Once Again

Loraine rushes to pat Aziel on his back.
When he catches his breath, she looks at him strangely. “Hey, how do you know Danner isn't the right guy?” she asks him. Aziel waves it off. “No, I went by what you said. You said yourself that something tells you that he is the wrong face you are looking at," he explains. “I have learned to follow my gut. That is often the most reliable, it is your inner self that never suffers from amnesia”.
Loraine's eyes widen. "Wouldn't he really be my betrothed?" she says, startled and looks at Aziel bewildered. “But then my husband would have been looking for me long ago. We've been together for over two months and no one has even recognized me yet," she muses.
Aziel's heart is beating like a mad man. He doubts whether this is the right time to tell Loraine everything. But then he thinks he has nothing to convince her but his love. He decides to stick to his plan to draw her in emotionally. She is undoubtedly already attracted to him, now he still has to let her fall in love with him again. And that only works if they spend more time together.
“Loraine, at any time of the day, whenever you need company or a chat, come to me. I am one door away and I assure you that you’re safe with me. Even if you want to start your life over again, I can help you with that. You only have to reach me. Will you promise me that?” Aziel looks her straight in the eye, his genuineness radiates from his personality.
“Why would you want to do that for me? You've only known me for a day. Maybe I'm a runaway criminal or something," she asks curiously. Aziel has to laugh about that. “An escaped criminal does not go unnoticed early in the morning in a park where it is full of security cameras”, he answers dryly. “And as the owner of a transportation company, I know the FBI's most-wanted list like the back of my hand.” Both are laughing at the jokes now.
But soon Aziel is serious again. “Loraine, I want you to promise to come to me. No lonely trips to the park or across the streets," he insists. Again, Loraine looks into those blue depths that threaten to engulf her. She has been deeply attracted to this stranger ever since seeing him for the first time in the elevator. In fact, she had only noticed these gorgeous blues that were touching her soul. Slowly she moves closer to him, as if naturally he stretches out his hand to pull her to his chest. Their movements are fluid and Loraine realizes that they are so well-matched that he seems to know right away what is happening inside her.
She snuggles up to his chest and inhales his scent. His warmth is soothing, convinces her that she can really trust him. “Yes, I promise,” she whispers.
“Good girl”, he says softly into her hair and presses a kiss to her forehead. “And now quickly get back to Danner before he comes looking for you. See you soon, my love." And he lets her go so she can walk back to the hotel. Before she turns the corner, she waves at him and then she is gone. Aziel sighs deeply. After months he held her in his arms again and it felt so good. Their bodily synchronization is still there, his reflexes are entirely attuned to her aura.
He was able to restrain himself from caressing her intimately as he used to when they were alone at home. That's what he misses most, their intimate moments, her naked body against his. Aziel takes a deep breath to keep herself calm. He knows he can't rush anything, Loraine has to come to him on her own. And he is willing to wait for her. He and Lorrich.
About half an hour later, he also heads for the hotel. He makes sure that his hoodie hangs firmly over his head and partly over his face while looking at the ground. Above all, he wants to prevent Danner from recognizing him because then everything will be over. And knowing the man, he must have been on the lookout after Loraine was gone too long.
When Aziel reaches his bedroom undisturbed, he sees Andre and Kenjal on a bed watching television. They jump up when they see him step inside. “Man, how did it go? Are you progressing already?” wants Andre to know.
Aziel sighs sadly.
“She is unhappy. She had a fight with Danner about his possessiveness, this man just won't change his ways. It is this character trait that has landed him in prison," he says, annoyed. "She's not allowed a phone, friends or any contact with the outside world while she yearns for a normal life," he continues. "But the most important thing is that she feels that Danner is not the right man." Andre shouts out happily. “Does she feel that? Then that Danner balances on a silk thread that can snap anytime. That idiot."
“In any case, I made her promise to knock on our door any time she feels lonely. Even if she wants to start her life again, we can help,” he says. There is silence in the room for a moment. “How are you going to bring her to New York without anyone recognizing her? That's impossible, you know that yourself, Aziel", Andre points out to him.
“But Barbados is still there. She has already started over there. Also, this time the island can help her heal. No one there knows her life in New York, only Michelle and Rick,” Aziel points out. Andre has to think about this, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to him. “Let's see how this plays out,” he responds. “I think the reveal will come soon now that she has vented her heart to you. Danner is a thing of the past. Once again"...
