**Robert POV: **
In the middle of the night. I hear Avaya again screaming in pain as her heat intensified. A part of me is happy she is in heat. We get to document what happens. Sort of an inside study of she-wolves. If her screaming doesn't stop, I am going to have to sedate her. I walked to her room and her legs were wide open with her fingers knuckles deep inside her. She loos fustrated and in pain. "I am sure you are busy trying to get your wife back", he said.
"Yes, very busy. I have a location and I have sent what I have so far in a report for you", I said, and noticed he had a folder in front of them.
"I know that's why I am calling. Your report said she is pregnant by the Alpha and is carrying three children", he said without any expression.
"Yes, that is correct. And I do not think that the conception of the pregnancy was consensual ", I said in response.
"Robert, why do you want her back?", McKee asked.
"Because I love her, Sir, and I will love those children like mine. I plan to raise them as supernatural hunters.", I say with pride.
"This is your life; my only warning is that you don't put the association at risk. If she doesn't want to leave with you, don't make her. We don't need another war on our hands", he said in his commander tone.
"Understood Sir, thanks", I said, then hung up.
McKee is a great Commander. He was the second in command of the association at one point. The woman he lost was the first female Commander and Chief of the association in history and the last descendant of the great Abraham Van Helsing. When I told him about my situation with Cleo, he encouraged me to fight for her. He said he regretted not fighting for his love and for me not to make the same mistake.
He is married but, out of duty, he doesn't love his wife, but treats her well. He has four sons. He said he wanted a daughter so he could name her after his lost love, but it never happened. McKee always seems so sad when he talks about her.
I don't want that for Cleo and me. I already have enough regrets and if I can make her see how sorry I am. Maybe she will give me a chance to prove it to her. But as long as she is around that shifter, she will be hesitant to allow herself to feel the love she has for me. What had happened between Avaya and me, Cleo can never know.
She would not understand that I was trying to help her. Nothing more, nothing less. Once her heat is over, I plan to kick our plan into motion. I need Cleo back before she has those pups. It will be hard to take her and the three pups. I only have a short amount of time we will have. I will make sure that the infirmary at the association has all the medical equipment necessary to deliver the pups.
