Chapter 96. The Sudden Kiss
Around four in the afternoon, after Sienna had taken a shower, she heard the giggling sound downstairs. She wondered who was that. And what was happening at the time?
As soon as she went downstairs to check it out, she saw the familiar face was seen in the living room. It was Nolan Wilson again. She just saw him today at the Finance World Magazine tower when she visited her dad.
She sighed heavily and muttered to herself, “What is going on, huh?”
However, she was so lazy to walk into the living room to greet him and to be friendly. She just didn’t feel like it. She was not in the mood at all. Moreover, she still remembered how awkward it was when he intentionally kissed her cheek in the restaurant’s bathroom that night.
But before she could run upstairs again, she heard Nolan was calling out for her name.
“SIENNA! HELLO!” His voice sounded cheerful as usual.
When she looked back to see him, she noticed Daniel was bulging his eyes out at him.
She obscurely heard Daniel muttered to his cousin, “What the hell did you call my wife?”
On the other side, Nolan only took Daniel lightly, like it didn’t matter at all. It was not a big deal for him to call her daringly by her first name.
As Sienna turned downstairs to approach the two of them, then she shouted out, “Please… I was the one who asked him to call me by my first name, Daniel.”
Afterward, Daniel pinched his eyes in disbelief at her. Then he murmured, “Oh, really?”
Sienna nodded assuredly and said, “Yeah, please don’t start a war with your own cousin.”
“Sienna did ask me to call her by her first name when we spent time in that mega restaurant back then,” Nolan informed him.
However, it was not easy for Daniel to accept the fact. He was still staring at him with such fiery eyes.
Then Sienna quickly changed the topic, “Hello, Nolan, how are you today?”
Nolan chucked out as he hid his hands inside his pocket blue pants. Then he murmured, “I don’t think it’s necessary to ask about my day, don’t you think, Sienna? You already know.”
Sienna blinked anxiously when he teased her. And Daniel kept on giving the two of them a suspicious stare.
And then Sienna chuckled back and said, “Well, I do want to ask you though.”
Nolan grinned and shouted back, “I am fine, thank you. But we already met each other in my office today, huh?”
Sienna flinched when he finally mentioned it in front of Daniel.
Obviously, Daniel glanced at Sienna while bulging his eyes out surprisingly. Then he shouted after, “What? Is that the truth? Did you leave the house?”
Sienna’s lips trembled. Her mouth was half-opened.
Nolan stared back and forth between them, looking bewildered. Then he said, “Oh, so, you didn’t know that your wife was visiting the Finance World Magazine tower during the lunch break? I’m surprised.”
Meanwhile, Daniel didn’t look away from her at all. His eyes looked deeper into her eyes. Then he snapped firmly, “No, I didn’t know. I expect Sienna to tell me though.”
Sienna blinked nervously again. And then she tried to explain to him, “Well, I was… yes, I went outside. I really had to…”
When Daniel’s sharp gaze made her heart skipped a beat, she paused for a second.
And then Nolan pretended to clear his throat and shouted after, “Come on, Daniel. Don’t give your wife a hard time. She just went outside to see her dad, right?”
Sienna immediately nodded. “Yes! Yes! It’s true!”
Daniel narrowed his eyebrows at her. He still looked at her, annoyed.
Then Sienna added, “Today was my dad’s first day working in the Finance World Magazine. So, I wanted to give my support, I…”
But then Nolan cut her off, “Yeah, I saw her being such a good daughter. She brought Mister Patrick Moss with a yummy lunch box.”
Sienna glanced at him, surprised. Nolan was too careless when talking.
“Oh, what was it? A tuna sandwich and a piece of beef bacon, right?” Nolan added again.
Sienna chuckled awkwardly as she nodded at him.
“Yes, I was there to deliver my dad with a lunch box,” Sienna murmured weakly.
“Well, what a surprise, huh? You could just tell me if you really wanted to do that. I could just order my man around,” Daniel said ignorantly.
Sienna took a deep breath. She tried to endure her annoyance every time she saw Daniel’s bossy attitude all over again.
“Speaking about food, I am here to have a free meal,” Nolan said like a little kid.
Daniel and Sienna glanced bewilderingly at him.
When Sienna looked at her wristwatch, she pinched her eyes for a second. Then she turned to see him again and said, “Well, it’s already four p.m. though.”
“Yeah, didn’t you have the maids to cook something?” Nolan wondered as his eyes peeped to the dining room across the living room.
“The maids are only here during the weekend,” Daniel said firmly.
“Ouch, what a pity. But I’m very hungry,” Nolan teased him.
Afterward, Daniel snapped out cynically, “You’re not a beggar. And you have money. So, go out there and pick any restaurant that you want.”
“You are no fun. We rarely met. And yet, you are shooing me away,” Nolan muttered.
Daniel sighed. “Come on, don’t act like we are close to each other. We were never closed since we were still kids, roaming around Romania with our rich parents.”
Nolan giggled. “I like your joke, Brother. But come on…”
When Daniel glanced at Sienna, he saw how soft she was. And he definitely couldn’t treat Nolan badly in front of her.
Therefore, Daniel asked away, “Well, what do you want then?”
Nolan grinned and shouted back, “I want to eat. Here. In your big cozy penthouse. Together with you two.”
“Fine, it’s a little family gathering again,” Sienna smiled. “I can order pizza if you want.”
Thereafter, Nolan nodded happily.
***
It was obvious that Daniel was annoyed at the sudden presence of his cousin here. His arrival was not expected, of course. Daniel was annoyed that Nolan kept on coming and showing up. They had never been closed to each other since they were kids.
Therefore, Daniel was being suspicious of Nolan’s weird behavior. He was suspected that Nolan probably had a little interest in his wife.
On the other side, Sienna didn’t want to think too much about Nolan anymore. She was concerned more about her aunt’s wicked plan. She still had no clue what her aunt would do next.
While Daniel was sitting down in front of her, he didn’t know that she knew about Aunty Milla’s future plan against him. And it was just terribly dangerous.
In the middle of eating the pizza, Hamuza and a few men visited the penthouse. Daniel had to meet them for a while to talk about his business with them.
Therefore, it was only Sienna and Nolan, sitting together at the dining table.
“How is the pizza? Do you like it?” Sienna asked friendly.
Nolan nodded assuredly. “Yeah, sure. I love this.”
Sienna smiled at him. Then she raised from the chair and shouted out, “Alright, so, I will wash the dishes. You can wait here, or if you want to go home…”
Nolan only shrugged his shoulders ignorantly. He said neither yes or no. And Sienna didn’t want to guess what he thought anyway. She was feeling tired already and wanted to go upstairs soon.
And then she went to the kitchen through the arched door. She quickly threw some plates into the dishes and started turning on the sink.
She tried to be quick when washing the dishes. She got too focused and didn’t realize that Nolan was coming behind her.
When she finally felt something warm sneaking behind her, she glanced to check it out. Soon, she got hugely surprised.
His lips landed hot on her cheek again. He teased her mischievously. He did it on purpose.
Sienna gasped the air. Her mouth gawked. She didn’t see him coming behind her. But once she realized what just happened, she bulged her eyes out at him, angrily.
“Nolan! What the hell?” She muttered.
“Hey, come on, take it easy,” Nolan chuckled out.
She had not turned off the sink when she turned to see him standing tall beside her.
And then she rested her hands on her waist. She was ready to confront him.
“What the hell is wrong with you? You shouldn’t kiss me. It’s rude,” she admonished him.
He gawked. He had a hard time forming the words out of his mouth. And once he could arrange the right words, he shouted out, “But it’s just a friendly kiss.”
Sienna narrowed her eyebrows in disbelief at him. “A friendly kiss?”
Nolan nodded with his innocent face. It was so annoying that he didn’t even feel guilty at all about doing this to her.
“Nolan, it’s rude. I am your relative now,” Sienna reminded her.
And then he chuckled out, “It’s just a family kiss. Aren’t we living in the United State of America now?”
“Nolan…” she muttered peevishly. “No!”
But then, all of a sudden, Nolan said with such a solemn tone to her face, “Sienna, you should know the difference between a family kiss and a romantic kiss.”
Sienna pinched her eyes, wondering what was wrong with him.
And then he dragged her hips to meet his torso as he shouted out firmly, “And let me show you, this is the romantic kiss…”
