**Vintage POV: **
Valenzano let me take control for the day because he hasn't allowed me out in a while. I have been getting on his nerves because of it. Cleopatra and I haven't been intimate in a long time. I am going to surprise her for lunch and take her out. There is a shit load of work to do, paying bills for both the pack and my outside businesses. I have been doing this by myself every since I kicked Avaya out. Avaya may have had her faults. But she did a lot in this pack, or this pack.
When Cleopatra becomes Luna officially, I will give her the job of paying bills for the pack and our other businesses. Honestly, I don't know how she does it, she is an amazing multi-tasker. Planning our mating ceremony as well as throwing a Thanksgiving dinner. I would be proud of her if I didn't think she is doing too much while she is pregnant. I guess that is the Alpha in her. Or just her trying to keep herself busy.
"Val, I am in the garden. There is a rogue here. I am alone, we need you!", I heard Cleopatra yell in my head.
Hearing Cleopatra's mind link scared me to death. I can't lose her and our pups because I failed to protect her. My office window faces the garden. I looked and I saw a rogue about 20 yards from her. I shift and jump out the window. They are so deep into their conversation that neither one of them realized my approach. Cleopatra picks up a chair ready to swing as he charges at her. She is a true warrior. A foot before the rogue could reach her, I tackled him to the ground.
Before I got a chance to check on Cleopatra, the rogue charged at me. I mind link West and a few warriors to get to the garden as soon as possible. I have no idea how many rogues are here and this one could be a distraction so Cleopatra could be hurt or captured. I felt August's presence. Now I can focus on killing this fucking rogue.
"No don't kill him", Valenzano said.
"Are you out of your fucking mind!?", I said to him. My mate is threatened, my pups are stressed, and I jumped through a fucking window. Someone was going to die.
"We need information think about it Vintage. We can't get it if he is dead". Fuck, he is right. I will enjoy interrogating him.
When he charged at me, I jumped and bit him on his neck to put him to sleep. Once he passed out. I ran to Cleopatra and licked her stomach to make sure the pups were okay. Shifting, I gave orders to take the rogue to the dungeons as well as have the warrior that was on patrol in this area to be brought to me. I am beyond pissed. This is the third time a rogue was able to get on my land without being noticed.
August passed me some shorts and stood by my side as the warriors brought the person who was supposed to be patrolling this part of the land. I can feel the worry Cleopatra is feeling. She is worried for the guard and not her self. Right now I don't care someone is going to die for this. Because I came too close to losing her and our pups. And no pleading from Cleopatra will stop someone from dying.
"I am sorry, Alpha", the warrior says, as he is thrown to the ground in front of me and August. His name is Nar.
"Nar, please explain how the FUCK a rogue found his way pass your post and nearly attacked your Luna", I said as I pointed to Cleopatra, who is standing next to Jazz.
"I'm sorry Alpha....Luna. My mate just had our pup. I have been up all night with my pup", he says as he cries, scared for his life, which he should be. Cleopatra is going to be mad at me, but I have to execute him.
"WHAT IS THE PUNISHMENT FOR FAILING TO GUARD YOUR POST!", I yelled.
"Death", he says, crying.
"Then death it is", I said.
"FUCK! Vintage don't kill him in front of Cleo. She will lose it and it's bad for the pups if she does", Valenzano said, and deep down, I know he is right, but this needs to be done.
"NO VINTAGE DON'T KILL HIM!", Cleopatra yells and everyone gasps.
"This is not up for discussion, Cleopatra", I said, not even looking at her.
"VINTAGE PLEASE HE HAVE A PUP! DON'T DO THIS!", she screams. She is creating a scene and I don't like it shit.
"Jazz takes her back into the house", I say, still not looking at anyone but the Warrior.
"NO! VINTAGE PLEASE DON'T KILL HIM!", She is crying hard, and it is disturbing our pups. She needs to calm the hell down. Their hearts are racing.
Once Cleopatra was inside the house, I dealt with Nar. He was sent to the dungeons with the rogue. His mate had been notified of his fate. I also gave him some time to spend with his mate and pup. He will be executed at dawn.
Fortunately, he has accepted his fate. All of the patrollers know the punishment for failure to patrol. My only issue now is how am I going to deal with Cleopatra after he is executed. As well as find out why the hell she left the house without telling anyone.
"I got this Bro, go and check on Cleo", August said.
"It's that bad, huh?', I asked.
"Yup, Jazz said she is hyperventilating. You might want to call the doctor as well", he said worried. My brother loves my mate probably more than he loves me. And he knows i must execute Nar. What if Jazz was alone in the garden or with Cleopatra they both would have been in danger. So, he understands our situation even if our mates don't.
I mind link the doctor to come to the house. Once he is done checking, Cleopatra will go in and talk to her. Valenzano and I decided it would be a good idea for me to stay in control until after the execution. He punk ass just don’t want to deal with Cleopatras attitude. I don't either but this needs to happen. If I execute Nar it might deter other from falling asleep on the job. His mistake could have caused me my mate and pups. I can't let that shit slide.
