Fellogan Attacks
The memories return in full force when Loraine enters the house with Lorrich on her arm. She quickly falls on the couch and holds her head. The last days leading up to her amnesia, the stress of Aziel's lawsuit, distraught watching Aziel suffer from the attacks from the media, everything resurfaces.
Also, the day she was lured from the hospital by the head nurse and Danner who was waiting for her in the parking lot. “Mommy, what is it?” Lorrich asks concerned when he sees her pained face. She looks at her son, she knows he is too young to understand the evil ways of adults.
Aziel, who has just entered, sees Loraine's gray face. "Angel, are you feeling well? You look terrible" he asks concerned. She beckons him to sit next to her and buries her head in his chest. “Everything is back. I have my memory back, my head is pounding", she whispers.
A stabbing headache begins to set in, she massages her temples in the hope that it will pass. Quickly, Aziel gets some aspirin from a nearby drawer. “Drink this now and go to bed early. I'll bring you some soup in the bedroom." He picks her up and takes her to the bathroom. There he places her in the bathtub opens the tap so she can relax in the lukewarm water. He massages her shoulders to ease the stress a bit. When he has helped her dry and dress, he places her on the bed. He quickly goes to the kitchen and prepares her an instant noodle soup.
When she has finished the soup, Loraine falls asleep at once. The emotions of getting her memory back and the long journey home take their toll. Aziel stays behind in the living room with Lorrich, the boy has so much to tell him about everything he has been through in recent weeks.
Loraine sleeps for almost fourteen hours straight.
When she finally gets out of the bed, she finds her son and fiancé in the sitting room watching TV. Lorrich is relieved to see her again. “Mommy, you slept so long. Daddy said you were very tired and needed a lot of sleep. Are you feeling okay now?," he asks slightly concerned and sits on her lap.
“Where were you all those weeks, mommy? Daddy Dordrich said you were traveling and couldn't call me at your place," he states. Loraine knew this moment would come. When she hears what explanation Dordrich has given him about her absence, she is grateful. "That's true. I couldn't call, and Aziel had to come to take me back," she tells him. “You know how he always takes good care of us”. Lorrich grins and looks adoringly at Aziel. “When I grow up, I'll be just like daddy. Then I'll take good care of you too, mommy," he promises. Aziel and Loraine laugh at his innocence.
They sit on the couch in each other's arms. This is the time for them to bond again as a family. Lorrich has his head on Aziel's chest and begins to fall asleep to his father's constant heartbeat. Aziel takes the remote control and turns on the television. After zipping the channels a few times, he chooses the local news.
After a few minutes Loraine suddenly appears on the screen.
Her return to New York is widely reported, supported by the images at the airport where Dordrich Fellogan and their son take her in a tight embrace. Aziel who’s standing not far away is conveniently kept out of the picture. According to the journalist, Loraine has reconciled with Fellogan now his divorce from Elena is finalized. During her long absence, he took care of their son, anxiously waiting for her return which eventually took place after several weeks.
But that is not everything.
To their horror, it is stated that Loraine had a miscarriage several months ago, due to a secret affair of Aziel, to whom she was engaged. The news channel also reports that the woman he is in the relationship with is now pregnant and could give birth at any moment. That is why Loraine broke off the engagement and turned her business relationship with Fellogan back into a love affair. A report is then made of the millions Loraine invested in the Fellogan Holding after it was on the brink of bankruptcy. All these shares are in the name of their only son and heir, as are all material goods Dordrich gifted her during their extramarital affair.
Loraine and Aziel watch the news in astonishment, both of whom don't know what to say.
“Waw”, Loraine finally responds. “This news station knows the art of twisting facts to make them look like truths.” She shakes her head disapprovingly. “This is really too crazy for words! Would Dordrich have put this together himself, Aziel?”
Her man is still recovering from the shock. “The person who put this together is an insensitive monster,” he says hoarsely. “To positively influence the local opinion about Fellogan, probably to boost his shares on the stock exchange, they are sacrificing others' peace of mind.” Aziel suddenly becomes very emotional.
“Perhaps I am indeed to blame for the loss of our children. If I had taken better care of myself, Clairy would never get the chance to kidnap me that easily. If I hadn't reported the case to the police, no one would know of it. If I had only confided in you, we could have solved this out of the public eye," he blames himself.
"If it weren't for this whole lawsuit, we'd be a happy family now." His eyes are now watery, his chest moves quickly due to his increased breathing. “Burying my children without their mother seeing them at least once is the worst thing I've ever experienced. Your kidnapping, life here in the house without you! Those were the hardest days of my life since even breathing is impossible for me without you.” Aziel is now fully venting his heart.
“Fellogan is right. All this is my fault.”...
