Chapter 139: Guilty Liar
“Do you understand me?” Julian’s voice was sweet as honey, coating sinister words.
I gulped. Am I nervous?
I still bitterly frowned. “Yeah, whatever. But if you hurt Amy, I will *never* forgive you.”
Julian’s smile stretched. I couldn’t tell whether he took my words seriously. Part of me already knew that all he cared about was our love and that Amy was just another obstacle.
I resisted a cough when he tugged at my dog collar and unlocked it with the same key. I rubbed my sore neck, feeling the tension slowly release. Once the pressure lifted, I finally felt like I could take in deep, unrestricted breaths.
Julian took my hand and kissed the back of it. His soft lips left a trail of kisses going up my arm. My goosebumps returned, but not from arousal. What disturbed me the most was that the ‘love’ in his eyes was more intense than ever before. “Let’s get you all dressed up, shall we?”
I didn’t respond again. *Fucking dressed up? Yeah right… you might be able to hide my bandaged thigh, but there was no hiding these hands.*
The handsome man went through his dresser and pulled out one of my baggy jeans. This threw me off guard. Why the fuck does he have *my* clothes in *his* dresser?! Julian returned to me once he found one of my favorite black tank tops and dressed me up himself. I couldn’t resist a pained shriek when he slid on my jeans, even though he was doing his best to be careful with me.
“I’m sorry,” He apologized with a kiss on my cheek. I turned my head away.
*Fuck you.*
When he slid my nightgown over my head, I felt my face uncontrollably burn when my waist-up was left naked. His eyes felt like fire scorching my caramel skin as he stared at every part of me.
Before I could get sassy, he spoke. “They’re getting swollen.” One of Julian’s hands cupped my heavy breast. I tensed up.
“Well, no shit… what did you expect?”
Julian’s hand gently massaged it, relieving the tightness temporarily. As much as I hated to admit it, I enjoyed the feeling until his thumb brushed my nipple and my vagina naturally clutched up.
“Julian…” I struggled to keep my composure.
“Did that feel good?” He leaned down and kissed my forehead like always. “I’ll give you some more tonight. I’ll take care of you.” I could tell he meant it each time he said it, but it never comforted me. It filled me with more unease. He took in a deep breath when pressing his nose against my hair, breathing in my scent like a drug. His voice shook with restraint. “Let’s wrap this up.”
Despite what he said, he still took his sweet time combing my hair after sliding on my tank top. Julian then picked me up bridal style again while carrying me downstairs, positioning me like a doll before Amy could arrive.
“What did you tell her?” I bluntly confronted him once I was sitting. “Other than we’re in love, you got me pregnant, and that our parents are still here?”
The sweetness in Julian’s eyes faded like a snap of fingers. It made me recoil with regret. I really didn’t want to get spanked again. My mouth remained tightly shut as he walked in front of me and lifted my chin. His touch was delicate, but the blue embers in his eyes were cold as ice. Threateningly.
“I’ll only say this once. Be a good girl and everything will be fine. Including Amy.”
My hesitation flew into outrage. “You motherfucker–you said you wouldn’t harm her!”
“I agreed to no such thing.” Unlike me, Julian was as calm as motionless water. “Whether or not she ends like the hag is completely up to you.”
My jaw gaped. I couldn’t believe he’d say such a thing. Usually, Julian’s words were sweet and his tone was kind, his voice as beautiful as a melody. But the only thing I heard and felt from him was mercilessly callous. Not even I have ever been that dark before.
*This isn’t Julian… is it? …No. The Julian I knew never existed.*
My chest stung at that realization. I had come to like the man he was, but now I was uncertain if there ever was a man like that. Was I really this big of an idiot the entire time??
I turned my head away from him sharply. “Fuck you, Julian. When this is all over, you can go straight to hell.” My hostile growl ended with a jolt when I heard a car’s roaring engine come up the driveway.
Julian placed a blanket on my lap to hide my bandaged hands under before taking a seat at my side and laying his arm across the back of the couch behind me. “I hope your skills as a liar shine bright tonight.”
“Fucking bastard…!” I quietly snarled through my teeth as I struggled to get my emotions under control. The reason why I was an open book was because my emotions reflected off of my expression.
*Calm down. Calm down. Calm down.*
Amy burst through the doors with a loud shout. “SUKIA!”
*Oh, fuck me.*
I take in a deep, shaky breath in an attempt to slow my pounding heart before forcing a smile on my face. “Heyyy, Amy. Long time no see, eh?”
*Smooth, Suki. Smooth.*
Amy ran into the living room to see me but halted when she spotted Julian nestled at my side. “What’s going on?” She looked between the two of us. “Sukia??”
“What?” I tilted my head. “Did something happen?”
“What do you mean what?? YOU happened!” Amy’s voice raised further.
“Amy, I’m not a mind-reader. Spit it out already.”
“Are you seriously pregnant with his child?” Amy’s face was red with rage.
I couldn’t keep the guilt off of my face. I felt pathetic. “...Yeah. Yeah, I am.”
“What? But–but after everything you said! He’s–”
“I was wrong.” I interrupted her. “I was wrong about a lot of things. You know how I overreact. Fuck, I’ve been overreacting my entire life. You know that better than anyone.”
“Yes, with a good reason for doing so! You overreact because you’re passionate, Suki. You don’t overreact for attention seeking!”
I bit my tongue. This was harder than I thought.
“She didn’t want to bother you further,” Julian cut in, trying to help me out.
Julian’s input made a furious fire light up in Amy’s eyes, something I didn’t see often. I quickly elbowed Julian in the ribcage, making him wince.
“He’s right.” I had no choice but to follow his lead. “I made you worry for no reason. How could I tell you that I’m–I’m in love with him?” Fuck. I felt a sour taste in my mouth that made me stumble over the ‘love’ part. “One thing led to another and, so, yeah… we’ll be getting married in a couple of weeks.”
I could feel Julian’s body heating up beside me and when I looked up at him from the corner of my eye, I caught him blushing up a storm. I had almost forgotten how much of an impact my words and actions left on him.
Amy looked between us, her fury twisting into being upset. “And Isabella? What does she have to say about this?”
“Mom is…” I didn’t want to say it, but I knew what I needed to say to get Amy to believe me. “Mom is happy that I’m happy, too. I’m finally living my life, just like you’ve always wanted. Right?”
Amy looked taken aback and her eyes watered. The memory of our conversation the night before my mom took me to this mansion must’ve crossed her mind.
“...Right,” Amy whispered. “That’s all I wanted for you… for the both of you.”
There was a silence between the three of us. Julian had enough common sense to keep his mouth shut this time if he wanted this to work out. I was about to speak up and break the silence, but a fourth voice interrupted us.
“Ha!” Grace said from the doorway, her expression lit with amusement. “You can’t be serious!”
