**Stephan POV **
Out of all the men in this fucking world my pup mama is matted to my brother's best friend and Beta. Seth knows he can't keep her from me. Yes, she can resist coming back but I have rights to my pup. On our way out I saw a car and Danny was in it there was a scent that made my wolf howl in excitement. I ignored him and continued to walk off the lands I once called home. I gave her a time frame, but I will have my men ready for war. There is no way in hell my heir will be kept from me.
"How did it go?", Gator asked.
"Sherry is the mate to his Beta Morton", I said shaking my head.
"Damn talk about luck", he said holding in a laugh.
"I know and the worst part is he seems to accept her even though she is carrying my pup", I said frustrated.
"Damn, so I take it that she is not coming back", he says.
"I gave her a time frame to come back. If she doesn't, I will drag her out myself", I said with a growl.
"What about the law?", he asked.
"The law has no say in this situation because she is refusing to come back. Seth is not keeping her from me", I say shaking my head.
"So, war is coming sooner than later", Gator said with a shrug.
"Yup, and it could have been avoided if Sherry would accept her place here. And to think I was going to make her Luna", I say with an eye roll.
"Will you show him the same mercy he did you years ago?", Gator asked.
"Yvette is not here to save either one of us this time", I said.
"Make sure the men start training, in human form in the day and wolf form at night", I ordered.
We reached base camp, and I took out a keepsake box Yvette made for me. She loved both of us so much that she made both of us keepsake boxes to put our memories in it. One picture has me carrying Yvette's bridal style when she was fifteen. She sprained her ankle trying to prove to me she was faster than I was.
The other is her on my back during my Alpha training. My favorite is of her, me, Mom, Dad, her parents, and Seth at our high school graduation. Goddess, we were so happy and ignorant of what fate had in store for us. I blame both of us for her death. As her mate, he was supposed to protect her and keep her safe. Which is something we both failed to do so.
*** Sol POV: ***
I can't believe the shit I am hearing. What in the days of life shit is going on in this family? Two brothers in love with the same woman? What self-respecting woman would fall in love with two brothers and cause them to fight against each other?
I know the mate bond is strong but the bond between siblings is stronger. And now because of some shit, a woman did in the past my life might be in danger because of her. I need to know more if I am going to consider being his chosen mate and Luna. I know it is every girl's dream, to be a Luna but I will refuse if my life is in danger.
"Why is he a rogue?", I asked.
"Yvette made her discussion and she chose me. Stephan being him he thought I used the future Alpha card", he said with an eye roll.
"I guess he was pissed off about her decision", I said.
"Yup so pissed that my father sent him away to our uncle's pack", he said.
"It must have been hard for your father", I said with pity. How can a woman knowingly tear a family apart?
"Yes, it was hard on him. My brother pulled the “you love him more than me” card and it broke our father's heart", Seth said shaking my head.
"Please tell me what happened", I said wanting to know more. Whoever this Yvette was she was a horrible person. I would have rejected Seth and found someone else. I would have never come between two brothers.
"There was a rogue attack our father was killed. Our mother died years later from a broken heart. I told my uncle about our father he sent Stephan back for the funeral of our parents and my Alpha ceremony. After I was made Alpha, he challenged me for the title and Yvette", he said and I was shocked.
"Why would he do something like that?", I asked shocked.
"He didn't want the title he wanted her. And the only way he could have her is to fight me to the death", he said shaking his head.
I sat on the edge of my seat listening to his story. It was his first challenge as Alpha came from his brother over a woman. I listen as he tells me how Yvette pleaded with them both to not fight. How she begged Stephan to take back his challenge.
Seth said he took the challenge knowing he would have to possibly kill his brother. He said they fought, he let his wolf take over and was about to make the death blow when Yvette got between them and begged them to stop. And both of them being in love with her stopped at the sight of her tears.
This Yvette woman was Luna, and she was seen begging for another man's life in front of the whole pack some Luna she was. I can't fathom what he must have felt at that moment his own brother challenged him for the woman they both love.
She begged for his life in front of the whole pack, and he listened. What the hell he must have been a love-sick puppy. If I decided to become Luna, I would make better decisions.
"I couldn't kill him. Our parents would have never forgiven me. And Yvette would have hated me for it. I understood the love she had for him and me. I did the only thing I could do was exile him. And once that was exile no pack would take him not even our uncle's pack", he said.
"And you think he still holds a grudge", I asked.
"Yes, he will hurt anyone close to me besides Danny. He looks like his mother Stephan will never hurt him", he said.
“But wait where was your mother during all of this?”, I asked.
“She was in mourning at our uncle's pack. She left after the ceremony. Stephan made sure to challenge me right after she left”, he said.
I wanted to know how Yvette died. I wanted to ask that question so much, but I could not. He is telling me his story is hurtful enough. Not to mention the picture she was showing me. He didn't formally ask me to be his chosen mate. I think he is just giving me a heads-up before he asks, but we are a long way from that. I changed the subject by telling him about Danny and my trip.
