More Women
We woke up a few hours later. Aziel plays with my blond hair as usual, he seems obsessed with my locks. “Wake up already, naughty girl? You know you were acting irresponsibly. We didn't use any protection," he says. I'm scared, I hadn't thought of that at all. And I don't know if it's safe to get pregnant now after having a miscarriage only a few months ago.
“Oohhh sorry Aziel, I hadn't thought of that at all. When we get back, I will check with the doctor what else we can do”, I sigh. I lift my head to see if he's angry. But there's nothing of that on his face, he looks at me thoughtfully. "There's one more thing you should know, I don't want you to hear from third parties," he says. I nod encouragingly. “A few months ago, I was drugged and raped by a granddaughter of close friends. The trial is still ongoing, we are waiting for the date for the verdict," he said. “Kenjal, Andre's partner is the opposing party's lawyer.”
I look at him surprised, he starts laughing at my reaction.
“Yes, he had met Andre before on the plane, but only got into a relationship after the case was in the final stages of hearings. So, there is nothing unethical about our friendship.”
I'm starting to see the humor in it and laugh with him. Life is full of surprises, we never know where the person we fall in love with will eventually come from. “There's more, Loraine. The girl got pregnant. She is now in prison and should be about six months pregnant," he continues. “At the next hearing, I'll probably hear when she's due. After that I will apply for full custody of the child. I cannot let it bear the brunt of all this. So, in a few months I will be the father of two children.”
“Let's hope I don't have five myself. Because then we have a house full of little ones. And I also get less sex”, I remark dryly. Asiel almost chokes with laughter, he can hardly contain himself. “Wow, Loraine, are you only thinking about sex? Our children also need to be taken care of," he jokes with a chuckle. I put on a pout. "Yes, but if you don't take good care of me first, how can I go on?"
We get up, take a fresh bath in the sea and return to satisfy our hunger with the roast pig. Aziel cuts a plate full of meat for me, it's still nice and warm. He has made a sauce from some herbs that taste excellent on the meat. He pours a generous amount on my plate. While enjoying our meal, we suddenly hear a two-engine plane flying overhead. It goes low first, makes a round and comes back. They probably discovered the boat.
Aziel takes my hand and we run to the beach. There he takes out a plastic bag with a smoke cannon from under a rock. He shoots some colored balls that decorate the sky. The plane comes back and drops a ball. And when Aziel picks it up, it turns out that it contains a letter. 'We are coming back. The yacht is on its way. Please wait on the beach," it reads. We wave to confirm the receipt of the message and the plane disappears, maybe to escort the boat. “Come on, let's pack everything we've got,” my fiancé says. I smile at him. “What if we pack the pig? We can surprise the others on the boat with our daily meal as a thank you for our rescue”, I joke.
Aziel thinks it's a good idea.
I help skin the cooked parts that we put in a deep dish. When we're done, Aziel makes some more of the delicious sauce. As we look at the sea, we indeed see Andre's yacht approaching in the distance. “Look, Aziel, a few more minutes and we will leave this paradise. Don't forget what you promised me, babe”, I emphasize, somewhat hesitantly.
Aziel takes me in his arms, looking me deeply in the eyes. “As soon as you break off your supposed engagement to Danner, pack your things and take them to the yacht where I'll be waiting for you. You know the way”, he says seriously. “I wait impatiently for you, my love, do not disappoint me."
We kiss each other tenderly seal our promise always to be together.
A dinghy is heading our way and I see three men jumping out. Hastily they wade through the water ashore, repeatedly shouting Aziel's name. "Let's go before they alert all the wild animals here," he says, rolling his eyes. When we are on the beach the men run to Aziel and engulf him in a collective bear hug. I stand and look at it with a smile.
“Aziel, man! We were scared to death. But we all knew you had to survive, you have too much to live for," says a blond guy. Another black-haired man gives Aziel an extra hug, he is clearly relieved to see his friend. And there stands Andre, grinning, looking at me. “And well, if I had been stranded on a deserted island with such a beautiful woman, I would certainly not want to be rescued for a long, long time,” he notes. I blush to my ears and bow my head shyly.
Aziel pulls me closer. “Rick, Archer, this is Loraine. We met at the hotel and she plucked me out of the sea. But the boat turned out to have insufficient fuel to bring us back,” he introduces me to his friends. To my surprise, I see the men exchanging a look of understanding. The two shake hands with me, looking sideways at Aziel. “Hi Loraine, glad to meet you. Thank you for finding our best friend and taking him ashore safely," says the man addressing Aziel by the name of Rick.
All three seem a bit uncomfortable, looking at each other with straight faces.
“Ahem, the women are waiting impatiently at the yacht. Michelle and Kaylah came along, we really couldn't stop them, Aziel. Michelle has been crying all the days since you went missing, while Kaylah needed a lot of tranquilizers because…”, his voice descends until he looks silently in my direction. Strangely, these men seem to share a secret. I'm waiting to meet that Michelle and Kaylah. Is one perhaps an ex or so of Aziel? Well, she'll meet his fiancé in a minute...
