**Robert POV:**
We made it back to the base camp without any issues. I am surprised I was expecting Avaya to try something. I haven't seen her since we left. I need to get my men to locate her. She knows I have Cleo by now and I don't want any issues as soon as she has those babies, we are out of here.
The sedative I gave her also had a labor inducer in it. She should go into labor, hopefully, sooner rather than later. Once she has the babies, we will stop her heart and restart it, breaking the bond she has with that Alpha. Right now, she is still asleep.
"She is more beautiful than her picture", McKee said.
"None of her pictures do her justice", I said.
"So, what is the plan when she wakes up", McKee asked.
"When she wakes up, she will feel her labor starting", I said.
"I have some men looking for Avaya. She has been quiet since we last saw her", McKee said.
"She knows where the camp is, but she has never been this far in. She thinks the is camp down there is the only one we have. If she comes here to betray me, we will be gone before she can get Cleo", I said.
The nurse checked her vitals and said she should wake up soon feeling the contractions. One of our field doctors starts setting up the room for Cleo to give birth in. Fifteen minutes later, Cleo started to stir a little hold in her stomach. She is only wearing a t-shirt with no bra or panties under it. I watch her from the security center.
"ROBERT YOU BASTARD LET ME OUT OF HERE!", she yells as she gets up and walks around the room.
"Cleo baby calm down, you will make yourself weak", I said calmly.
"I AM GOING TO RIP YOUR FUCKING HEAD OFF. WHERE AM I? WHERE IS VALENZANO? WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?", she yells, then she falls on the bed in pain.
"Baby calm down, your labor is starting", I said, trying not to panic. I do not want anything to go bad during the delivery. I could lose those babies, but I can't lose her.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO ME ROBERT!", if she had a gun, she would shoot me right now. That's how mad she is.
"Baby, I induced your labor. You will give birth today". I said smiling.
"YOU DID WHAT? YOU FOOL DO YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH? VALENZANO WILL KILL YOU IF I DON'T", she said as she rubs her side.
"Babe, calm down my love, breathe. Just breathe, I am going to go in there to check you. I won't hurt you ok", I said as I walked towards her room.
"Robert", I heard her say with tears coming out of her eyes as I opened the door.
"Robert...please don't hurt my babies. If you ever loved me, you won't hurt them", she said with pleading eyes.
"Baby, I have some pain meds. I am sorry it has to be this way, but I won't lose you again. And don't worry, I won't hurt the babies. I am willing to raise them with you. I will be back with some water for you", I said as I left.
"So, I am guessing she is pissed off", McKee said with a smirk.
"Yes, she is, very. She has always had a temper and her being pregnant doesn't help it either", I say as I bring the water to her.
**McKee POV:**
When Robert brought Cleo back, I was surprised at how much she resembled my Bas. This woman is extremely pissed off. She looks like she wants to kill Robert. He has his work cut out for him if he wants her to stay with him. He is sure once the mate bond is broken, she will want to stay with him.
She would think her Alpha had died and not want to raise the were babies by herself. She would stay with Robert. We watch her without the sound on, as Robert and the nurses time her contractions. However, I noticed she was saying something, and I turned the sound on.
"Hallelujah, Hallelujah; Hallelujah, Hallelujah", I haven't heard that song since Bas.
"Robert, what is that she is singing?", I asked.
"It's a song she sings when she is stressed out. Why?", he asked, confused.
"Someone that meant so much to me. Us to sing that song when she is stressed", I said, looking at Cleo.
"Well, maybe there's a God above. As for me all I've ever learned from love Is how to shoot somebody who outdrew you. But it's not a crime that you're here tonight. It's not some pilgrim who claims to have seen the Light; No, it's a cold and it's a very broken Hallelujah", she sings and my heart stops.
"Hallelujah, Hallelujah; Hallelujah, Hallelujah", I sing as I walk to her room.
"Well people, I've been here before; I know this room and I've walked this floor; You see I used to live alone before I knew ya. And I've seen your flag on the marble arch; But listen, love, love is not some kind of victory march, no; It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah", I sing as I look at her with tears in my eyes.
"Who are you", she asked the same question I was going to ask. She covers her fear well just like my Bas did.
"My name is McKee, and I am Robert's superior", I said as I looked at her, I saw a necklace and looked at it.
"Where did you get this", I asked her to hope she would say what I think she would say.
"It...it was my mother", she said, holding the pendant.
"Bas", I whisper.
"Yo...you know my mother?", she asked, surprised.
"I know her. I loved her. Still do, she was my best friend. I gave her this necklace as a wedding gift some thirty years ago", I say as I point to her necklace.
