She Is Mine

It is already late when they arrive at the hotel.
Loraine walks ahead, not wanting to let Danner know she's made new friends. He has always discouraged that and she fears he will do it again if he knows of the three men a few rooms away from theirs. So, she asked Aziel not to appear together in the hotel lobby.
Aziel has agreed to this because it serves him well. He watches her step into the hotel from a distance, right into Danner's arms. The man seems really concerned that she's been away without reporting him for such a long time. 'Serves you right. If you don't give her a phone, she can't call you, jerk' he thinks angrily. Danner holds her tight as she stands like a stiff stick in his arms, really not moved by his show of love. Then they enter the elevator to their room and disappear from his sight.
Aziel sighs sadly. Loraine didn't dare decide to go to Barbados with him. He thinks the fact that they've only known each other for just two days makes her doubt. But she does trust him, as she has completely opened up to him. She has confided in him her deepest feelings and fears, her doubts about Danner’s intentions, her suspicion that she has more children. He would have liked to reassure her that everything is okay.
He now enters the hotel himself but does not go straight to the bedroom.
In the bar he sits down on a stool and beckons the bartender. “A double whiskey, please,” he orders. He is the only man sitting at the bar table. The hotel had organized an extensive tour of the country, so everyone seemed to be still tired after coming back. The bartender now has all the attention on him. “Hey man, you're not from here are you?! I saw you walking to a yacht with that beautiful lady,” he says ambiguously. Aziel looks up at him. “Ooohhh, okay”, he responds dryly.
“The husband is possessive of his wife. And you managed to take her. Man, you're amazing," he’s praising him softly. "She's not even allowed to talk to the male servants here." Aziel taps the table with his fingertips, but the man doesn't seem to notice his irritation. “One of the cleaning ladies told me that the woman was completely passed out in bed a few days ago. She noisily cleaned the room, but the woman didn't wake up," said the man. "Later, she saw medicines she recognized on the table." Now he has caught Aziel's interest. He looks questioningly at the gossiping bartender.
The man seems pleased that he now has Aziel's full attention. He’s hanging further over the table. “They are drugs for people with schizophrenia, to suppress their consciousness,” he says. “But she says she doesn't see any symptoms of that disease in the woman. Out of pity, she switched the tablets. The man had a large quantity with him. She has replaced them all with vitamin tablets,” the man reveals. Aziel now looks at him with wide eyes. "Serious? Or are you just making a story?” he asks incredulously. He considers that this may be why Loraine started remembering some things from the past. That means that she might also recognize him one day.
"No man. She pointed the tablets to me also, I googled the names on my phone. Indeed. And they’re a heavy dose as well,” he says seriously. “The man is wealthy. But I think he's definitely trying to pocket the woman's insurance money. No one can be so cruel to his wife without large sums of money involved.” Aziel wrinkles his nose, he has no intention of taking the man out of his delusions. “Maybe, but maybe not. She is a beautiful woman,” he notes.
“Are you planning on taking her from him or was it just a fling you had with her today?” he now asks with great interest. “I would just be careful, the man can sometimes be ruthless. He's crazy about her, won't let you just take her. I'd be careful if I were you," he warns.
Aziel now tugs thoughtfully at his beard. "I don't intend to do either," he answers the man mysteriously. “Huh? What kind of answer is that? You were out with the man's wife. Are you keeping or dropping her?” he now asks the man urgently.
Aziel thinks about making it clear to the man that his plans don't represent either of his options. He has no intention of amplifying third parties in Danner's nonsense, the man is just an unforgiving criminal. “Are there just the two options you listed? Because my plans with that desirable woman do not describe any of them”, he pauses for a moment.
The hotel worker shakes his head, he knows he can't impose himself on the guest. He is also starting to lose his temper. He goes back to wash the glasses in the sink and put them away. When he takes Aziel's glass to refill it, he finally hears the answer. “I am not in any competition with anyone. I can't snatch away what's already mine," he says softly. But the bartender clearly heard him. “Is she your woman? But how is the man here with her then? They were here much longer than you and your friends. Did your wife run away with this man, are you here to persuade her to go home?” he now asks curiously.
“This man is incapable of taking my wife away. Criminals only use their own resources to impose their will on others. But let's see how this ends, I have patience," murmurs Aziel. He tosses some bills on the counter, straightens his hoodie and heads for his room. When he arrives there, Andre and Kenjal appear to have left. Just what he needs to rest his mind. He hopes this affair doesn't take too long, all he wants is Loraine's confession and then back home. Their son is waiting...
