See You Again

Andre is sitting at the table when he hears the beep from his phone. He's just going through the yacht club's reports. His mood is great because he notices that Rick is doing an excellent job there, actually better than he could ever have done.
Ever since Aziel's case came into the public eye, his phone has been ringing like crazy. It is likely that when the press cannot Aziel, they are trying to get information from him.
He has promised himself that he will strongly support Aziel in this matter. Now that Dale is involved in the kidnapping, he somehow feels guilty for what happened. He has yet to discover why Dale got involved, refusing to believe that his only motive was financial gain.
Reluctantly, he takes his phone and looks at the notification list. Then he sees that Aziel self has sent him a text message. He wants to look into it in case it concerns Loraine. He quickly unlocks the device and presses the notification link. He reads the message and frowns. Aziel claims that the case will be heard by the court tomorrow and that he needs his advice.
Andre decides to go to his study to check his email on his desktop. Within minutes the message is open on screen and he reads in disbelief the demand of Clairy's lawyer. ‘Of all your life! Who has given rights to criminals, for God's sake! Raping a man and still have demands', he whispers in disbelief. He starts to massage his forehead to release the tension in his head created after reading the mail.
‘Let's not be difficult. If we appear humane, the judge will look at us differently’, he types in response to Aziel. ‘Let them close the doors behind her’, he writes sarcastically. He clicks on the attachment to the email, but it opens so slowly that he decides to make himself a snack in the kitchen first and come back to read.
In the freezer, Andre finds some Indonesian snacks that still need to be baked. He puts a pan on fire and puts the raw snacks in it. As he waits for them to turn brown, his mind wanders to the man he met on the plane. It's been three days since they said part. He doesn't want to make the first contact, to avoid being seen as needy. After this matter of Aziel, he resolves to deepen his relationship with Kenjal Griffith. Maybe there's something deeper, his mind can finally be free from that evil Dale.
He sighs when he notices that the Croquettes and Somosa’s are already well baked. He puts them on a napkin so that the oil is absorbed from the snacks. Some ketchup on them and nibbling at them, he walks back to his study to see if the file has been downloaded yet. And yes, there it is, open on his screen. Andre sits comfortably and begins to read. Clairy's lawyer claims all the footage since only photos have been added to the file.
Andre also advises Aziel to release the footage to the opposing party's lawyer, but not the screenshots. In case the man wants to weave a false story around the video footage, the screenshots should be kept as a surprise hit.
Then he wonders which lawyer wants to use his knowledge to defend a rape case like this. The evidence is compelling, everything points to her being the culprit. In addition, there are many who can testify that he was not in the bar to meet Clairy but ran into her in the washroom. Aziel has been crazy about Loraine for years, abstaining from sex and waiting for her to come back to New York. Andre is laughing out loud now in his apartment. He realizes that after the years of abstinence, it's no wonder Loraine is now pregnant with twins. He promises himself to tease Aziel with this the next time they meet.
Anyway, when he has completely read the lawyer's document, his eyes suddenly fall on the signature and the name underneath.
Master of Laws, Kenjal Griffith.
Andre blinks a few times and reads again. The name has not changed this second time around. His heart begins to pound wildly. Could it be his Kenjal?
But then he realizes that it could just be a coincidence that someone in New York has the same name. Is more common in America and then the people are not related to each other at all. During the conversation on the plane, Kenjal never indicated that he is a lawyer, nothing pointed to that. He knew a lot about politics and tourism, their conversation was never about law and criminal cases.
Andre decides to google the name and to see if the Kenjal Griffith he knows matches the images that come up. But to his horror, he sees a photo of the man he met on the plane. Confirmed, Kenjal Griffith is a distinguished lawyer, tough in his pleas and he has been able to achieve nice reduced sentences for many top-ranking criminals. In a short biography about the Kenjal Griffith that he got to know, it is stated that his parents come from Suriname, a small country close to Brazil. He studied in Florida and later moved his practice to New York because he had a lot of well-paid clients there.
A sad look comes into Andre's eyes. Why didn't Kenjal just reveal his true identity, he wonders. Is he an imposter like Dale, who only seeks the satisfaction of selfish desires? Andre takes a deep breath.
Tomorrow he will see Kenjal Griffith again. In the courtroom, where he will stand next to Aziel, so opposite him. Andre wonders what his attitude will be when he sees him standing there. Will he pretend they never met? Or will he approach him professionally, arrogantly like most influential lawyers? After all, they were just friends, no more.
Andre feels his heart hammering in his chest. He refuses to think further about this. Tomorrow he will get all the answers...
