of the Wilson Enterprises…” Estelle said energizingly, “that he was the one that kidnapped you.”
“Gosh! He has such a big mouth!” Sienna felt pissed off. “I told him to shut it.”
“Hey, you should be grateful that Jonathan saved you! And he had to tell my mom all about it anyway, so we can protect you from that handsome billionaire!” Estelle muttered, annoyed.
“For God’s sake, Estelle, seriously? A handsome billionaire?” Sienna looked at her peevishly. “How could you take this matter lightly? This is certainly not funny! He kidnapped me and did something…” and she paused for a second, feeling gawky, “terrible.”
“He did what?” Estelle wondered. “Sienna! Seriously! I still couldn’t believe if he ever did something terrible to you.”
“That’s the truth about him!” Sienna snarled back. “Daniel is a pervert psycho! He kidnapped me and he raped me!”
Estelle was immediately taken aback by her sudden confession. She looked at her closely and asked, “He raped you?”
Sienna looked away from her. And then she murmured weakly, “Yes, he did. I lost my fricking pure virginity to him.”
Estelle covered her gawking mouth with a hand. She was hugely surprised by her tragedy.
“Sienna, oh, my… I feel sorry for you. He is a fricking… pain in the arse!” Estelle muttered.
Sienna nodded agreeably. “At first, I couldn’t believe it either, you know? That he is capable of being such a cruel person. And he forced me to remember about the memories that I don’t even have about him.”
“Like what?” Estelle wondered.
“He said that I was his lost wife. Isn’t that crazy? He sounds like a complete lunatic,” Sienna muttered. “And I think I just saw him in my bad dream again.”
“You have that same nightmare again?” Estelle asked considerately.
Sienna immediately stared bewilderingly at her. “Yeah, I did. I was drowning in the sea. And a man that looks like him trying to reach out to me. I even remember he called me Carmelia instead of my real name.”
“Wow, wait a minute,” Estelle looked surprised. “I think what just happened to you during the weekend had triggered your forgotten dream.”
Sienna narrowed her eyebrows at her, baffled.
“I remember my mom used to tell me about your severe accident that put you into a coma,” Estelle told her carefully. “But unfortunately, I wasn’t there with you. I was attending high school back then in town. So, I didn’t know much about your problem in the past.”
“Yeah, sure, you had heard that about my tragedy,” Sienna muttered as she rested her hand on her forehead for a second.
“I think we should tell my mother about your nightmare,” Estelle looked worried.
“Please, don’t be noisy, Estelle. You know how annoying your mom is,” Sienna warned her. “She will not be such a good help anyway. She’s just going to admonish me.”
Estelle shook her head and snapped, “You don’t know how much she’s actually worried for you, Sienna.”
Sienna instantly pinched her eyes at her, bewildered.
“My mom said that your nightmare is worse than you can ever imagine,” Estelle spoke with the horror in her eyes. “Trust me, my mom knows more than you know yourself.”
