Apollo Hall is On

I need a plan, and soon!
Danner is on his way here, I'm so sure about that. He deliberately did not call me, but first verified my story with Kaylah. I hate to lie to him, but I want to mature my relationship with Dordrich before I cut all ties. Danner knew from the start that our bonding is just superficial, he pretty much lured me into this engagement.
But he also knows not to play hardball.
Because with my back against the wall, I make drastic decisions. For now, I don't want to lose him yet, but I also know that I have to come up with a good story. Danner often goes by my attitude, he senses auras when he decides to trust someone.
And then this Kaylah!
She's already guessed what's going on, of course, so she will sour me further in the future. Sigh, how did I even get the idea to declare that I was going to have a night out with her in the first place?!
“Kaylah, listen, let's go to Aziel's office. There I explain everything. And I need your help.” And sure enough, those who have never seen the devil smirking, there is a good one going on here. Proud of herself she looks at me, I know this story will not end here. Damn girl!
We walk down the hall to Aziel where she knocks on the door. Aziel opens himself, theatrical invites us in. “Aziel, trouble in the paradise of the hot celebrity couple. Danner is after his fiancée, who’s spent the night outside the marital bed,” Kaylah teased, finishing the sentence with a loud laugh. Only, she does not get the desired response from Aziel.
"What!! Have you slept elsewhere than in your own bed, Loraine? Or do I have to ask if you stayed in someone else’s arms?”, Aziel demands an explanation, his attitude is almost the same as I expect from Danner in a short moment. The only difference is that when it comes to Aziel he can get more out of me than Danner, he makes me feel less like I have to defend myself. I suspect that Aziel needs me more in his life, ready to offer me a helping hand rather than condemning me. Whereas Danner tends to forcibly control me.
“It's true, but it’s not what you think. I just didn't keep to the agreements made and I stayed in the club. You know I also met Asher last time there and had a good time with him. Also this time it was too nice to leave early”, I make up on the spot. Aziel doesn't believe me, I can see it in his eyes. But he doesn't want to confront me yet, he waits for the right opportunity, that's always been his tactic. Aziel does not know about the affair with Dordrich, so does not suspect anything in that direction.
“Is that so, Loraine?”, I hear the jellyfish next to me remarks. “At least I know one person you could spend the night with. And then I don't think you were on the dance floor at all." She looks at me with raised eyebrows, expecting me to confirm her story.
“Don't be ridiculous, woman! The person you're thinking of is out of my reach. Shall we now turn to Danner who could be here any moment? Then we can try to find a movie producer for your strong imagination and get you a role in a third-rate casting,” I snap at her. I don't want Aziel to suspect any of Dordrich and later pinch me with questions about my relationship with him. But it looks like Kaylah has other plans.
“Okay, what do you have in mind? Because if you haven't slept at home, whatever story you serve up doesn't change the fact. What else would Danner's problem be?", Kaylah is really on her picture now. "I don’t think that not sleeping at home really annoys him, but what will knock him out is who she spent the evening with."
Cursed hell!
Doesn't this woman know how to quit? Aziel is very intelligent, he will soon realize that there is more to it.
“Listen, cut the crab! I was at a girl’s night out with Kaylah last night. We met you there with some friends and it got so cozy that we lost track of time. Kaylah drove me home afterward," I give as a possible explanation to Danner. Aziel chuckles.
“Danner hates me like no other. If he hears you were with me all night, I can call the coffin company already. That man doesn't want me to be anywhere near you." Kaylah makes a disapproving noise. “That fool! Possessive on a woman he knows he just serves as a piece of entertainment!”, she hisses. I look at her warningly, I'm starting to get tired of her attitude towards Danner. Everyone knows by now that she would rather see him go than come, but she doesn't always have to repeat it.
We now both look expectantly at Aziel, he is the only one with a clear mind who can come up with another alternative. “Although your statement has a chance of success. You don't trust a lot of people and would be out on the street this late with only me and Kaylah. Besides, we were not alone at that time, so Danner would be reassured. And Kaylah took you home, so that's all settled. He doesn't have to worry that you and I ended in bed for a hot night," Aziel chuckles.
I sigh with relief. Why did I even have any doubt? Aziel is a rock, always ready to rescue me from any situation. “So, is that the final statement we're giving?”, I ask in confirmation. “We all have to say the same thing. And don't forget that Danner pays particular attention to the tone and intonation when you speak. So, watch your attitude too, tell like it's no big deal."
I am relieved.
It was pretty stupid of me to forget about Danner last night.
But I was so drunk with Dordrich, with our bodies entwined, his lips on my skin, I couldn't think of anyone else at that moment. I feel the familiar surf going through my body again.
But before I can pay more attention to that, the intercom on Aziel's desk rings. “Mr. Aziel, is the director in your room by any chance? Mister Fellogan is on his way to her office, but she doesn't pick up her phone there."
Startled, I tighten my grip on the file that is still in my hands.
I think Apollo Hall is going into session now...
