Chapter 88. New Job in New York

During dinner together with the Moss family, Sienna’s dad clapped his glass of water with his spoon. And then he started speaking up cheerfully, “Dear, everyone, thank you for joining this delicious dinner with me. I want to announce the good news to you now…”
Sienna smiled and exchanged a glance with Estelle and Aunty Milla for a second.
“Oh, come on, Patrick. Don’t make us wait to hear more,” Aunty Milla shouted out loud, teasing him.
Patrick giggled and said, “First of all, I declare myself to stay in New York with you guys… well, permanently.”
Estelle immediately clapped her hands happily. While Sienna grinned when she heard that good news from her dad. She was more than happy to welcome him to settle down here.
“And second of all…” he grinned for a second, teasing them.
“What? Dad! Come on!” Sienna exclaimed out impatiently.
He giggled and shouted out, “I’m sure you guys don’t see it coming. I finally get a new job.”
Estelle immediately shouted back curiously, “A new job? In New York?”
“Tell me that you’re serious, Patrick!” Aunty Milla snarled out. “Don’t tease us!”
Patrick gulped down his glass of water and turned to see them again. He paused his lips inward, shook his head, and finally said it all out, “No, I am deathly serious, you guys. I finally get a new job here in New York.”
“Tell us more, Dad! You haven’t said the whole thing!” Sienna demanded him.
Patrick finally announced the whole good news to them, “Alright, I am accepted to work as a senior copywriter at Finance World Magazine.”
Sienna, Estelle, and Aunty Milla bulged their eyes out in a huge surprise after they heard the news from him.
“Finance World Magazine?” Aunty Milla murmured. “It was…”
“Your previous workplace, right, Mom?” Estelle shouted after.
“Right, I used to work there as a copy editor,” Aunty Milla said.
“Wow, what a pleasant surprise, huh?” Sienna murmured while smiling widely.
And then Patrick invited them to raise and toss their glasses with him, “Please, cheer for me, everyone. I am very happy to start my new life in New York with you all.”
“Of course, we are so glad to have you back here at home,” Sienna murmured.
Afterward, they all tossed their glasses of wine happily.

The next day, Sienna woke up early in the morning in her bedroom. She heard her phone was beeping when she opened her eyes.
When she immediately checked who sent her a text message, turned out, it was Daniel.
She knew he would be asking her to come back to him. But she felt too lazy to get up and went to his penthouse. She enjoyed her time here at home with her dad, her niece, and her aunt.
And she was planning to open her flower shop full time. She wanted to resign herself from being a part-time librarian in the city.
However, she already received a reminder from the local library whether she would continue to work there or not. She had not been attending the library for some weeks. Of course, her colleague would look forward to hearing her current news.
But she didn’t have to visit the library to tell them her news. She was settled with her decision. She wanted to resign for sure.
Before she would open Daniel’s text message, she had to write her resignation letter and sent it via email to the local library.
As soon as she was done with the email, and then she opened his text message.

**Daniel Wilson:**
*Baby, come home now. I want you here. No objection. Call me as soon as you read this.*

Sienna took a deep breath after she read his text message. He was so demanding. She felt annoyed every time Daniel talked more like her romantic boss rather than a legitimate husband.
However, she didn’t want to make a devilish mafia get angry at her. She quickly got up from the bed and called his phone number.
After she waited for some seconds, he finally answered her phone call.
Her heart was pounding nervously when she heard his voice again.
*“Baby, Sienna, are you still at your house?”* He asked wonderingly.
“Yeah, I am. Why?” Sienna muttered, annoyed.
*“I assume that you have read my text message when you can call me now,”* he said firmly.
“Daniel…” she sighed heavily, feeling lazy. “I still want to stay here for some days. Or maybe even some weeks.”
*“Are you nuts? Are you planning to leave me or what?”* He immediately sounded defensive.
“No, I don’t have such a plan to leave you,” Sienna said innocently. “I swear to God, Daniel. I just want to stay with my dad and see his condition here.”
*“Your dad will be fine. Isn’t there Milla to take care of him at home?”* Daniel snapped out sarcastically.
“Gosh, you are so annoying,” Sienna muttered peevishly. “So, what if there is my aunt here? I want to take care of my dad by myself.”
Soon, she could hear him clenching his teeth hard. Then he said, *“Don’t be a headstone now, Sienna. You know I have a bad temper.”*
“I know. And so, what if you have a bad temper? The world is not only revolved around you, Daniel!” She shouted back emotionally.
*“Don’t be an arse and just come home now,”* he snapped out. *“Or I will pick you up there by myself. You choose.”*
“You don’t have to be that extreme, Daniel. I can go to your penthouse by myself. But right now, I am just not in the mood!” Sienna barked out on the phone.
And then suddenly, her bedroom door was opened. She almost jumped out of her legs when she saw Aunty Milla stood at the doorsill.
Her whole body felt trembled when Aunty Milla was watching her there.
“Ugh, see you later, okay? I… I have to go now,” Sienna said tremblingly on the phone.
As soon as she hanged up the phone call, she threw out her phone on the bed. Then she turned to see Aunty Milla.
Sienna grinned at her and asked away, “Hey, Aunt, what’s up? Do you need something from me?”
“Sienna, were you…” Aunty Milla pinched her eyes for a second. And then she murmured carefully, “Were you just talking to Daniel on the phone?”
Sienna gasped the air. She got surprised when her aunt mentioned it.
Thereafter, she pretended to clear her throat, and then she said, “Ugh, it was… it was…”
“Oh, come on, Sienna. I know. It was him,” Aunty Milla caught her off guard.
Sienna rubbed his neck for a second. She felt so nervous when her aunt confronted her.
“Yeah, I was talking to him on the phone, Aunt,” Sienna finally admitted.
Aunty Milla then approached her closer. As soon as Aunty Milla stood in front of her in the middle of the bedroom, she said, “Sienna, did you remember what I told you yesterday?”
Sienna flinched.
“Is it about your plan?” Sienna wondered.
Aunty Milla smiled widely and nodded assuredly.
“Oh, God, no, Aunt. It’s too dangerous and crazy,” Sienna muttered.
Aunty Milla started crossing her arms and stared out at Sienna deeply.
Sienna took a deep breath and said firmly, “Don’t make me do this.”
“I helped you out from your trauma. Now, help me out,” Aunty Milla muttered.
“What do you want me to do exactly?” Sienna confronted her.
“Since you will be staying at his place, I want you to find a way to make him give up all of his money and assets for you,” Aunty Milla encouraged her.
“What the heck, Aunt? This plan is too much,” Sienna protested.
“It won’t be too much if you can succeed in this mission. We’re in it together, darling,” Aunty Milla assured her.
Sienna tucked her hair behind her ear. And then her eyes gazed out back and forth around the room. She was feeling helpless to be stuck in this complicated situation.
“I don’t want a drama, Aunt,” Sienna said firmly. “I just want to live peacefully. Maybe I can talk it out with Daniel about divorcing him later. So, you can forget about your revenge.”
“You must be out of your mind. Someone like him won’t let you go easily once he is craving to have you by his side,” Aunty Milla shouted back cynically.
Sienna was well aware of that fact. Daniel was an obsessive-compulsive person. He wouldn’t let her go easily, that was the truth though.
“Look, Aunt, I can’t and I won’t anyway,” Sienna refused her. “My dad is about to start his peaceful life with us in New York. Don’t ruin it for your old vengeance.”
Aunty Milla chuckled out cynically as she snapped back, “My old vengeance? Gosh, Sienna, you have no idea how much I want to destroy that man.”
“That’s why I said, it’s all about your stupid old vengeance. Forget it, Aunt. Your plan can hurt us all here,” Sienna warned her.
Afterward, Sienna left her alone as she walked into the bathroom.
