Chapter 49. The Wedding Party
In the middle of the third month, during the summer holiday, the wedding party was finally held.
Sienna kept smiling excitedly as she saw her reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a white gown and her hair was pinned up as a perfect bun. Then she turned around to see her back which was covered with a white lace veil.
“You look so beautiful, Sienna. I’m about to cry, oh!” Cora shouted out while watching her from behind.
Sienna hurriedly glanced at her and snapped, “Shush! Lower your voice down!”
Cora quickly covered her mouth.
Sienna sighed, annoyed. “My name is not Sienna when I’m here. Remember that.”
“Oops, my bad. It’s been a habit though,” Cora muttered.
Thereafter, Cora approached her closer and said, “Alright, Carmelia, congratulation! You’re finally about to get married to a billionaire man.”
Cora already heard everything; from Daniel’s marriage proposal, first kiss, and the last thing was about Sienna’s fake name.
As they stood side by side in front of the rectangular mirror, Sienna glanced at her and smiled. Then she said, “Thank you for coming here, Cora. And as my only bridesmaid.”
Cora chuckled as she hugged her waist. “Oh, I will miss you so much! You will soon lose your virginity! Gosh, I’m so fricking jealous! I don’t even have a boyfriend yet!”
Sienna quickly brushed off her hands from her body, then she glanced at her bewilderingly, “That doesn’t make sense at all! Why would you be jealous that I will lose my virginity?”
“Because it’s too mainstream to say that I’m jealous of you for marrying a billionaire man!” Cora teased her and giggled.
“Ugh, you’re right. That’s too mainstream,” Sienna muttered as she turned to see the mirror and started to fix her hair a little bit.
Afterward, Cora hurriedly took the bouquet on the table in the room. Then she approached Sienna to give it to her, “Here is your pretty bouquet. You have to make sure to throw it in my direction, alright? Some people believe that it will bring luckiness to the catcher.”
Sienna smiled widely at her and nodded. “Sure, Cora!”
Before a maid came in to call them out, Cora quickly said to her, “Listen to me…”
Sienna stared back wonderingly. “Yeah?”
And then Cora whispered cautiously to her, “You still need to be careful. If Daniel and his family find out that you’re faking your name as Carmelia, they will be so angry at you.”
Sienna sighed heavily. She already knew the consequences since she made up that name.
“I only said this to you because I’m worried. Considering the rumor that the Wilson family is mafia gangster…” Cora looked into her brown eyes deeply while whispering. “You know how it is with the mafias. It just won’t be pretty.”
“Cora, I understand. And please promise me that whatever happens, you can’t tell my parents or my aunt about this secret,” Sienna begged her. “Please keep my secret to your graveyard if you can.”
Cora took a deep breath and blinked fast. “Gosh, you’re scaring me by saying all that.”
Sienna quickly shook her arms and begged her again, “Promise me, please.”
“I promise, happy?” Cora muttered.
Sienna felt relieved. Then she smiled happily at her.
***
Daniel and Sienna finally got married. They held a small celebration party in his mansion, which was located in Vancouver, Canada.
The people who attended their wedding were not many. There were only his maids and his bodyguard, who he just hired last week to work in his mansion.
While Sienna didn’t invite her family because she couldn’t tell them the truth, but Daniel invited his parents to come and celebrate the wedding party together.
His parents really came to give him the blessing. Daniel was right, his parents were not picky and just agreed to whoever Daniel wished to get married to. As long as he could be happy with his future wife, his parents would also feel happy for him.
Sienna stole a glance multiple times at his parents. She wanted to see how they looked like. When she finally could see them standing in the middle of the outdoor, her confidence level suddenly felt kind of dropped.
They looked as charming as Daniel. She somehow felt like she was coming from a very different world from the Wilson family. She slightly compared them to her family, which was just ordinary, not rich, but not too poor either. However, she could never compare the life of her family with Wilson. They clearly looked like the people with great power and influence in the world. They had money and everything they ever wanted if they wished.
When everyone clapped their hands, the wedding ceremony began in outdoor.
Sienna was so nervous to walk toward the altar to meet her future husband. Daniel looked so handsome as always, especially when he wore a black suit and a butterfly tie.
By her side, Cora was escorting her on the red carpet while holding her arms carefully. And then she whispered, “I’m so excited for you. This will be the best day of your whole life.”
Sienna smiled. “Thank you, Cora. But now I’m feeling so nervous.”
“You’ll get there. Trust me,” Cora murmured.
When the pianist and the violinist played the wedding song, Sienna slightly glanced at them. Even they glanced back at her and smiled friendly, something was still missing from her heart. She knew what it was. And somehow, she felt deeply sad about it.
It was the absence of her parents. She had never imagined that on her wedding day, her parents wouldn’t come. She could only imagine that her dad would walk her to the altar. But neither of them came here.
It was all her decision anyway. She knew the consequences of marrying a man in secret like this. She should be prepared for whatever that might be awaited her in the future.
As soon as she arrived at the end of the carpet, Sienna stole a glance at the man who stood in between the altar. Her heart was racing quickly when she saw Daniel’s dad would act like the man who gave the blessing for them both.
Afterward, Daniel took her hand softly. As the wedding vow began, Daniel began to speak, “I, Daniel Wilson, take you, Carmelia Rozewood to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward…”
Sienna spoke in return, “I…” but then her lips trembled as she realized this vow wouldn’t be entirely true because she was dishonest about her name. But everyone was waiting for her to give the vow. She couldn’t make people wondering what happened to her sudden indecisiveness.
And then she spoke nervously when his eyes lingered close to her, “I, Carmelia Rozewood, take you, Daniel Wilson to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward…”
Daniel slightly licked his lip, and then he said, “for better, for worse…”
Sienna continued the vow, “for richer, for poorer…”
“In sickness and in health…” Daniel added.
Soon, they both spoke concurrently, “to love and to cherish, till death do us part.”
And his dad also gave his blessing, “Now, you two are bound together by the vow.”
Then they smiled at each other, filled with happiness as they murmured, “Amen.”
“You may kiss the bride,” his dad said happily.
Daniel smiled at his dad, and then he glanced at Sienna to smile wider.
His hand touched the tip of her jaw. He caressed her skin while his eyes gazed at her pink lips for a second. And then he whispered to her, “I love you, Carmelia. I will love you forever.”
She quickly touched his hand and caressed him gently. “I love you too.”
Thereafter, he bent down closer to kiss her lips.
Soon, everyone clapped their hands cheerfully.
The event was held for some hours in the mansion’s backyard. Everyone was happy to attend their little secret wedding party.
After the slow dancing she had with Daniel during the romantic session, soon, she had to meet his parents properly to have a little talk.
His dad and his mom came to see her in person. They wished her to be good to Daniel. And she nodded obediently at them. What else she could say anyway?
And soon, she heard his dad said, “I’d like to give you two a surprise gift. I hope you will like it once you two see it.”
Sienna hurriedly glanced at Daniel. She wondered what Mister Wilson meant at the time.
And then, Daniel smiled mysteriously at her. She couldn’t hold on any longer not to ask him about it, “Daniel, tell me, what is it?”
“Well, I already give it to Daniel. He will tell after the wedding party is over,” Mister Wilson said and chuckled happily for them.
While his mom rarely talked, she just simply said to them, “Congratulation you both. It’s a pity we can’t meet your parents here. I pray for their health to get better in the future.”
Sienna narrowed her eyebrows perplexingly when his mom said that.
After they left them to dance in the backyard, then Sienna asked him, “What did you tell your mom and dad about my parents?”
Daniel caressed her back to comfort her, then he said, “We can’t be entirely honest to them. My parents will resent me if I tell them the real reason why your parents are not here.”
Sienna flinched. He was right.
Before she could say anything further, suddenly she saw a big man approached them. He was a Nigerian man dressed in a navy-blue suit.
“Good afternoon, Mister Wilson, your boat will be ready in the evening,” he informed.
Siena flickered, baffled. And then she glanced at Daniel wonderingly.
Daniel smiled at her and said, “Meet my new assistant, this is Hamuza Ben.”
“Hello, Ms. Wilson. Congratulation on your wedding with Mister Daniel Wilson,” he spoke friendly at her.
“Hello, Hamuza, thank you…” she grinned nervously at him. But she was still curious about what this man talked about earlier. Then she glanced at Daniel again to ask away, “Why do you need a boat for?”
Daniel chuckled as he murmured, “You’ll soon see it, Baby. It’s a surprise from my dad.”
