**Time leap in this chapter
McKee POV: **
It's been five months since we thought Bas was killed. It's been nonstop meetings; Abrams is losing it I wish I could tell him Bas is alive. He is up all night and all day, if he does sleep it's only for a couple of hours or so. John that asshole I wish I can put a bullet in his head. I must say he is putting up a good front, playing the dutiful husband. He doesn’t know that I know he has been secretly corresponding with the council to force Abrams to retire. Together they have been looking into the archives to see what law they can invoke. The only they could find is that if he is deemed mentally unfit, he will have to step down.
Abrams is anything far from mentally unstable. Hell in the past months, he has ordered fuel for the choppers we need. He also ordered more ammo, tactical gear, and medical supplies. Abrams is ready for a full-on war. If he was mentally unstable, he wouldn’t have been able to do all of that. I have been trying to find a way to tell him he needs more sleep. I made my way to his office to have a talk with my commander and mentor.
“Abrams got a minute?”, I asked him. He looks horrible he got bags under his eyes and he looks pale. He missed her as do I.
“Sure McKee, what's going on”, he asked.
“I need to talk to you about the council”, I said taking a seat.
“What about them", he said with an eye roll.
“I have intel that they have been digging in the archives for a way to make you retire", I said to him.
“Over my dead body. Let them bastards try it”, he said getting upset.
“The only thing they can come up with is that if you are deemed mentally unfit”, I said to him.
“Well, that’s no problem I am perfectly fine”, he said with a shrug.
“No disrespect Sir, but have you seen yourself? I know you are fine but from the outside you don’t look fine”, I said pleading with him.
We finished our heart-to-heart and then talked about the missing drome. John has been sending drome but they never come back. They know we have been watching them, if John keeps this up, we will lose the surprise element. Abrams called John to come to his office so we can talk about the missing drome. When John finally came in, he was shocked to see his face. He doesn't sit he stands next to the door and greets us.
“Abrams......McKee”, John said greeting us.
“John, I called you here to ask about the drome you have been releasing”, Abrams said.
“Sure, what about it”, he said and sat next to me.
“How many have you sent out and how many returned”, Abrams asked.
“I sent out five and none of them and none of them returned", John said like it was nothing to worry about.
“Wait you sent five out and after the first two you didn’t think something was wrong”, I said pissed off at him.
“No, because only one was destroyed the other batteries died. I figured the wolves got to the first one and the others must have died while coming back”, John said.
“John did it ever occur to out that all of the dromes' were captured by the wolves”, I said to him trying not to get upset in front of John.
“Yeah, it did but there I no way they can see what the dromes' recorded without the codes. Even if the dromes had power", I asked getting aggravated just looking at his backstabbing face.
“John don’t send anymore dromes' out we will find another way”, Abrams said.
“I already decided that. I also found some blueprints to the pack house”, he said,
“How did you pull that off?”, I asked surprised.
“Well, I figure since the house is so old that there is no record of the original blueprint, there had to be repairs made over the years or at least add-ons. As the pack grew so did the need for construction”, John said taking long to get to the point as usual.
“How did you get it?”, Abrams asked.
“I had to dig deep. I found blueprints going back to the time when the pack added electricity to the lands”, John said s about t d with pride.
We listen as John explained that when the pack decided to join the rest of the world and add electricity. The electric company made blueprints of the main house to pinpoint when to put the electric line. He said the electric company said to give him two days to send it via mail. John is working hard I know he doesn’t want us to find Bas alive. So, what is his end game?
“Good, job John. As soon as those blueprints come, I want to see them”, Abrams.
“Is there anything else you need”, John asked with a smile. I will like to knock that smile off his face.
“Yeah, John I was wondering if the dromes have solar power capability”, I asked.
“They do but if they died and fell into a tree. Or if they died at night and someone found them and put them somewhere where there is no sunlight", John said.
John was dismissed and he left me and Abrams to I know that those dromes didn’t just die. I have a feeling that Bas took them and upload the footage on them. She is most surely got them stored in a place where there is no light. I miss her a lot for the last couple of months I have been jerking off thinking about her. I can't wait to get her back to marry her and impregnate her. We deserve our happily ever after I can’t wait to get her back in my arms.
