Chapter 89. The Guy Named Nolan
The following day, Sienna came back to Daniel’s penthouse in The Upper Eastside of Manhattan.
This time, she didn’t see Hamuza anywhere in that big house. Instead, she had to face Daniel’s pouting expression at the entrance door. He had been waiting for her arrival impatiently.
She took a deep breath and tried to find her courage to face him alone.
“Hello, Daniel,” she greeted him first. She tried to sound normal and nice to him. She just didn’t want to wake the angry lion early in the morning.
“Sienna, Baby…” he murmured as he rubbed his hands altogether while greeting her at the doorsill.
She looked at him in the eyes carefully. She tried to read his emotion at the time. He looked like he was enduring his anger toward her. Somehow, she could feel it.
Then she grinned awkwardly and said, “Well, I’m here now.”
He sighed for a second, and then he shouted back, “Well, you are here now. I’m glad that you’ve finally returned to me.”
Sienna raised her eyebrow when he said the last words. She instantly recalled what her aunt said to her the other day.
*“You don’t want to be his puppeteer forever. And I’m sure he doesn’t in love with you. He just treats you like his damn property.”*
Those words that her aunt said to her face were so damn hurtful. The fact was so obvious. And she sometimes felt that way whenever Daniel spoke to her.
Was she just his damn property? She could only wonder since he had such a stupid obsessive-compulsive behavior toward her.
But was it the truth? If Daniel was not in love with her, why would he try to find her for the last nine years? And he was still yearning for her company in his arms.
This was all too complicated when she tried to think deeply about it. And her feeling toward him kind of changing. She could feel it though. She just didn’t feel the same sparkle as when she met him for the first time. Things were changed over time.
“So, will you join me for our yummy breakfast, Baby?” Daniel offered her as he was thrusting his hand to get her suitcase.
“Yummy breakfast? Thanks, I’d like that,” Sienna nodded agreeably.
Daniel smiled back and immediately dragged down her suitcase with him.
As soon as she entered the foyer, she could smell the strong coffee aroma in the air.
“You have prepared the breakfast, Daniel?” She wondered as she walked inside.
He glanced at her and giggled. “Yes. Don’t you forget, I am an independent man, living alone in this big house.”
Sienna smiled awkwardly when he proudly said that about himself. But then she remembered, this was Saturday.
“Hey, you said the maids will be here during the weekend, right?” Sienna wondered.
Once he put her suitcase next to the comfy sofa in the living room, then he glanced at her again and said, “Yes, that’s correct. But it’s still early in the morning. They usually come here around eleven a.m.”
Sienna nodded, understood. And then she came with him to the dining room.
As soon as she approached the dining table, she saw toast bread with strawberries and sweet granulated sugar.
Her eyes opened wide awake with this yummy view in front of her. It had been such a long time she didn’t see bread and coffee being prepared aesthetically on the table.
“Oh, Daniel, are you really preparing all these by yourself?” She was still finding it hard to believe that a man like Daniel could do this by himself.
As Daniel dragged the chair, he giggled and shouted out, “Oh, Baby, you have to live with me for over a century to get to know me more.”
“Well, but you’re not a vampire for living over a century,” Sienna murmured.
Daniel giggled as he tapped the table. “Come on, just sit down with me. I can be your imaginary Romanian vampire for you.”
Sienna slightly bulged her eyes out at him and chuckled out. She didn’t expect him to reply to her dry joke. She was surprised that Daniel could be such a funny man behind his cold look.
“Well, okay then,” Sienna said as she dragged the chair and sat down in front of him.
“Please, enjoy your food, Baby,” he said caringly as he handed over the cup of warm milky coffee to her.
She smiled widely and nodded. “Thank you, Daniel.”
“I thought you have promised to call me Baby,” he reminded her.
She slightly glanced at him and grinned. “Okay, Baby. Thank you for preparing this yummy breakfast for me. I am very happy.”
Daniel felt like he was winning a lottery when Sienna finally agreed to call him Baby.
During breakfast time, Daniel told her, “Baby, my family will have a private social gathering. We have to attend the party this afternoon.”
She flinched. “Your… your family? The Wilson?”
Daniel paused to see her and said, “My parents have not seen you in the past nine years. They didn’t know that you were disappeared nor they knew about your incident.”
“But… but you said they live near this place, right? How did you manage to keep it a secret from them?” Sienna wondered bafflingly.
Daniel leaned back to his chair and sighed. Then he said, “They had been staying in Romania. They only start living here a few months ago when my father gives me his full authority to own the Wilson Enterprises.”
“Oh, God, this is so complicated,” Sienna muttered.
She felt a little bit terrified about meeting with his family after such a long time.
Then she added, “I saw your parents in the business party back then when I was accompanying Jonathan.”
The moment she mentioned her ex-boyfriend's name, Daniel opened his eyes widely at her.
Her lips trembled. “Well, I already broke up with him.”
Daniel pinched his eyes in disbelief. “Really? When?”
“Last week,” Sienna told him.
But Daniel was so quiet afterward. Sienna wondered what he was thinking at the time.
And then she added, “I broke up with him when I was about to visit your place here. I just thought it was for the best.”
“You only did that to protect him from me, huh?” Daniel could read the situation very well.
Sienna held her breath instantly. She felt nervous when Daniel could point out her intention in breaking up with Jonathan.
“Daniel, it’s for the best. I don’t want anyone to get hurt,” Sienna emphasized her words.
“I’m sure he still gets hurt after you broke up with him,” Daniel muttered as he chewed his bread.
“Come on, Daniel. Can we change the topic, please? We were supposed to talk about your family gathering, right?” Sienna reminded him firmly.
The corner of his lips turned upward. Then he said, “Sure, Baby.”

The Wilson family gathering was held around two in the afternoon in Daniel’s parent's house.
Sienna felt relieved this private party wouldn’t force her to wear a fancy gown. She only came in her regular casual clothes. She wore a blue blouse and white jeans. While Daniel wore a shirt and black pants.
The party was attended by everyone in the family. The Wilson was a big family. Most of them just arrived here from Romania.
While mingling with the family, she heard some of them wanted to settle down in New York and started a new life here.
Honestly, Sienna didn’t care. She was terrified to meet these people. The men were mafias. While the women were classy housewives.
She never thought she would mingle with these people for a long time. She didn’t feel like she belonged with them here.
While Daniel was busied talking with some of his male relatives, Sienna needed to go to a bathroom.
As soon as he allowed her to go, she went away to search the bathroom. It took her about five minutes before she returned to the backyard again with them.
But at the time, she accidentally ran into a man. They both fell hard on the terrace floor.
“Oh, damn it!” The man cursed. But when he raised again and saw her laying down on the ground, he immediately thrust his manly hand to her and said. “Are you alright, Miss?”
Sienna stared up to see him in person. When they exchanged a glance at each other, they paused for a second.
Sienna bulged her eyes out when she saw how charming and handsome the man that she ran into. She didn’t expect him to be that good-looking.
“Ugh… I’m fine, thank you,” she muttered as she received his hand and raised from the ground.
“I never see you in the family. Are you one of the Wilson?” He wondered when he observed her face for a moment.
She blinked nervously. “No, I’m not born as the Wilson.”
“Yeah, I know that. Maybe you get married to my relative?” He asked curiously.
She gawked when the question popped out.
But before she was able to answer him, he immediately thrust his hand again for a handshake. As soon as she received his handshake, he said, “My name is Nolan, by the way.”
“Hey, Nolan, it’s nice to meet you. My name is Sienna,” she introduced herself.
He smiled widely at her. And then he quickly glanced at the crowded view in the backyard, where the Wilson family gathered together.
Then he quickly whispered to her, “Shush, don’t tell anybody yet that I have returned.”
Sienna blinked bafflingly at him. “Why? Do you have a secret to keep?”
Nolan giggled. “No, I just want to surprise them.”
Sienna wondered, “Are you their family?”
Nolan gave her a handsome smile and said, “I am the distant relative to the Wilson. But yeah, I’m still their damn family member.”
Afterward, he left her quietly and mysteriously.
