**Seth POV:**
The thought of Bastet leaving is rubbing me the wrong way. It felt so good to have her in my arms and the way Danny is drawn to her makes me want to keep her here. Yeah, Danny have a bond with Sol, but he doesn’t let her feed him that something a pup only let close relatives do. Shit, I still need to smooth things over with Sol. There was a knock on my door I thought it was Danny and Bastet, but it is Morton and he have a worried look on his face.
“Got a minute to talk”, he asked. I can tell he have a lot on his mind as do I, but I am the Alpha and his best friend I have to put my shit to the side.
“Yeah, sure what’s on your mind”, I said
“Sherry and I have some worries regarding Stephan”, he said, and I know where this is going.
“Legally Stephan owns half of the pack lands and we both know that he will not let me buy it from him. What are you guys worried about anyway?”, I said.
“We are worried about him intruding on our lives and our pup's life”, he said. I knew this was coming. And Morton have every right to be worried. My brother is an asshole.
“I know you are worried about the bond that you and the pup will have as well as the bond Stephan will have with the pup. Both of you will want to be the male in his life. I know my brother he would want to be a part of the pup's life rather you have clam to him or not”, I said being honest.
“You know your brother is an asshole”, he said.
“Yeah, he is but he takes family seriously even though he wants to destroy me he did save me from a hunter's bullet. I will call him in here so we can all talk about it. I don’t need any more drama around her especially when there are hunters poking their head around”, I said.
“Speaking of how is everything with the huntress?”, he asked eagerly.
“She will be calling her people to pick her up from the border” , I said.
“WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO LET HER GO!?”, he asked shocked.
“Did you forget I am promised to his sister?”, I asked. Shocked, he would even think I would turn my back on Sol.
“No, but this is your second chance at true love. Not to say my sister won't grow to love you when she gets over her own heartache”, he said.
“It’s more complicated she is newly married and pregnant”, I said with a sigh.
“Shit, I thought I had it tough. She is married and pregnant wow that’s a lot. Does she know she is your mate?”, he asked.
“Yes, I told her. She was shocked but understood we could never be. Pregnancy and marriage aside she is a huntress their commander at that”, I said trying to convince me more than him.
“What do you want Seth I was balls deep into a she-wolf's ass and I had her eating another she-wolf out”, Stephan said sounding aggravated not caring that Morton is in the room.
“We need to talk about you being here with us”, I said getting aggravated with him he is here for one day one fucking day and he is fucking the women in my pack.
“What about it we can always fight again if you want it’s up to you”, Stephan said nonchalantly.
“Did these women give their consent”, asked Morton sarcastically.
“Ask them asshole”, Stephan said.
“What is your end game Stephan”, I said growling
“Down boy, actually I am not sure anymore. Half of my men are dead, their women and children left. There are hunters lurking around, Terry left me”, he said looking sad about Terry.
“Sherry and I were talking, and we are wondering if you are going to stay here?”, Morton asked.
“I was playing on staying here for some time. I own half of the land after all and I got a pup coming”, Stephan said with pride.
“Yeah, about that you do know Morton marked and mated Sherry and the pup is considered his by law”, I said.
“So, what’s your point? We will still have a bond because he is my blood and my heir”, Stephan said.
“He is not your heir he is MINE”, Morton growled
“You expect a man of Alpha blood to be a Beta that is beneath him and both of you know it”, Stephan said with a laugh.
“We don’t want to confuse the kid Sherry is Morton’s mate who you raped to get pregnant. Think of the child if he knows he is a product of rape, it would destroy him”, I said knowing it would hit a nerve. Our father taught us our pups are gifts and we should cherish them.
“Fuck, I hate when you make sense Seth. So, what do you propose Morton”, Stephan said.
“If you are going to stay don’t interfere with MY son’s life at all”, Morton said trying to calm down.
"Nope not going to happen”, Stephan said looking at me. I know as my brother he hopes I will back him up. And as the uncle of the unborn pup, I want to.
“Can yall compromise here? The pup is my nephew and Danny’s cousin I would like for all of us to be a part of his life. Morton if you and Sherry agree as well as Stephan. Stephan can be Uncle Stephan, that way the boy will know why he have a connection with Stephan and Stephan can have a positive role in his life. Talk to Sherry about it”, I said.
“I will mind link her now”, Morton said.
Morton's mind linked Sherry they talked for a while. While we waited for an answer I thought about Bastet and Sol. I need to include both Morton and Stephan about hunters coming so close to the pack to pick up Bastet.
“She said okay”, Morton said.
“One problem down on to go. Stephan hunters will be here maybe today I am not sure yet until I talk to Bastet, they will come to pick her up”, I said
“Why you can’t be serious about letting your mate go”, Stephan said in shock
“Yes, she is married and pregnant”, I said with an attitude
“Shit that didn’t stop Morton”, he said with a smirk.
“And she is a hunter. Morton, I needed to triple the border security and Stephan your men need to help out as well. The hunters don’t know there are two separate packs here and I doubt they will care if anything goes south”, I said
“Well, I guess our Betas are going to have to work together. I will mind link Gator now and have him meet Morton outside”, Stephan said.
“And Morton thanks”, Stephan said.
“For?”, Morton asked.
“For being there for my pup”, Stephan said. The brother I love is still in there. And Morton left.
“So, you are really going to let her go”, Seth said
“I have to, and I have to talk to Sol”, I said.
“That woman is a warrior for what I see she will make a great Luna. Not for nothing, she kind of reminds me of Yvette. You know she never took shit from anyone of us”, He said with a laugh and I laughed as well because he is right even to the day, she dies she was telling us off.
“I miss her”, I said smiling.
“I do too. Not for nothing Seth, I blamed you for her death but deep down I know it was my fault. I killed the woman we both loved and for that I am sorry”, Stephan said wiping a tear
“Are you okay?”, I asked him.
“Yeah, it's just that Terry told me off before she left and she reminded me of Yvette so much”, he said wiping his tears
He told me how she was a virgin who was not afraid of him and he respected her for it. She demanded respect from him, and he gave it and some of his heart to her. Terry left knowing she may never see him again and it broke him a little more. I think she broke down some of his walls. He said there is a dragon after her thanks for her no-good ex-boyfriend and that he let her stay to keep her safe. According to him, she might have had some feelings for him as well
“Stephan tell me something why did you reject Sol”, I asked I really want to know why he let go of his chance at true happiness.
“Honestly because she smelled of you and deep down you deserve happiness. Danny deserves a mother and I could take that from either one of you again”, he said with sincerity.
“Hey Dad…. hi Uncle Stephan”, Danny said as he and Bastet walked into the office.
“Hello, little Alpha, how are you? You got big since the last time I saw you”, Stephan said looking amazed at Danny. My brother will make a great father one day.
“Bastet this is my uncle Stephan. Uncle Stephan this is my dad's mate Bastet”, Danny said and all of us were in shock.
“How do you know she is your dad's mate?”, Stephan asked.
“They were talking about it while I was sleeping. I have a good alpha hearing”, Danny said.
“Hi, Stephan nice to meet you. Seth I will like to use your phone, but I need to talk to you and your brother first okay”, Bastet said in an authoritative tone.
Danny knew that was his cue to leave he said bye to everyone and left. Stephan and I both raised an eyebrow at her she seemed unfazed by us. She is very observant she looked around my office. Then she looked straight into Stephan eyes. I know she have something to say. She is in hunter mode and she sure looks sexy. She took the hair next to Stephan and put it so that she is able to talk and see us at the same time. Wow, she is amazing fuck I don’t want her to leave.
