Chapter 21

Searching for truths.
CHRISTOPHER'S POV
I sat in the garden with Louise for a long time and we had a good time chatting and talking about random things.
It was my first time being an alpha and I really didn't know much about it and what it takes to be a good leader.
I just craved the position and I did all I could to get it. All thanks to this lady sitting by me. Just reward for her efforts.
I won't regret my decision cause the current situation doesn't allow me to .
"About our wedding, how do you want it to be?" I asked Louise and the smile on her face widened. With the expression on her face, that was the very question she had been waiting for me to ask.
It seems like she was not even interested in the other conversations we were having but she had to keep up with it.
"Your wedding with Miriam is a picture perfect. I loved every bit of it. Everything was so organised and in place and I couldn't help but wish I was the one." She said with smiles and her hands making gestures of how things were that day.
I had always known she was very jealous of Miriam. She clearly wanted everything she had and she is getting them one after another.
No wonder she has already started using the few things Miriam left behind.
"So you want exactly what Miriam had?" I asked her, waiting for a resounding yes and she didn't fail me.
"Yes, Chris, yes. I want all she had at her wedding and even more. Exactly that but with a touch of more class." She added holding my both hands as though she was asking for a favour.
"All Miriam had was class, where would you want to get the extra class from?" I asked her because I actually didn't understand what she meant by more class.
"I know everything was perfect for Miriam but I want mine to be even more perfect than what she had." She responded with a little grin on her face that made her look like a baby.
"Look, your wedding with Miriam was a long time ago and what she was perfect and class then. I want what is in fashion now. Please don't deny me that." She further explained and I just kept looking at her.
"You sound like you have never had a wedding before." I told her and she gave me an awful look.
"This is my first and only wedding with you. So please don't think of it as an ordinary wedding.
"You will have to make plans towards it. Tell me all you need and I will provide it." I said and stood to my feet.
"Are you leaving already? Did I say something wrong?" She asked, still squeezing her face in an awkward manner.
"Please take off that look, it doesn't fit you." I told her and she started smiling again.
She stood up to her feet too and held me around my waist. Only Miriam did that whenever she wanted to spend time with me. I really missed her presence but I had no other choice than to make do with what I have and that is Louise.
"Why are you holding me that way?" I asked her and I felt her smile although I could not see it.
"Does it remind you of something?" She asked, still holding on to me.
"I'm here now, doing all the things she did so you don't get to miss her one bit." She responded, probably feeling proud of herself and her accomplishment.
"Do you think you can ever replace Miriam?" I asked her as I turned to face her.
Her countenance changed immediately and I really did not care.
"What then am I if I cannot make you forget her?" She asked almost in tears.
"Well darling, you can't be lucky all the time." I told her and walked away.
" So why did you kiss me?" She screamed at me and I had to stop. I prayed no one else heard it .
