Lots of Love
Social media is going crazy with the photos of Lorrich in Aziel's arms as Loraine walks beside them. ‘The First Family of New York’, tops many tabloid reports. Many are guessing about the identity of the boy who has only a few features of Loraine. His blond hair makes many guesses about who his father might be.
There are photos where Lorrich is zoomed in and placed in the middle of Danner and Aziel for people to recognize similarities. And then again between Danner and Dordrich. Many are guessing that Danner or Dordrich is involved, as Lorrich sand blonde must be a mix of Loraine's black hair and his father's blonde head. Aziel is excluded by almost everyone because of his black hair.
But there are still many who know that Loraine lived in Barbados all these years. The boy is recognized by fellow passengers on the flight on which he and Andre traveled to New York. There is still speculation that the man who arrived with the boy is the father, but that is rebuffed by reactions that know Andre is gay. So, there is talk again about a secret lover on the Caribbean island with whom Loraine had a short-lived relationship.
Both Loraine and Dordrich read some of the posts and the comments. Both received numerous calls from journalists to clarify the identity of the boy but have not responded. They want to make arrangements around the boy before they go into the media. In addition, there are also private matters that need to be sorted out.
Loraine throws open the doors of the conference room at the Fellogan Holding and steps in confidently. Dordrich waits there impatiently for her for almost an hour. Not that she arrived later than the appointed time, but Dordrich is far too impatient to hear from her about his son. Instead of sitting next to him as he expected, Loraine takes a seat opposite him at the long table.
“Loraine, you gave birth to my son”, Dordrich starts emotionally. “I kept wondering if you might be pregnant as we never used protection. But before I could talk to you about it, you were gone. And you wouldn't make me come close to you in Barbados either." Loraine looks at him unfazed.
“I am so happy with our son, he is everything I wished for, he is the personification of my deep love for you,” he continues. “Anele will be thrilled to get to know him. Thank you Loraine, you don't know how happy you have made me." Dordrich does everything to hold back his tears of happiness, yet a few trickle out of the corner of his eye.
He clears his throat, Loraine still staring at him in silence.
“Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant? I would have come straight to you, helped you get through the rough time. I would also see my son being born, hear him say his first words and help him take his first steps.” Now he can't contain himself anymore, the tears are streaming down his cheeks. “I would have loved to have been there. Loraine, I love you, even more now that I know you had my child. Let's make a family for our son. Marry me!".
“Dordrich, listen. There's no way you and I will get back into a love affair. I already told you I'm betrothed and be married shortly. What we now have to arrange is how to get you to know your son and when you can have him with you," Loraine let him know emotionlessly. “All we have to discuss is visitation arrangements and how we explain this case in the media. Lorrich must suffer as little damage as possible”.
Dordrich looks pained at the woman who was once so fond of him. “You have transcribed all the gifts I gave you in his name. There I began to suspect that you probably gave birth to my child. Don't you want to give him a full family now, so that he can grow up in a balanced way? He looks so happy, isn't it worth giving him more?” Dordrich is clearly playing the emo-card to get his way, but Loraine is determined. “What you need to know about Lorrich is that he has so many fathers who love him. He is a very happy and intelligent boy with three mothers who care for and watch over him. You're one father more, you won't make a difference when it comes to the love he already gets to grow up both mentally and physically healthy," she corrects him.
“I suggest you have him with you two weekends a month in the first three months so he can get used to you and your family. Then we get back together and evaluate whether we are increasing the frequency. To weaken the media attention, we do an interview with Alyssa, but no TV and not live. Just for the newspaper”, Loraine tells him.
“If he's with me on weekends, will you come along?” Dordrich asks, barely able to hide his excitement. "He might get upset if he's suddenly surrounded by strangers."
Lorain e sigh, she's up to his game. “No, when you meet him for the first time, you take an hour or so on an outing. Just to bond, father and son. It is then your job to gain his trust. You are his father, I trust he must be safe with you."
But Dordrich doesn't give up. This is his only option to have Loraine closer. “No, he needs to know that his mom and dad get along and love him. There absolutely have to be times when there are the three of us”, he persists. The woman senses that he wants to push it to the limit.
She looks straight at the man this time. “I also have to take into account my fiancé, I have my own life apart from you. Lorrich adores Aziel who will do anything for him. All I'm willing to do is spend that hour where you take him with you together. Absolutely no more than that. No weekends, and no longer than two hours,” she says relentlessly.
Dordrich realizes that he’d better not push his luck too far...
