Chapter 32. Coming Home
Time had passed by. Around three in the afternoon, after waiting for so long, Sienna finally saw her boyfriend walked into the long corridor. Jonathan had finally arrived at the Vancouver International Airport.
Without thinking twice, Sienna hurriedly came toward him. She threw herself at him and hugged him so tightly. And the last thing she did was crying out loud in his arms. She wanted to let out all of her emotions away. She wanted to feel safe in his embrace.
“You’re safe now, Sienna, my darling, it’s okay…” Jonathan kissed her forehead affectionately. “I’m going to get you home now. Everything’s going to be alright.”
Sienna nodded while still sobbing in his embrace. Her body was trembling from feeling the cold weather while waiting for him outside. And then Jonathan quickly gave away his jacket to warm her body. Thereafter, he went inline to buy the flight tickets for both of them to go home.

After Jonathan had picked her up, the two of them immediately returned to New York. And finally, Sienna could breathe the fresh air that she had been missing once she stepped her foot in the big city of Manhattan.
Although she had gone for three days, she felt like she had been away for almost forever. It was like the time had stopped when she disappeared. She missed her home. She missed sleeping in her bedroom again.
As they went by taxi, Jonathan accompanied her until they arrived at her house again. He didn’t leave her side. He had to make sure that Sienna would be coming home safely.
“You are finally home again, Sienna,” he murmured as they walked in the front yard.
Sienna took a deep breath as she stared at the empty terrace. She was about to meet her family there. She wondered if Estelle or Aunty Milla were missing her during the weekend. She had lost her phone, and thus, she wouldn’t know if they were calling her during the time.
Before she knocked on the front door, she turned to see him again.
For a second, she stared up at his worried face at the time. She smiled and whispered, “Thank you, Jonathan.”
He smiled gawkily at her. “Sienna…”
“Thank you for saving me,” she finished her words. She felt grateful for his kindness. She knew that he really did care for her.
“Don’t thank me. I should be responsible for you. I’m going to be your future husband,” he reminded her. “You know that…”
The moment he said the word of husband, her heart skipped a beat. She immediately recalled the moment she spent with Daniel, the man who insisted that she was his wife. She immediately stared down, looking at her flat shoes for a moment.
“Jonathan, there are a lot of things I have to tell you. About what he did to me,” Sienna said, kind of trembling.
Jonathan immediately grabbed her shoulders to comfort her. “Sienna, please, we can talk about this soon enough after you have a rest at home.”
Sienna nodded agreeably. And then they both walked toward the terrace together.
Her heart was racing anxiously when she was about to knock on the door. She kept on thinking too much about how Estelle and Aunty Milla would greet her in there.
And then she glanced at him again. She had to ask him, “Jonathan, do you think my aunt would be angry with me?”
He flickered. “God, Sienna, why she would be angry with you? Especially that Daniel…”
She gasped the air immediately. She almost forgot to warn him about it.
“Listen, Jonathan. I think we shouldn’t tell Aunty Milla and Estelle about him,” she warned him cautiously. “You know how angry my aunt would be toward you.”
“What? Why, Sienna?” He couldn’t understand her.
“Of course, she would. You’re the reason how I know that dangerous man. Didn’t you remember about your work at the Wilson Enterprises?” She reminded him. “The thing is; I already told them about your new job. They seem to approve of your new job as an intern employee in that mega-corporation. Just imagine if we suddenly told them about this.”
“I still don’t get it. If this is the truth, why should we hide it from your family?” Jonathan confronted her. “And what about your dad, huh?”
Sienna grabbed his arm, pressing his skin as she said, “Please, trust me. This is not only about your reputation that I’m trying to protect, but also our safety from that dangerous mafia.”
Jonathan bulged his eyes out. Of course, he just remembered again who was Daniel Wilson, although it was just a rumor in the air.
“Right, Daniel is a mafia gangster. If your family knows that I’m the one that leads you to him, they would…” Jonathan suddenly felt shivered.
“See? They would hate you. And they would not support our engagement party,” she reminded him.
“Gosh, I almost forgot about our engagement,” he muttered, feeling kind of stressed.
“Don’t call it off. We can fix this all,” Sienna encouraged him. “I’ll be okay soon. I just need more time to comfort myself first.”
Jonathan nodded, although he looked really worried for her wellbeing.
The moment Sienna was about to knock on the front door, Estelle suddenly opened the door. They all exchanged a stare in a huge surprise.
Estelle stood frozenly in front of them and murmured, “Sienna? Jonathan?”
“Estelle, I miss you so much,” Sienna said as she immediately hugged her.
As Estelle returned to hug her, she said, “Oh, my God, me too! I’ve been missing you! And I have left a lot of messages and miss calls on your phone! But you haven’t replied to me yet!”
As Sienna released her embrace from her, she looked at her anxiously.
Then Estelle muttered peevishly to her, “You were so busy, huh? Was the trip to Canada really that great? You should have invited me over! You’re so selfish!”
“Estelle, the truth is…” but she couldn’t say it all. She was still in great shock.
Jonathan immediately took over the conversation. “Estelle, can we let your cousin come inside the house first? She needs to rest.”
Estelle instantly pinched her eyes at him, bewildered. “Are you kidding me?” And then she glanced at her cousin and asked away, “Was the weekend in Canada made you that exhausted?”
Sienna sighed heavily. “I will tell you what happened. Come on, let me come inside first.”
Thereafter, the three of them entered the foyer. There was Aunty Milla in the kitchen. She was making a lemonade drink at the time.
“Sienna!” She quickly shouted out once she saw her arrival. “Look at this selfish girl! Leaving sneakily without me and Estelle for a great trip.”
“I… actually… I” but Sienna was too tired and ashamed to tell them. But she knew there was a little truth that she had to let them know. “It’s not a trip.”
“What are you talking about?” Estelle asked away. “I’ve got your message on Friday. You told me that you wanted to have your own quality time in Canada.”
“Oh, Sienna, come on, it’s not like you’re missing anything in there. Why Canada?” Aunty Milla wondered as she poured the lemonade drink into a glass. “Don’t tell me that you were running away from home because you got bored seeing our faces here.”
Sienna could tell the disapprove expression on her aunt’s face. It seemed that Aunty Milla got pretty angry with her sudden disappearance.
However, Sienna didn’t want them to have the wrong idea about her. And soon, she shouted back, “Whoever that messaged you with my phone number on Friday, it was not me!”
Estella and Aunty Milla quickly glanced bewilderingly at her.
“And then who?” Estelle wondered.
“It’s a mafia,” Jonathan shouted after.
Sienna glanced at him cautiously. But he didn’t know what to say, except in telling them the truth. But at least, he agreed with her in not mentioning the culprit’s name.
“What?” Aunty Milla looked at them in disbelief. “Do you think you live in a drama world? A mafia? Kidnapping you in Canada? For God’s sake…”
“It’s the truth,” Sienna finally said so. “I was not running away from home. I was being kidnapped. He is a dangerous mafia in there. I… I was lost… and my phone… and my purse…”
“That’s right, Sienna had lost her phone and purse. That mafia stole them from her,” Jonathan helped her to explain.
“Look who is bluffing here,” Aunty Milla snapped cynically as she crossed her arms. She didn’t believe them. “You just want to abandon your family here, so you can have a selfish leisure time alone in Canada.”
“Please, Ms. Moss, Sienna is still in shock right now. She needs to rest,” Jonathan said.
Eventually, Aunty Milla didn’t seem to care about Sienna’s wellbeing. She was just so annoying whenever she wanted to point out Sienna’s flaw. But then she was curious, “Who is this mafia you’re talking about? How is it possible that you come across with a mafia?”
Estelle also stared at them, perplexingly.
“It’s just complicated,” Sienna muttered. “I’m too tired to discuss this with you right now.”
“Sienna! How could you not tell me with the details!” Aunty Milla snarled at her.
“I’m sorry, please excuse me. I need to use the bathroom now,” Sienna muttered.
Once Sienna went upstairs, Estelle followed her as well.
When there were only Jonathan and Aunty Milla on the first floor, they exchanged a quiet stare for a moment.
“What is actually happening to her?” Aunty Milla suddenly sounded worried. She acted kind of differently when Sienna was not presence in the room with her.
When Jonathan noticed that, he had the sudden change of mind. And then he walked closer to her to say, “Ms. Moss, I think you need to know the truth.”
Aunty Milla stared bewilderingly at him. “What? Please do tell me, Jonathan. If something is happening to Sienna…”
“It’s part of my fault. I know it is. I hope you can forgive me. I promise that I will take care of Sienna,” he begged her.
Aunty Milla sighed. “Come on, Jonathan, don’t whine at me.”
Jonathan quickly took out his phone from his pocket pants. He was searching for something on his phone. Once he found it, he showed his phone screen to her. He thought that Aunty Milla needed to see it for herself.
And then Jonathan said quietly, “This is the man that kidnapped Sienna.”
