He Is Dead

Fellogan's Rolls Royce now comes into view.
Little can be recognized of the expensive car, it is a total wreck. Obviously, he flew into the guardrail lost control of the wheel. The paramedics are quick to respond, as is the fire brigade. Because emergency workers are running to the spot, there is little to see of the accident for a few seconds on tv. Until the journalist on-site announces that they have managed to get Fellogan out of the vehicle and he is still alive.
“Yes, the assholes in this world have seven lives,” Archer curses. We see Fellogan being transported to the helicopter on a stretcher. His face is bloodied, his head is supported with a clamp. It's clear he's in a lot of pain, but he's holding his ground.
We drive on. "Let's hope this doesn't become another obstacle in our friends' relationship," Damian sighs. “Those setbacks always follow each other. What the two need is peace, in their relationship, in their life.”
Along the way, we stop to buy a snack at a food truck and stretch our legs.
We hear some people talking about the accident as we stand in line. It seems like that Fellogan isn't quite the crowd favorite. “He was really going too fast. Only because the journalist had told him the truth. Fellogan just needs to get under the cover for some time,” says one young woman. “He owes so much to Loraine. His extramarital affair with her has done him so much good, she saved him from an embarrassing bankruptcy, that loser!” thinks her partner. An older woman joins the conversation. “He just can't accept that she's over him. Loraine is a lucky one, Aziel is everything a woman dreams of. Rich, accomplished and drop-dead sexy”.
We look at each other with amusement. The women of today really know what they want. When it's our turn, Damian takes the order. A blond saleswoman gives him a flirtatious look, her hands touching his as she takes the money from him. He lifts his head with a jerk and looks at her in surprise. “Ahem, did you do that on purpose? Are you flirting with me?” he asks her upfront. If I estimate her correctly, she must be in her early twenties but very confident. She doesn't back down from Damian's directness. "Why not? You are smoky hot and looking at the car, you're not poor. What healthy woman wouldn't want you?”, she says bluntly. “And look at me, I have a lot to offer”.
She turns her round ass towards him and pushes her breasts forward.
Damian can see the humor in it. “Confident, straight to the point and hardworking. Do you also have an education?” he asks. She laughs lightly. “No one without reason could challenge you. I am last year law student at the University. So soon available for marriage”, she says, hinting with her eyebrows. Everyone now follows the conversation in line, they have forgotten that they are being held up by the two.
Damian laughs now at the girl's daring. “Listen, I'm a father of eight children and I've been married for almost fifteen years. My wife won't let me go because she wants three more kids. That will take us another six years,” he says with a smirk. The girl is clearly shocked by the information. “Eight children? Really eight?” she exclaims. “In this modern age, couples don't go beyond three. And you go to eleven!”
Here I step in. “I don't know if what you're saying there is true, lady” I let her know. “A friend of ours is also planning eleven. I think that your suggested three is the old-fashioned amount”, I tease her.
It was a good interlude to unload our burdened minds. But we have to move on.
While driving, we eat our sandwiches.
But then flash news appears on the screen again. Fellogan succumbed to his injuries.
"He didn't make it!" I say shocked. I have not been a fan of the man, but I never wish him dead. We are all silent about the news. Although he was horribly injured in the collision, there was still a glimmer of hope. Especially since he was found to be alive when pulled from the wreckage.
My concern now goes to Lorrich. How will he receive this news? He is barely five and already has the heavy responsibility of an entire Fellogan family on his shoulders.
It looks like things will still get hectic for Loraine when everything is okay with Aziel. Ooohhh Goodness! Will all stress ever end?
I throw my head back and let my mind go blank. I now want to reenergize to face Aziel, to support him in everything so that the emotional burden becomes lighter.
We reach Virginia beach and look around. Nothing to see of the SUV of Aziel. We check the direction that the ICT man gave us on google map. “He must be here in one of the hotels somewhere. Let's go through all of them until we find this one," Archer suggests. And indeed, we are hardly a minute further when the hotel's name on the map is written in large letters in front of us. After parking the vehicle, we enter the spacious lobby and walk to the receptionist.
"Gentlemen, what can we do for you?" asks the friendly woman. She looks at us one by one intently, probably feeling the tension raging in us. “Could you please tell us where we can find Mr. Renegade? He is staying here with you”, Damian asks in a coaxing manner. The woman smiles apologetically. Well, I've been through this before, I know money opens all doors. I grab two bills of hundred dollars and drop them on her desk. She sees it, her eyes widen. “Then why do you want to speak to him? I don't want to get involved in a criminal case," she says. Of course, it is understandable that she builds safety for herself.
“No, we're here to talk to him. We want to persuade him to come back to New York. His wife is in the hospital, but his phone is turned off. The two are having marital problems," Archer explains to her. This always works on women, they are hopelessly sentimental when it comes to relationships and love. “Ooooh, okay. I want to tell you that the cleaning lady made a note on his room. Many alcohol bottles have been found in there, he is always passed out drunk in bed and has not shaved for days," she says with concern. "We were already planning to call in a doctor, but now I understand what it is all about."
Damian leaves another two hundred dollars and we get the spare key with the room number on it.
We don't have time for the elevator. In a sprint we stand in front of the Aziel room door...
