Secrets
When I open my eyes again, I see Aziel staring at me.
I give him a watery smile, when I think about how we went all out last night, I feel a bit shy. Aziel seems to read my mind and laughs. I snuggle against him, it feels like before.
“My love, this is something of ours. In the future we will continue to please each other, we are made for each other”, he whispers to me. He now holds me back and tilts my face to his. “Loraine, do you want to be my wife, be with me in good and bad times, even after death?”.
Look, Aziel has proposed to me before, but this time, now that I recognize my true love for him, it feels completely different. The joy and gratitude I feel are unbelievable. “I also proposed to you yesterday. You didn't answer me," I remind him. His thumb caresses my lips. “Because I want the privilege of asking you first. You know I've always wanted to be your legal husband. You weren't ready for that then. And now?".
I hear him finish his sentence uncertainly. I quickly get up and walk to the hallway where my handbag is left on a side table. I frantically dig into it until I find the jewelry box. When I turn to walk back, I see Aziel in the bedroom doorway. “Why did you get up?” he asks confused. I lean against his chest with my face raised to him. “Answer me now. Will you marry me?”.
"I already told you that I am the one who proposes to you and not the other way around," he responds. Hmmm, this is about to become an old-fashioned affair. “Yes, but you don't have a ring yet and I do. Proposing without a ring is not possible”, I correct him. Checkmate! He watches with wide eyes as I take the ring out of the box, I know it fits perfectly. It's a man's band in small diamonds, enough to claim my ownership on him and chase other women away.
I take his hand and look at him again. “Make a decision quickly, Aziel. He who is silent actually consents.” He takes my face in both hands and kisses me until I can't breathe. “Yes, I want to be your man, now and always”, he whispers to me with a heavy emotion in his voice. I slip the ring on his finger. “With this ring, I express my endless love for you, Aziel Renegade. After today you are officially my fiancé. We register our engagement with the Civil Registration Bureau”.
“Let's wash and dress quickly. I must also have a ring for you. We go to the jeweler together so that you choose what you like," he says. We walk back to the bedroom and then I realize we have some business to discuss before we continue.
“We need to talk, Aziel. There are a few things I need to let you know so you can understand my actions after today. The media might stress you with all kinds of news, but I want you to stay faithful to me," I begin, pressing him down to sit on the bed. I hold both his hands tightly. “I came to New York to take care of business. Fellogan Holding is on the verge of bankruptcy and I now own eighty percent of the shares,” I explain. “A restructuring plan is in progress and the first signs of growth should be noticeable within a year.”
Aziel looks at me strangely. “Why did you invest in Fellogan's shares? Do you want to stay in his life, do you still have feelings for him?” he asks urgently. “You just tied yourself to me. I won't share you with anyone and I won't let you go anymore. I've waited too long for you," he says confidently.
“You know we had already bought in when we worked with him at the mall project. After that, I just bought more as an investment. The dividend payments of the first two years were good. The decline came four years ago. But the case is not hopeless,” I explain. But I know that Aziel is very intelligent, he knows that there is more behind my persistent bond with Dordrich. I doubt this is the right time to tell him about Lorrich, he might change his mind about my motivations. But I hate to have secrets from him, that would be a time bomb under our relationship which is now heading in the right direction.
He's looking at me intently now. "Tell me the truth, Loraine," he demands.
I bring the finger with the engagement ring I put on it a few minutes ago to my lips, looking him straight in the eye. “There are some things you have to be absolutely sure of. My love and loyalty to you. From today you are the only man for me, to whom I give myself and with whom I will share my life. You should never doubt that no matter what the circumstances look like. You are my better half, Aziel”.
There is an intense joy on his face. He grabs me and presses me against him. “You can be assured that’s all the same for me. I am yours even after death. No one can even come close to me after today. I love you, Loraine."
Ooohhh gosh! It feels so good, loving somebody and he loves you back.
“But there is one more important issue that we need to discuss. But I want to postpone that until the right moment comes," I let him know. He raises his eyebrow questioningly, but when he notices that I don't want to compromise on that, he shrugs his shoulders. “Okay, take your time. When you are ready, I'll hear about it. As long as your heart is with me, I can have this for a little while longer."
We take a shower but don't get out in an hour. Physical hunger can be satisfied anywhere. And we are not frugal with it.
