Chapter 16

Getting along with Cherry.
MIRIAM'S POV
I slept for a very long time and I must say I haven't rested this much for a long time now.
I was still lying on Cherry's lap. She too had fallen asleep.
It was just the both of us in the sitting room. I could not see Ivy around. I didn't want to wake Cherry up so I quietly went up from her legs. There was a glass of orange juice on the table but I wasn't sure who kept it so I ignored it.
. I was sweating profusely when I woke up. On my way to the room, I heard voices but I wasn't sure where it was coming from so I ignored it and continued to where I was going.
As I came closer, it became clear. It was Daniel and Ivy. They seemed to be lost in the conversation and they were having a good time too.
I was bothered about the content of their discussion. I really wanted to know what they were talking about but I thought it wise to ignore them.
"Miriam, you are awake?" Daniel said as he left Ivy and walked towards me.
"Yeah." I muttered and walked faet into my room but he hastened up and met me at the door.
Ivy came behind him and they both took a seat on my bed even before I was able to settle in.
The whole atmosphere in the room is just not normal for me. I felt really uncomfortable, I didn't know if it was their presence or it was me overreacting.
I wanted to apologise to Daniel for attacking him and also to Ivy for frightening her.
She was clearly scared to come close to me earlier today. Maybe if Cherry was not home she would have just left me all by myself.
My instinct kept telling me to apologise but I could not find the voice to do so. Thus I kept staring at them just as they were staring at me.
All of a sudden, Cherry walked into the room. I suspected Daniel and Ivy sent signals to her to come up stairs because she was fast asleep when I left her.
She too took her place on the bed and all six eyes were on me. I felt really different from them and of course I was different. I have been away for quite a long time and they have been together all along.
I felt like I was missing out on something and I really needed to be caught up.
"Miriam." Cherry started and I felt some kind of relief. I was already racing through my head thinking of what was on their minds. As she broke the silence that beclouded us, I felt some chills and brought my mind back to the room. I mean my mind has travelled far already.
"We love you and you need to know that. I personally wasn't comfortable around you the first time but u later found that you are the sweetest person I have met. Just stay calm and allow us to look after you." She continued and I really enjoyed hearing her beautiful voice.
Later I recalled what she said was a trick to get my mind off my target. I construed it as her telling me to let go of my crown for Daniel so she can be Luna.
"Just as she said Miriam," Ivy started and I felt so disgusted at her immediately but I didn't know why. I tried all I could to suppress the feeling but I couldn't and before she could finish her statement, I shut her up.
"What has come over you Miriam?" Daniel asked immediately. I spoke harshly to Ivy and I blasted him immediately. I expected Cherry to be angry but instead, she defended me from everyone else..
"Men, I love this girl." My wolf said with a feeling of accomplishment and I just smiled.
"Can you all leave?" I said and they stood up immediately.
"Please stay with me." Said as I held back Cherry.
" Sure," she responded and I smiled while the other two walked out.
"What would you like me to help you with?" She asked me and I just smiled.
" Nothing. Just sit here and wait for me while I have my bath.
" That's fine then, I will be waiting." She responded and I felt so happy.
By the time I entered the bathroom, I found that the place was clean already. There was no single trace of blood. This was something I expected though, we had servants around.
While I was in the bathroom, Cherry kept telling one story after another. She told me about her family, her grandmother who happens to be a custodian of some of the sacred powers in the wolf pack, her social life and all.
She also gave me a detailed explanation about how she lost her babies and all she had to say. I was actually enjoying her company and the numerous stories she was telling me so I stayed long in the shower.
After a while, I stopped hearing her voice so I called her but I got no response. Words could not describe how scared I became at the moment so I had to rush out of the bathroom.
I came out and found her lying on the bed. I placed my hand on my chest and tried to calm myself down from the apprehension.
She was sleeping. I was sure she hadn't had enough sleep before they woke her up.
I gently lifted her legs which were on the floor and placed them on the bed.
When I was done dressing up, I joined her in bed again and I slept off yet again as soon as my body touched the bed. I did sleep like someone that was just waking up from what seems like a marathon sleep.
I actually slept longer than her because by the time I woke up, she was up with a tray of food in her hand. She woke me up.
"It seems all you love doing is cook." I teased her and she couldn't help her laughter. I joined her too as I sat comfortably on the bed so I could eat the food before me.
"This tastes good." I commended her as I took the first spoon. It was noodles and scrambled eggs she served me with. She also came with her own food and we ate happily and shared jokes.
When we were done eating, she suggested we take a walk around the building which I readily accepted and jumped out of the bed with all the energy I had.
"Take it easy Miriam." She cautioned me but I couldn't help the excitement. I ran off as fast as I could, waiting for her to catch up with me..
I saw Ivy and Daniel as I came out but I ignored them as much as I could. Good enough they did not bother me either.
When Cherry finally creeped out, we began our walk and conversation.
"You need to listen to what Daniel has to say . He has a lot to spill." Cherry said.
"Do you have an idea of what he wants to tell me?" I asked her and she responded negatively.
"But I think it is urgent and about the wolf pack." She added and she held my hand with both hands and walked me into the building.
"Hi Miriam." Daniel said as we entered the sitting room.
"I'm sorry Daniel, I was just upset and I didn't know how else to express myself." I apologised as soon as he spoke to me.
"It is okay. I perfectly understand and I am not angry with you at all." He replied as he walked to me and held me on my shoulders.
'I see all you are doing." I stated as I took his hands off my shoulders.
"You need to rest, so go in there and have some rest. " He said as he held my cheeks in his palm. I felt so good and I just kept smiling then he hugged me again.
"I have spent all my day sleeping and doing nothing. So I am strong enough to have this conversation." I told him but he insisted I rest my bones a little.
I saw that Ivy was not flowing with us because Cherry joined in my conversation with Daniel later.
"Ivy, I'm so sorry." I said and she walked up to me immediately.
"It's fine Miriam. I am the one who should be sorry. I didn't know how else to respond to the situation. I'm sorry." She said and I hugged her tightly.
After all, we sat there and watched a program on the television sharing our thoughts about it.
"So tell me what you wanted to tell me." I said to Daniel and he sat up in his chair.
"Come here." He beckoned on me to come closer to him and he opened his arms wide.
I got up and sat in between his legs in the available space that was on the couch.
"I will tell you all about it but not now and here. We need some privacy while having this conversation." He explained and pulled me closer, placing my head on his chest.
"Can you please get us something to eat?" Ivy told the cook as he walked into the sitting room to answer her.
"Alright." He responded as he walked out.
"I intend to visit the blood moon pack soon." I told Daniel.
" You want to tell Christopher about your pregnancy?" He asked me and I didn't know what response to give him.
I really didn't know why I wanted to go over there but I felt I needed to.
"You should concentrate on why you are here first. Have a clear cut picture of everything first before doing something else." He advised me I nodded. I was comfortable and felt like a burden left me.
"You all enjoy yourselves." Ivy said, rising to her feet.
" Where are you going?" I asked her, surprised that she was leaving.
" I have not been home for days now. I really need to leave." She replied and then it dawned on me that she has actually been around for a while now.
"What about the food you asked the cook to prepare?" Daniel asked her and she insisted she could not wait for it any longer.
Daniel offered to walk her out but she refused stating that she could go by herself and she walked out of the door.
"I have offended Ivy." I said to Daniel with so much guilt in my mind.
"You were only being a bitch and I am sure she understands. Don't break your head, she will come along." He tried to comfort me and I found some solace.
"Thank you Daniel." I said to him as Cherry walked in.
"Where is Ivy?" She asked as soon as she got in. She had followed the cook to prepare the food.
"She has gone home." Daniel responded and she sat down beside us.
I thought to give them some space so I pretended I needed to use the restroom and they obliged me.
I spent some good time in my room staring at myself. I noticed some good changes already and I was beginning to hate myself already. I have never seen this version of me before and it felt so strange.
