Chapter 9. Sweet Package
Early in the morning, Sienna received a text message from her boyfriend. She was still half asleep when she unlocked her phone.
She noticed the message he sent to her. Jonathan finally got accepted to attend his first day at the Wilson Enterprises. He told her that he would go after the school time ended.
She paused to think for a moment. Should she be happy for him or not?
She agreed about him learning the stock trading business, but working along with Daniel and his people was a big no for her. She kept on having a bad hunch about it. But Jonathan wouldn’t listen anyway.
Maybe if she was just being to the point, Jonathan would realize about it. If she could have the courage to tell him the truth about what happened that night in the party, he wouldn’t have signed the contract agreement with Daniel. She thought it was her fault in the first place.
“Damn it. I should have just told him,” she stroked her messy hair abruptly. “But I would break his heart. Ah, this is so frustrating!”
When she was just about to raise from the bed, she heard a knock on the door.
Estelle appeared behind the door.
“Hey, what’s up?” Sienna wondered at her cousin who kept smiling weirdly.
While holding a phone, Estelle entered the bedroom. Soon, she showed her the phone screen to her, “Look, my photos are here! And my payment will be sent today. I am so happy, Cuz!”
Sienna looked closely at the photos she showed her. The corner of her lips turned upward. She was so happy to see her cousin posed like a pro on those photos.
“Wow, I’m so proud of you, Estelle! You look like a professional model!” She hollered out cheerfully. But then her eyes turned at her firmly. “If this was just a freelance job, have you talked it out again with the photographer? I mean, if he wants to work again with you…”
“Of course, he said there will be more opportunity to come. I just have to wait for it,” Estelle said, full of hope.
Sienna smiled at her and said, “Well, while you’re waiting for him to contact you again. How about you’re helping me in the flower shop today, huh?”
Estelle rolled her eyes at her. “Gosh, that job is so old-fashioned, Cuz. Who would seriously buy your flowers besides our lovely neighbor next door, huh?”
Sienna sighed heavily as she quickly raised from the bed to take the towel. Then she looked at her again to say, “You’re right. It’s old-fashioned. But I’m still earning money from it. And I certainly can pay your bills from it.”
“Ouch, that sarcasm just knocks me in the heart, Cuz,” Estelle chuckled.
“Go away now!” Sienna exclaimed at her. “I have to take a shower!”
After Estelle left her bedroom, Sienna finally went into the bathroom to take a shower.

About an hour later, Sienna was about to walk into the garage, but the bell rang at the front door.
As soon as she opened the door, a delivery man appeared. He brought a package for her.
“Is this Miss Sienna Moss’s private resident?” He asked while slightly reading the address attached on the brown package box that he held.
“Yes, I am Sienna Moss,” she said and watched him well-warily. “What is it, Sir?”
“You’ve got a package from Mister Daniel Wilson,” and then he handed over that medium sized package to Sienna.
She immediately grabbed it carefully in her arms. She blinked bafflingly for a second. Then she murmured, “Well, thank you.”
“Please sign it here,” he gave her a single paper.
After she signed it, he immediately left the porch.
Sienna was left alone with the mysterious package in her arms. She wondered why Daniel would send this to her. And before she could open the package in the dining room, she just received a text message from Jonathan.
**My Boyfriend:**
*Hi, darling, Mister Wilson just sent me a good breakfast. Look at these chocolate waffles. It’s so yummy! Oh, and, he asked for your home address. I hope you didn’t mind that I told him. He said he want to send you these waffles as well.*
Sienna bulged her eyes out. She got surprised after reading his message. How could Jonathan easily give out her home address to him? This was unbelievable.
She quickly opened the box to find the same exact chocolate waffles like the photo Jonathan just sent her earlier.
She had to quickly throw the package outside. If Aunty Milla found out, she could take over the waffles for herself. Yes, and she was just that annoying.
On the other side, Sienna knew how much she felt suspicious of Daniel’s behavior. But when she looked at these yummy waffles, her stomach growled hungrily. She had to smell them carefully before she grabbed a bite.
Jonathan was right, the taste was like heaven. It was yummy.
Daniel was just too kind. He sent two packages of waffles to Jonathan and Sienna. For a second, she tried to contemplate it. What if Jonathan was right, what if Daniel was a nice person?
He was too nice until he had to kiss her as a way to greet her in the party. And of course, that was terrifying for her. But maybe Maddie was also right. He was from Romania, and maybe that was just the way he lived his life. It was just a culture. And she should have been more understanding.
And for a moment, she had a second thought about Daniel that day.
***
The following day, Daniel sent the same special packages again for Jonathan and Sienna. He was just being generous. Sienna started to think positively toward Daniel’s kindness.
She couldn’t be too selfish to indulge in her critical thinking about him. And she slowly fell for Daniel’s offer for buying her a yummy food during lunch break. He always sent her a package to her home address.
Until on the third day, which was Thursday noon, he finally called her on the phone. She knew he got her home address from Jonathan, but did he also ask for her personal phone number this time?
For the past three days, she tried not to think weird about him. It was because he also bought Jonathan the same food as he sent to her. Sienna got baffling all by herself. What did he actually want from her? Was this phone call related to Jonathan’s new job at his company? If it was not, would it be weird to call her? Sienna was just thinking too much again.
“Miss Sienna Moss, I hope I’m not bothering you right now,” Daniel sounded cautious.
Inside her heart, Sienna was muttering all by herself. She was actually annoyed that he insisted to engage with her again. But she remembered when Jonathan told her to be nice.
And thus, she said, “Not at all, Mister Wilson. May I know why are you calling me?”
“I just want to invite you for a lunch together with Mister Brown. Do you mind?” He asked.
She was nervous when he asked her suddenly. “Oh, that’s… well, alright. Where?”
“My man will come to pick you up at your house around eleven o’clock,” he said firmly. His voice slightly sounded cold. “See you soon, Miss Moss.”
She didn’t have a chance to say thank you when he already hanged up the phone call. She wondered what was wrong with him this time. He didn’t even sound friendly on the phone.
When she glanced at the clock on the wall, she just realized his chaperon would arrive in about five minutes. She quickly ran into her bedroom to change her clothes.
***
At eleven o’clock, a black sedan car parked in front of her house. The chaperon was right on time to pick her up. Sienna was so nervous to get inside the car.
She has been text messaging Jonathan on the phone. He assured her that everything was going to be okay. She didn’t have to be worried. He convinced her that Mister Wilson was a great man. He would also be there.
The chaperon looked pretty young, maybe in his early twenty. He wore all black from head to toe. He smiled and welcomed her to get inside the car. She smiled back to him and carefully entered the passenger seat.
After twenty minutes of the car trip, the chaperon informed her that they had arrived in the location. She stared up cautiously at the tall building. This place looked like a five-star hotel. And indeed, it was a mega restaurant in New York City.
She never stepped a foot in this kind of place. She didn’t have the confidence to go on.
Then the chaperon told her that Mister Wilson was waiting for her in the restaurant. When he escorted her to walk to the terrace, Hamuza was there to greet her.
“Miss Sienna Moss, welcome,” he was always looked nice to her, although he had a big body like a bouncer in a night pub. “Come with me now. Mister Wilson is waiting up there.”
Sienna stared back awkwardly at him. She took a deep breath and smiled.
“Wait a minute,” she paused behind him. Hamuza quickly glanced at her. She had to ask, “Has Jonathan arrived? Is he with Mister Wilson right now?”
Hamuza smiled quietly at her. He looked mysterious when she asked her about that.
However, she should have faith on her boyfriend. Jonathan told her by himself that he would come along. But the last time he chatted her on the phone, he was still stuck in the traffic jam with a driver. And that driver was Daniel’s personal chaperon as well.
Daniel was surely being too good to be true. There was still a slight doubt inside of her heart about that man.
Afterward, Hamuza assured her, “Mister Brown will be here soon, Miss Moss.”
She blinked nervously. If Jonathan had not arrived yet, she would be meeting with Daniel all by herself. Sienna gawked. “Oh, but…”
“Please, come on. We don’t want to make him waiting. It’s the etiquette, Miss Moss,” Hamuza reminded her.
When he mentioned about the etiquette, that was kind of snapped her right in the face. He tried to admonish her about being polite. And that made her heart shuddered with shame.
Soon after, she could only nod and follow him obediently.
