Chapter 87. A Wicked Plan
It was the best thing that Sienna could do to protect Jonathan. But this time, she had a different reason why she had to end her relationship with him for sure.
There was a little sparkle inside her heart, where she saved it for Daniel. She got married to him nine years ago. Half of her heart belonged to Daniel.
Earlier in her flower shop, Jonathan couldn’t even look at her straight in the eyes. Sienna felt guilty for breaking up with him. But she had to do it before everything turned to be much more complicated in the coming future.
“Everything’s going to be okay,” Cora kept comforting her. “You can make it through.”
Sienna smiled bitterly at her. “I hope I can get through this.”
“Of course, you can. You are a tough girl,” Cora said as she punched his shoulder lightly.
Sienna took a deep breath and muttered sadly, “But I feel insane when I have to break up with Jonathan. My life was all planned up when I met him.”
Cora narrowed her eyebrows. At the same time, she felt the sympathy toward Sienna.
“We had talked a lot about our engagement party. We were about to be fiancé to each other. And he had told me that he wanted to marry me after that,” Sienna said sadly. “But now, everything has changed.”
“Life is all about moving on. You have to keep going. You can’t be stuck in the past forever,” Cora said, encouraging her.
“I agree, but my feeling, I feel uncomfortable now,” Sienna muttered. “I hurt Jonathan. And I also hurt Daniel. It was all because of my fault.”
“Come on, Sienna. Look at the bright side now. You have regained your memories. You are still Daniel’s wife. And luckily, he still loves you until now, right?”
Sienna pursed her lips outward for a second. She felt anxious from the inside.
“He still loves you, right?” Cora rephrased her question again. She was really curious.
While arranging the flowers at the desk, Sienna slightly glanced at her and said, “I don’t know. Maybe. I can’t tell if he is just obsessing to have me at his side or he really does love me.”
“Oh, God, that’s terrifying,” Cora muttered.
“Yeah, you bet,” Sienna chuckled out.
“That’s obsessive-compulsive behavior is a bad side of being a dangerous mafia, huh?” Cora murmured wittily.
“Sometimes, I feel I’m not safe with him. He has enemies out there,” Sienna muttered as she kept the flowers inside the glass vase.
Cora tried to contemplate what she just said.
At the same time, Sienna said, “But what about Jonathan? He just left like that. I don’t feel easy about hurting him.”
“Jonathan has to accept the truth that you get married to Daniel. I know, the coincidence that the three of you connected gave me goosebumps as well,” Cora muttered.
“Jonathan met him in the pub. It was all related to the stock trading business. And then he got the job from Daniel. But Jonathan already resigned from his office recently,” Sienna said.
There were only a few customers who came to buy flowers in the afternoon. At the time, Aunty Milla just walked out from the terrace house. She was surprised to see Sienna at home.
“Oh, my God! Why I didn’t know you are home, pretty darling?” Aunty Milla shouted out as she walked toward the flower shop at the garage.
Sienna immediately waved at her. “Hey, Aunt, how are you today? I have been home since this morning. I miss my flower shop.”
“I am feeling just fine today,” Aunty Milla smiled friendly at her. And then she glanced at Cora, who was helping Sienna at the desk. “And here is your new employee, huh?”
“Cora is also my best friend, remember?” Sienna reminded her aunt. “I ask her to help me here.”
Cora waved at her as well and shouted out, “Hey, Aunty Milla. Nice to meet you again.”
Aunty Milla smiled. “Hello, Cora.”
Afterward, she turned to see Sienna again and said, “Hey, Sienna, remember our last conversation on the phone yesterday? We have to talk about it again.”
Cora stole a glance curiously at them. While Sienna stared cautiously at her aunt.
And then Sienna said, “Not now, Aunt.”
“Sienna, it’s important. We have to talk privately now,” Aunty Milla demanded.
Sienna glanced at Cora and nodded her chin. “I’ll be back in a minute, okay?”
Cora smiled. “Take your time, Sienna. I’ll be fine handling this by myself.”
Afterward, Sienna went with Aunty Milla to talk on the terrace.
As soon as they sat down at the bench, Aunty Milla said carefully, “About Daniel…”
Sienna sighed and shouted out, “I remember him. Daniel is my husband. I wonder why did you keep it hidden from me?”
“The only memory you couldn’t recall was him. It was because…” but then she paused to lick her pinkish lips. She looked nervous to tell her further.
“Come on, Aunt. I need the truth to enlighten me. I feel like I’ve been living in the dark for too long. And now, it’s time to get out from the cave,” Sienna said firmly.
Aunty Milla nodded. Then she said, “It was intentional. I asked the doctor who was in charge of you to make you forgot.”
Sienna instantly narrowed her eyebrows. She couldn’t understand what her aunt meant.
Aunty Milla looked frightened to confess to her about it. “I didn’t want you to have those memories of meeting him. Daniel is… simply a dangerous being. So, I asked the doctor to give you an electric shock therapy.”
Sienna chuckled out. “Gosh, Aunt, are you even telling me the truth now? Or are you just too afraid that I know your secret with him?”
“You have already known my dark secret with him,” her aunt snapped peevishly.
“Yeah, that’s because Daniel told me by himself,” for a second, Sienna peeped back and forth at the entrance door to make sure nobody passing by. And then she muttered, “that you both had a one-night stand.”
Aunty Milla said, “Okay, I admit, I was jealous that you get married to him. That you have a life that I wanted with him. But I do really care for you as your aunt, Sienna.”
For a moment, Sienna stayed quiet. She tried to read her aunt’s emotional state at the time. Aunty Milla seemed so anxious to have this conversation, although she was the one to ask her to discuss this matter.
“Are you still contacting him?” Aunty Milla wondered.
Sienna chuckled. “Yeah, why?”
“Come on, Sienna. Give it up. Pretend like you never get married to him,” Aunty Milla encouraged her. “It’s too dangerous for your life. And don’t you ever think about your dad’s life as well? Estelle? And then me?”
When Aunty Milla reminded her, Sienna gulped down her saliva anxiously. Somehow, her aunt was right on the point when telling her how dangerous Daniel could be. She already had a wild experience to witness how bad Daniel’s temperamental was.
Then Sienna said, “But, Aunty, I’m doing this to save you all. If I run away from him…”
Aunty Milla immediately cut her off, “Just leave him, Sienna. You’re wasting your time.”
Sienna shook her head. She was in a huge dilemma when her aunt kept on confronting her like this. And she knew that her aunt was right about this one.
“By the way, I have a plan,” Aunty Milla murmured. “Grigori’s cousin contacted me two months ago. But he was just another loser like Grigori though, he got caught by Daniel’s minions and thrown in jail.”
“Aleksei Igor?” Sienna murmured.
Aunty Milla bulged her eyes out when Sienna could mention his name accurately.
“Yeah, how did you know?” Aunty Milla wondered.
“Daniel told me yesterday when I asked about Grigori’s whereabout,” Sienna said.
Aunty Milla chuckled cynically. “Those men will be no use for me when they are in jail. So, I have a better idea now.”
“Wait, what were you planning with Aleksei before he got caught?” Sienna wondered.
“We wanted to destroy Daniel, of course. We wanted to get his money,” Aunty Milla said as she crossed her arms defensively. “And now, my plan is you, Sienna.”
Sienna pinched her eyes bewilderingly. “Me? How?”
“I still have my cold-blooded vengeance toward that man. I just feel like I want justice,” Aunty Milla muttered firmly.
“Aunt! Don’t! You know how dangerous it will be,” Sienna warned her.
“My plan will be successful if you can help me, Sienna,” her aunt told her.
Sienna shook her head. “I can’t do this to him.”
“Tell me you’re not crazy in love with him? He kidnapped you! And he did terrible things to you! Didn’t you remember?” Aunty Milla muttered peevishly.
“Aunt, just don’t. Trust me. I know Daniel. He is smarter than us,” Sienna warned her.
“But you can be smarter than him if you live in his house,” Aunty Milla smiled mischievously. “I just want you to steal his money. It’s my plan.”
Sienna was terrified by her aunt’s wicked plan. Daniel was a mafia with great power. How could they beat him up?
“We can be doomed, Aunt. It will be game over before we even know it,” Sienna said pessimistically.
“Try, Sienna. You don’t want to be his puppeteer forever,” her aunt tried to enlighten her. “And I’m sure he doesn’t in love with you. He just treats you like his damn property.”
The last words hit her head so badly. Was it the truth? Did Daniel only treat her like a mere property?
Sometimes, Sienna felt that way. And maybe her aunt was right about this. But she couldn’t discuss this anymore with her aunt. And soon, she walked away.
