**Valenzano POV: **
I am glad she agreed to help Jazz with the brunch. I gave her the list of packs that will attend the gathering. She overlooks it and I hear her heart stop. I looked up to see worry and fear on her face. She gave me the list back and withdrew her office to cohost the brunch. I need to know why the sudden change in her. I asked and she told me her story. It took everything in me to stay calm and not show emotion.
I would never have guessed that my Luna was living in the world of shifters under my nose. Now that I think about it, I have visited her pack before. She must have been 10 years old when the Alpha introduced me to his children.
I guess the Moon Goddess does work in mysterious ways. As she continued to tell her story, tears started to escape her eyes. I wiped her tears away, my heart ached for her. No wonder she stayed away from the shifter world.
"Cleo baby, listen to me. As long as I am alive no one will ever hurt you", Goddess help the person who tries to hurt my mate.
"It's not me I am worried about. I don't want another pack destroyed because of me", she has so much sincerity in her voice.
"You will make an excellent Luna. But you have nothing to worry about", I said as I kissed her forehead.
"She doesn't know we will destroy every pack in the world to protect her", Vintage says.
"She doesn't and hopefully she will never have to find out. I think she would blame herself if we started killing people to protect her", I say, trying to calm Vintage down.
"We will have to keep her close next week, especially around Don, the Alpha of the Dragon Moon pack", Vintage says with a growl.
"We will kill everyone in his pack if he so much as breathes on her the wrong way", I said, gritting my teeth.
***Jazz POV: ***
"Cleo, West said he and Valenzano would be handling pack business all afternoon. So, it's just me and you", I said as I bump into her.
"Cool, let's go out. I saw a hair salon yesterday. I need to get a blowout to want to go", she asked, trying to run her fingers through her hair.
"Yeah, I can touch up my hair dye since I don't have the hair problems you have", she said with a smile.
"I know you're happy that you didn't go natural like me", I said, laughing.
"Very happy the way West and I be going at it I would need a blowout every week", I said, laughing.
I left West a note to tell him where we were going. We stayed on the pack lands; I convinced Cleo to get a wax since she is years overdue. I think Valenzano would appreciate it. We went to the Spring Valley salon; they have everything here. Hair, nails, massages, wax. So, they made it a spa afternoon.
We talked about the guys; the way she talks about Valenzano makes me smile. The mate bond has really grown. We are in the café at the spa snacking on some good food. Without hair, nails, waxes, and messages did we feel great.
"So, when will you let West mark you?", Cleo asks.
"I'm not sure he asked me that a lot lately", she said looking sad.
"Jazz, you wanted this forever, to be mated to a shifter and you don't know when you will let him mark you", Clo said shocked.
"Cleo, my mate is a Beta which means once he marks me, I will have to move in with him, have a mating ceremony so I can be linked to the pack", I said, hoping she get what I mean.
"So, what is the problem? That is what you always wanted", she asked me, looking confused.
"Cleo I will have to leave you", I finally said what I did not want to get out.
"Jazz do not stop your life for me, you have been the best friend anyone could ask for", she says with a smile.
"Thanks, Girl", I said, hugging her.
"And besides, Valenzano said I can visit anything I want; I will actually have my own room", Cleo said excitedly.
"Speaking of Valenzano, how do you really feel about him", I asked eagerly.
"I love going to sleep in his arms and waking up to him in the morning. I feel so safe and secure in his arms. Like right now I am getting kind of eager to be near him", she said, with his music to my ears.
"Y'all will make a great couple Cleo and I know he loves you", I said and she looked at me like I am crazy.
"Jazz, he can't love me. He doesn't even know me", she said, shaking her head.
"Cleo, it's different with shifters", I said.
"Jazz, you act like I don't know what shifters are like I grew up in a pack, remember", she is starting to annoy me.
"Cleo, are you seriously giving him a chance?", I need her to give him a chance and get the bond to do it work.
"Jazz, I told him myself we would see. But I do plan on going home once the building is fixed", she said like it is nothing.
"If that was what you chose to do, you need to talk to him about it before you leave", I am actually acting like the protective sister.
I know Cleo have been hurt by that asshole Robert. And what he did have a huge effect on her. Is doesn't want to let another man in. It was a mircle that she let Robert in after what happened to Danny. Evern thought he was her step-brother he was it for her. I remember one time she said she would have sold her soul to get him back. She let her guard down after that Danny and ran into Roberts arms. ALl from him for fuck it up at the worst time.
