Chapter 84. A Bitter Confession
Daniel had a hard time processing what he just saw. And then he wondered, “This is your aunt?”
“Yes, this is my aunt. Grigori said that my aunt was involved with the incident nine years ago,” Sienna said frustratedly. “But I don’t know if that’s the truth or not. I haven’t confirmed it with my aunt yet. I have just regained my memories about the incident anyway.”
He looked at her eyes deeply and paused for a second.
Sienna pinched her eyes bafflingly when Daniel kept giving her a disbelief stare.
“What’s wrong, Daniel?” She wondered.
He flinched and shook his head.
But then his voice sounded weak, “Baby…”
Sienna furrowed her eyebrows at him, bewildered. “What? Tell me.”
He gulped down his saliva for a second. He seemed tensed about something. But he still didn’t tell her about what he was thinking at the time.
And then he just grabbed her jaw and kissed her lips.
“I love you,” he whispered. “You will always be my girl.”
She looked at him, bewildered.
He murmured again, “My only girl.”
She chuckled. “Daniel, what is it? There is something that bothers your mind, right?”
He still kept quiet. Then he stared away from her.
She quickly added, “I can tell. I can feel you.”
Afterward, he took a deep breath for a while to calm himself. He would need time to process everything. From the moment Sienna regained her memories to the photo of that woman who turned out to be his wife’s aunt.
As he sat and laid back on the bed, his eyes gazed out at the bedroom’s ceiling quietly.
Sienna followed to lay down beside him. She watched him carefully.
And then suddenly, Sienna confronted him, “Do you recognize my aunt in the photo?”
He turned to see her and flinched. His mouth half-turned upward awkwardly.
“You’re behaving strangely like this. I am confused,” Sienna muttered peevishly.
Then he went to kiss her lips again and said, “Baby, I am just so happy that you finally remember me as your husband now.”
“And what? Why are you quiet?” Sienna confronted him again.
Daniel sighed heavily as he looked away from her. “I am just…”
“Just what?” Sienna shouted out impatiently.
Then he finally turned to see her solemnly and said, “The photo of your aunt. I know her.”
Sienna immediately sat straight on the bed as she stared firmly at him. Her eyes half bulged out, surprised.
“That would make sense! There must be some kind of a connection between those Russian men and my aunt!” Sienna shouted out energetically. She couldn’t wait to learn about the circumstance between them all.
For a second, Daniel rubbed his forehead frustratedly. Sienna got more suspicious of his movement. He didn’t seem fine when they talked about this.
“Are you hiding something from me, Daniel?” Sienna confronted him once again. She really needed to know this secret about her aunt. She needed to know how her aunt was involved with the mafia gangsters like these people.
And then Daniel suddenly said, “We have all the time in the world to talk about this. But I’m just not in the mood right now.”
“What? No! I want to know right now!” Sienna snarled out peevishly.
As he paused to look at her, he finally spilled the bean, “Alright, you want the truth, huh? I had a one-night stand with that woman. I remember her name. Milla Moss…”
Sienna instantly gawked once Daniel confessed to her bluntly.
And at the same time Daniel mentioned the name of that woman, he froze for a second.
“Wait a minute, Milla Moss…” he muttered while contemplating it. “Moss, that’s also your surname. Oh, God…”
Sienna blinked bewilderingly. “What?”
“How could I miss it? Sienna Moss. Milla Moss,” he muttered in disbelief. He rubbed his face for a second, trying to calm his raging temper at the moment.
Sienna touched his shoulder softly and murmured, “Daniel… what’s wrong?”
He looked at her again with his sharp eyes. And then he muttered, “You didn’t tell me your real name when we first met. You told me that your name was Carmelia Rosewood.”
She gulped down her saliva nervously when Daniel recalled his memories from the past. And that was the truth, she faked her name for a reason she couldn’t tell him at the time.
“Why were you lying to me about your name? And you didn’t even want me to get to know your family. You were secretive about your identity,” Daniel muttered in disbelief.
Sienna slowly took her hand away from his shoulder. She felt terrified about having this conversation with him.
And then he said, “Gosh, how could I miss all things so much. I was so madly in love with you. I lost it all. My sight. My smell. Everything. I didn’t even bother to trace down your fake name…”
Sienna stared down on the bedsheet. She couldn’t even argue back. She knew she was wrong in the past for lying to him. She was just frightened to get married to him. She was afraid if her family wouldn’t approve of him.
“I… I was also crazy in love with you. I was scared if my family wouldn’t accept you,” Sienna muttered.
Daniel glanced at her again, giving her a deep stare that made her flinched. She couldn’t tell if that was his angry look or he was just trying to look mad.
“I knew it. Something was off with you when you were gone after the incident. I couldn’t trace you down anywhere. That was because your name was not Carmelia Rosewood,” he muttered, feeling stressed out.
She could feel his deep sadness when he said it all to her. She felt scared for her life at the time.
“Daniel, I’m sorry…” she whispered as she reached out for his arm.
He didn’t move at all. He was still quiet.
And then, all of a sudden, she recalled what Daniel said about her aunt. She was still shocked after she heard the truth from him.
She couldn’t move her body at all. She felt like she lost her senses.
“And about my aunt, how… how could you have a one-night stand with her? How did it happen, Daniel?” Sienna asked bitterly to him.
Daniel answered without staring back at her, “I met her before I met you.”
Sienna looked at him from aside, he tried to hide his sad expression from her. She could feel him drowning into his deepest abyss. And it was all her fault. She knew it for sure.
He added, “I met Milla in the night pub. She seduced me. And then we slept together.”
“What…” Sienna was speechless to learn about this. How could this happen? She felt tremendously flustered and shocked.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself in this conversation.
This confession was bitter for her to hear. She was not ready. And she would never be ready to accept the reality that happened in her life.
And finally, Daniel turned to look at her for a moment. He clenched his teeth and closed his lips tightly. His jaw was strong and sharp. And his eyes stared out solemnly at her like a hawk.
“Daniel… how could this happen? My aunt. You slept with her in the past. She’s my family, for God’s sake…” she muttered sadly.
“But I love you. I don’t love her,” he emphasized every word he said to her.
“How many times did you sleep with her?” She wondered.
He narrowed his eyebrows in disbelief with the question she gave to him.
“I want to know. Just answer me,” Sienna confronted him bravely.
He blinked. He didn’t seem comfortable telling her about this one.
But eventually, he told her, “I only spent a month or two with Milla. I don’t really remember.”
Sienna sighed heavily and shook her head peevishly.
When he noticed her annoyance toward him, and then he tried to tell her softly, “Baby, I didn’t mean to hurt you by saying all this. I’m in love with you. But you want the truth. I’m just answering your curiosity.”
Sienna clenched her teeth emotionally. Then she snapped out, “Yes, I want to hear your truth, Daniel.”
“I slept with many women before I met you. I didn’t count how many women that had slept with me back then,” he said bitterly.
“Why?” Sienna wondered.
He chuckled at her and shouted back, “Seriously? Are we going to discuss this all night long? And you ask me why?”
She nodded like an innocent little girl who wanted to hear all the answers.
“Alright, I tell you, Baby. I am an adult man. I get aroused all the time. I need to escape. I need a woman to heal my frustration. Don’t you get it?” He said firmly to her.
“And you slept with my aunt. That’s disgusting!” Sienna barked out resentfully.
Daniel clenched his teeth, annoyed. He got enough of this uncomfortable conversation with her. Thereafter, he said, “Can we talk about this tomorrow morning? I need to sleep now.”
Sienna immediately laid back on the bed, positioning her body oppositely from him.
“Baby, I love you. I just don’t want to fight with you, okay?” He whispered behind her back.
She ignored him and closed her eyes.
And then he kissed her shoulder quietly.
