Chapter 62. The Mysterious Package

*Nowadays.* Sienna still had not recovered from her memory loss. Sienna didn’t even remember that she used to have a secret love affair with a dangerous mafia man. And he was Daniel Wilson.
Only her fraction of dreams and nightmares at night would slowly reveal the truth to her. She could only guess what was the bigger picture of all things that she had been seeing after all this time.
And it was all about love.
A dark passionate love that she had with that man.
The mysterious man in her dream.
And only if she could remember again.
She could only imagine the longing feeling that she had.
And the dark fairytale was all that she could dream on.
But everything was just hazy for her to remember.

A day after she returned to New York again, she had a dream. She was drowning in the cold water. And she was so scared of what would happen next.
And then she had the same dream again the next day. She saw a hand was reaching out for her. She wanted to take his hand, but she was terrified. She heard a gunshot in the air. And her sight got hazier each time as she got drowned.
*“Carmelia! Take my hand!”* The voice was familiar in her ear. She wondered why his manly voice sounded as if she had heard him so many times.
And then she woke up, finding herself showered in sweat.
For a moment, Sienna tried to take a breath. She tried to calm herself as she sat in bed.
Soon, she asked herself, “What is wrong with me?”
Suddenly, Estelle came into her bedroom. She brought a glass of water for her.
“Morning, Sienna,” she greeted her cheerfully as usual.
“Hey, good morning, Estelle,” she murmured weakly.
After Estelle opened the curtain for her, she turned to see her face for a second. She narrowed her eyebrows bafflingly when she noticed the sweat streamed down her face.
“Cuz, look at you. Did you have a nightmare again?” Estelle wondered.
Sienna shrugged her shoulders ignorantly and said, “Maybe.”
Estelle quickly sat on her bed and said, “Gosh, we should help you make an appointment with a doctor soon.”
Sienna pinched her eyes at her. “There is no need to do such a thing. I’ll be fine.”
“Hey! You just got home after being kidnapped by a dangerous mafia out there!” Estelle snarled peevishly at her. She was just so worried about her cousin’s wellbeing. “You need help!”
Sienna sighed heavily. “Yeah, I need help. But I don’t feel like consulting my problem with a therapist or a doctor out there. I just want to be alone in my bedroom.”
“We should talk with my mom. She knows best how to help you,” Estelle convinced her.
“What can your mom actually do to help me?” Sienna chuckled, mocking. “She will admonish me with a bunch of nonsense motivation talk rather than give me some comfort.”
They both went silent for a second.
Then Sienna stared down as she recalled her dream last night.
“Estelle…” she glanced at her carefully, “about the nightmare, it begins clearer in the last two days. I start noticing something in the picture.”
“What is that?” Estelle wondered.
“That mafia. Daniel. He’s in my dream,” Sienna told her. “He keeps popping out of nowhere, showing his presence.”
“What does it mean?” Estelle was confused.
Sienna shook her head. “I have no idea. But I just feel like something is missing from my life. And when he appears, something is filled in me. Don’t you think it’s weird?”
Estelle immediately nodded her chin. “Oh, yeah, that’s so damn weird.”
Sienna chuckled. “Sorry. I know how lunatic I must have sounded.”
“Or maybe you two were soulmates in the past,” Estelle murmured, giving her an idea. “But maybe you two had a toxic relationship. And when you two met in nowadays, you both recognized each other’s soul.”
Sienna pursed her lips while contemplating what Estelle told her. And then she said, “It sounds too much like a fairytale. But do you know what is weirder? He keeps insisting that I am his wife. I didn’t remember I’m marrying anybody before.”
Estelle giggled. “Okay, maybe he is just falling in love too hard with you.”
“Doesn’t mean I forgive him for raping me,” Sienna muttered. “I lost my virginity to him. I feel so dirty now! How can I tell Jonathan about this?”
“Oh, my Gosh, you haven’t told him?” Estelle wondered.
Sienna sighed and shook her head. “I just told him that Daniel kidnapped me. That’s all.”
“What an irony. Jonathan works at his office, the Wilson Enterprises,” Estelle muttered, “and his boss took advantage of you! I can’t believe Daniel is this kind of person!”
Sienna scratched her head, feeling stressed out.
Estelle added, “Daniel seems like a nice guy, although his face on the internet pictures seem a little cold.”
“You don’t know a person’s true color until you really know him,” Sienna muttered.
Estelle nodded agreeably. And then she got up from the bed and shouted cheerfully, “Alright, come on! Get up, Cuz! Take a shower and start a new day now!”
Sienna immediately got up and made up her bed.
“I have to go to the photo studio today,” Estelle told her as she stood at the doorsill.
Sienna looked at her way and smiled big, “Oh, Gosh, congratulation. Do you finally have a stable position there?”
Estelle grinned. “I hope so. The photographer still gives me some freelance jobs for now.”
“Do you want me to go with you?” Sienna offered.
Estelle paused at the doorsill before she walked away. Then she said, “Cuz, you’re still in a huge recovery for your traumatic experience right now. You should be at home.”
Sienna smiled. She felt lucky to have such a nice cousin like her.

After Sienna had taken a shower and changed clothes, she went downstairs to make a warm coffee. It was nine o’clock when she went into the dining room.
Estelle was just receiving a package at the entrance door. After she had signed the package, she went inside.
On the way to the dining room, Estelle muttered, “Look at this envelope. It looks fancy, but at the same time creepy.”
And then she showed Sienna the black envelope tied with a red ribbon. That envelope came with a small brown box package.
“And this box may seem small, but it’s pretty heavy,” Estelle added.
Thereafter, she put down the box on the dining table. While Sienna had just done making a creamy coffee as she sat down with Estelle at the table.
“Which one we should open first?” Estelle wondered.
Sienna shrugged her shoulders. “Whichever.”
“Okay, let’s go for the box first. I wonder why it feels heavy,” Estelle said while opening the box package.
And soon, they saw a small bottle of premium white wine inside the hamper box filled with white ribbons.
“Hmm, nice, isn’t it? This wine looks expensive,” Estelle murmured. “Unfortunately, the sender’s name is not written anywhere. The courier didn’t even know who is this from.”
Sienna pinched her eyes bewilderingly after she drank her coffee.
“And look what we got here…” Estelle put down the bottle of wine and took the black envelope. “It’s a mysterious letter from a mysterious sender.”
Estelle was opening the red ribbon on the envelope. At the same time, Aunty Milla just came out of her bedroom.
“Hey, girls, what are you up to?” Aunty Milla was curious as she saw there was a package on the dining table. And then she saw her daughter was opening an envelope.
“Look, Mom, we’ve got a nice gift and a mysterious letter,” Estelle said as she took out the letter from the black envelope.
“From who?” Aunty Milla wondered as she immediately approached them at the table.
“That’s what we want to know,” Sienna muttered and half-smiled.
Sienna and her aunt carefully watched Estelle opening the folded white paper.
For a second, they wondered why Estelle suddenly froze. Her eyes lingered on the letter nervously. And when she glanced back and forth at them, she murmured, “Ugh, it’s...”
“What is it?” Sienna asked impatiently.
“It’s not good, guys,” Estelle muttered. “This is not a nice gift. This is a threat.”
Aunty Milla bulged her eyes, surprised. “What?”
“Let me see the letter…” Sienna said as she took the letter from Estelle’s hands.
Once she read the letter by herself, her eyes opened wide awake. And Aunty Milla quickly peeped beside her to see the letter.
Then Estelle murmured, “Do you also think what I’m thinking?”
Sienna put down the letter and glanced at her. But she could only gawk numbly.
As Aunty Milla took over the letter to read it closer, then Estelle shouted out, “Do you think it’s the same mafia who kidnapped you who sent this letter to us?”
“Who? Daniel Wilson?” Sienna muttered anxiously.
And then they heard Aunty Milla groaned and said, “Ugh, Gosh, I have goosebumps!”
