**McKee POV: **
It's been over a month and John is still in the infirmary. It clears he was in some sort of fight he got over two hundred stitches. But what bothers me is if Bastet did get killed where is her body? Why would they take the body of a dead hunter with them? Abrams hasn’t left the association he spends days and nights in the office with my dad and John's Uncle to plan for the war he declared. The council on the other hand wants him to retire but he refuses. He is determined to find her just as I am. John seems eager to take over but because of his injuries, he hasn’t met with the council yet to demand that Abrams retire. Honesty he doesn’t have the balls to do that. Lost in my thoughts my office phone rings and it’s the operation. He said a woman on the phone is requesting to talk to me. I wasn’t interested until he said it was about two Alphas. I told him to put the call through.
“Hello McKee, here”, I said excitedly.
“Hello McKee, I need you to get on a secured line”, a woman on the phone says.
“What a secure line, woman who are you?”, I asked she is asking for something regular people will ask.
“I am Sherry I have information on the Alphas”, she said, and I freeze.
“Hold on”, I said as I take out my cell home.
I place her on hold and transferred the call to my cell phone and hung up. If this woman has information on the Alphas I will gladly meet up with her. Even if it is a possibility it is a trap, I need to know what happened to Bastet.
“The line is secure you can talk now”, I said.
“My name is Sherry I need you to listen carefully. Whatever I say to you do not repeat and do not act. I need your word", the woman said.
“Lady I don’t know who the hell you are to ask me for my word”, I said getting mad.
“I am doing a favor for a friend I have a message for you, but I need my word first”, she said with a don’t I don’t like.
“Fine you have it?’, I said giving up I just want the information.
“I have a message from Bastet” when she said that my heart stopped.
“Bas…. she is alive?”, I said almost too loud.
“Yes, she is, and she is well. If you heard she was killed that was a lie. Someone did try to kill her, but he didn’t succeed”, she said.
“I am glad that Alpha didn’t succeed in killing her”, I said happily.
“No, it was her husband, he shot her”, my whole body heated up hearing that.
“THAT BASTARD I AM GOING TO FUCKING KILL HIM”, I yelled.
“No, you won’t you gave me your word”, the woman snapped at me.
“I know I did it I don’t know who you are lady. How do I know if you are even telling the truth? How do I know if you aren’t working with the Alphas?”, I asked getting madder and madder
“She said you might say that”, the woman said.
“Why am I not talking to her?”, I asked starting to get pissed off.
“Because if you hear her voice, she said you won’t be able to keep your word. And she said you are better than that”, the woman said.
“I need some kind of proof that you know here?”, I said hoping she tells the truth.
“ She told me to tell you. Well, maybe there's a God above. As for me all I've ever learned from love, Is how to shoot somebody who outdrew you. But it's not a crime that you're here tonight. It’s not some pilgrim who claims to have seen the Light, No, it's a cold and it's a very broken Hallelujah”, I said and it was music to my ears.
“Well people I've been here before, I know this room and I've walked this floor. You see I used to live alone before I knew ya, And I've seen your flag on the marble arch, But listen, love, love is not some kind of victory march, no, It’s a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah”, I sing she is not lying she knows Bas.
“O, my God Bas. Tell…. tell her I love her, and I didn’t believe for a second she was dead”, I start to cry.
“She knows…. Jason, she knows”, the woman said, and I could have sworn I heard Bas cry in the background and my heart hurt.
“Tell her to stop crying”, I said wiping my tears.
“How do you know she is crying”, she said surprised.
“Because every time she cries my heart hurt”, I say with a small laugh.
I know Bastet was with Sherry I wish I can talk to her. But to know she is alive and well makes me happy. Sherry and I talked and told me Bastet's plan. The plan is to act like she never called me and to plan to attack in seven months. She told me Bastet planned to reveal what happened during that time. And under no circumstance am I t to act any differently than I did before I got the call. Nor does an I to try to come and find her. Reluctantly I agreed, the woman Sherry said I will not get another phone call.
I can’t believe that bastard shot his wife. That fucking coward. I knew that Bastet have a plan and she will stick to it. I will make sure I keep an eye on John and his uncle. I am not sure if his uncle knows what happened. I need to make sure that since Bastet is alive John will surely be executed by her hand. Her being alive is dangerous for John if he is smart, he will make sure she is not alive. But he has been bedridden so I for damn sure have to keep an eye on his uncle. Hopefully after that Bastet and I can get married and have a family.
