***John POV:***
*Bastet: Track me
Me: What! Where are you?
Bastet: Just track me and in 10 minutes I need you and the team to find me wake them up.*
What does Bastet think she is doing? Her ass better not had used herself as bait. I video conference call, everyone, telling them what needs to be done. To say McKee is pissed is an understatement. I also notice he is shirtless probably naked; I knew I should have planted a bug in their room. Anyway, after the conference, I get dressed and put on tactical gear. We have five minutes to get to Bastet location.
"Abrams is going to kick all of our asses if something happens to her", San says shaking his head.
"McKee where the fuck were you when she disappeared", I angrily yelled at asked him to walk up to him.
"John any other time I would gladly kick your ass, but right now Bas is out there. And we only have four minutes to get to her", he responds looking at the tracker.
And when the fuck did, he start calling her Bas. I know I am not crazy everyone else noticed it as well. We make our way to the location and it's a house. Michael said it is the same house the realtor showered him earlier today. I turn on the heat sensor and see that the footprints lead to the back and not the front.
Nevertheless, San with Zest checks the door and windows, and they are locked. Me, McKee, Michael, Joe, and Pell go into the backyard. The door looks like it is broken I open it and see a pharmacy bag on the floor.
Pell tries to open the door that leads into the house. With help from Joe, he gets it open, and they search the house. McKee and I look around the basement he noticed a bookshelf that looks clean. He takes a piece of paper and rips it and throws it towards the bookcase it blows back to us.
We both look for a way to get it open using the heat sensor to find a heat source and there was a button on the wall nearby. I hit the button and McKee faces it will his gun up Bastet runs out with a dagger in her hand. He dodges her attack and grabs her.
"Bas! Baby it’s me... it is me", McKee says as everyone comes to the basement.
“Jason....Jason", she was crying.
“Yes, baby it is me", we are all shocked. Shocked that her clothes are torn she is covered in blood, shocked that she called McKee, Jason. And he calling her baby. I am trying to hold my anger.
"The mission is over we are heading back to base. John call ahead and let them know he is coming and to have a medic on standby", McKee said as he carries Bastet out of the yard.
McKee ordered everyone to pack all their shit, we don't know if the wolves are aware that we were at their hiding place. But we don't want to risk it, so we leave. I watch as he carried her back to the bed and breakfast.
When I get to my room call ahead and briefly report what happened. In less than ten minutes everyone was on the combat bus. Bout the time I got there McKee had Bastet still in his arms she is now wearing his shirt. Everyone is silently staring at them and me. It is an unkept secret that Bastet and I are in a relationship.
***Bastet POV:***
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!", I hear my dad yell.
"Sir, we don't know what happened. Bastet went out on her own", Jason replied.
"McKee is right sir. She told all her plan and we agreed that she was not going through with it", John said. How is it no one knows I am awake?
"And what was the plan?", my dad asked.
"She was going to use herself as bait to find out where the rogues are hiding", Jason said.
"Will you guys keep it down my head hurts", I say. And they all turned to me with worry.
"Bastet my dear tell me what happened", dad says.
I tell them what happened after the man smelled Jason in me. I took out my dagger and stabbed him in the neck. I tried to find where the women are to help them escape. I found only one the one who just had a baby. I tried to take her, but she said she rather stay she won't leave her baby. And that she wouldn't know how to raise a wolf baby on her own. The father of the baby came back and questioned me about being out by myself and attacked me. I would have killed him, but the woman jumped in front of him. I asked her why she said she didn't know what the others will do to her or her baby if he is found dead.
But someone found the man I killed and sound an alert. The man I was going to kill gave me a five-minute head start. I ran I was near the entrance when a man tackled me to the ground. I took him out and kept running.
When I was close enough to the entrance, I threw one of the silver grenades. And that's when the team found me. All of that and I didn't get enough information. I went out on my own and didn't complete my mission. That poor woman, baby, and other women I had to leave them.
"Dear you got a very important piece of information", Dad says.
"And what is that dad", I ask disappointed in myself.
"That at least one woman was there for nine months. Which means she is not one of the women taken from the town. She came from somewhere else, which could mean their numbers are larger than we thought", dad said.
"The man did say his Alpha wants an army. But wouldn't say who his Alpha is or why he needs an army", I said.
I am starting to get tired again. I asked everyone to leave but of course, Jason insisted on staying to talk to me. Dad left to look through the data we did get to determine our next move. John reluctantly leaves, but I told him to come back in an hour. Jason sat and rubbed my thigh he is so mad he won't even look at me.
"Jason", I whisper.
"Don't! Bas, I told you your plan wouldn't work. I told you it would smell me inside you. I fucking told you not to do it", he said gritting his teeth.
"Jason if I didn't, we would not know the little info we do", I say with pleading eyes.
"FUCK THE INFORMATION I COULD HAVE LOST YOU! I JUST GOT MY BEST FRIEND BACK AND YOU PUT YOURSELF IN FUCKING DANGER", yells he is mad.
"I did what I had to do. I am sorry if you were worried about me", I hold his hand to ensure him I am here and safe.
"Worried is an understatement. I was terrified, he could have done something to you", he says as he kissed my head.
"McKee what happened in that town stays in the town okay", I say trying not to cry. I betrayed John and fell back in love with Jason.
"As you wish and I will cherish it just like I cherished our first time together", he said then left.
