Chapter 86

The kidnap and investigations
MIRIAM'S POV
A few days later, I picked up my phone to call Chris to know what his plans for the wedding are.
He picked up on the first ring as though he had been waiting to hear from me.
We exchanged pleasantries for a while then moved over to the main purpose of the call.
He told me that his marriage with Louise is fast approaching and he really needs to get done with it.
Thus, I decided to move back to the blood moon pack so I can sign the divorce papers and also attend their wedding.
"Cherry will be discharged today." Daniel announced as he walked into the kitchen where I was standing and gave me a hug.
"That's great news, you should go get them as soon as you can." I said and he nodded.
"Would you come along?" He asked and I dropped the cup in my hand.
"I am making plans to travel," I said and he left what he was doing to face me.
"Where exactly?" He asked.
"To the blood moon pack." I answered.
"The last time you went there, it took you years to return." He teased me and I laughed.
"I am not going there to marry Chris. I just need to sign the divorce papers." I said.
"He could actually get the papers to you here, you do not have to travel." He said trying to dissuade me from traveling.
"I want to attend the wedding." I told him.
"If that's what you want." He said.
I held him from behind and assured him that I would be just fine.
"I could cancel if you think it will be a bad idea." I told him whilst still holding him.
"I trust your judgment." He answered with a beautiful smile and hugged me.
"Where are the occupants of this house?" Ivy's voice was so loud that it was clearly heard even as it was coming from the living room.
"Over here." Daniel screamed so she could hear him too.
And she walked into the kitchen that moment.
"Hey best friend." I moved over to hug her.
"I have missed you and I am so proud of you." She said as she tightened her grip.
"Thank you." I managed to pull out of her arms and looked at her face.
"My father sent his regards. He never thought it would be as easy as it was." She stated.
"Neither did I think it would be that easy either. I looked forward to fighting for a few months." I said and we all started laughing.
"I'm off to the hospital." Daniel walked out of the kitchen.
"What will he be doing there?" She asked and I was surprised.
"To get Cherry, of course." I reminded her and he shrugged.
"Where are we going today? We really need to hang out because I need the details of everything." She said and dragged me out of the kitchen.
"I know but I don't have so much time at the moment." I said and Ivy let go of my hand and folded hers.
"Why that face?" I added.
"Don't tell me you would not even rest." She complained.
"I need to go to the blood moon pack." I announced and she almost raised her voice at me.
"And why is that?" She managed to say softly.
"To sign the divorce papers and attend the wedding." I answered.
"When will you be leaving?" She asked.
"I want to go today. The wedding is in a few days, I need to sign the papers as soon as possible." I explained the urgency of the situation to her and she shook her head.
"Should I come with you?" She offered to accompany me.
"That will not be necessary." I told her and she agreed.
Thereafter, we rushed to the room to get ready and in no time, I was ready for the trip.
Ivy instructed the servants to get my car ready as we walked down stairs.
"I think I should wait for Daniel to return." I said as I sat on the couch.
"Are you sure about this?" Ivy asked me again and I assured her I wanted to do this.
We got into a little chit chat while we waited for Daniel to return.
About two hours later, they arrived and the joy on Daniel's face was one that could not be described.
Cherry was carrying a baby while Trish and Daniel carried their luggage.
"Welcome home Cherry." I hugged her after she handed over the baby to Ivy who seemed not to see anyone else apart from the baby.
"Thank you, I missed you." She smiled and squeezed my hand.
"It's good to have you back." I added.
"Welcome, Trish." I said hello to Trish who was already climbing the stairs.
She managed to turn back and smile.
"It seems you are going somewhere." Cherry said as she looked down at my bag.
"Yeah, I'm traveling. I will be back in a few days." I told her.
"Okay, I will be waiting." She said and hugged me again.
"Let's go." I told the servant who was standing by and he carried my luggage to the car.
I followed him as I tried to take my phone out of my pocket as it was ringing.
"You didn't even let us settle." Daniel complained.
"I just wanted to see you all before leaving, else I would not be here by now." I said and he smirked.
"Good luck," he added as I closed the door behind me.
Looking at the phone in my hand, the number that has been calling was one not registered on my phone. I decided to ignore the call at first but as I sat in the car, I called back.
There was no response from the call when I called but the call was returned almost immediately.
"I think I have news for you." Was all the caller said and hung up. Thus I became very curious as I wasn't ready for any other thing than this one I was already on.
I had to call back to know what was going on but he insisted I meet him somewhere which is something I decided not to do.
I called Daniel and informed him of the situation. Moments later, it began to rain and there was traffic.
I regretted embarking on this journey at this time. It was evening already, I should have waited until morning.
"How long do we have before we get there?" I asked the driver who seemed not to hear me.
As the traffic progressed gradually, I was certain I would get to the blood moon pack soon.
I called Chris and informed him that I was on my way. And before I got off the phone with him, two strangers were already seated in my car. One was seated at the front and the other by my side.
I could not place how they got in, I just saw them and I was so startled.
"What is this all about?" I asked them and the one sitting by my side showed me a gun.
My driver was beginning to shake on the steering wheel and I tried to calm him down.
He was instructed to take a diversion and I told him to obey them so we don't get hurt.
"Where are you taking us?" I asked them but there was no response.
I tried to press on them but they wouldn't say a word.
"We are close to our destination." The one in front announced as he kept giving directions to my driver.
However, we drove for up to an hour and even more but we still didn't get there.
"Is this some sort of joke?" I screamed at them.
"I will advise you to remain calm." The guy in front stated and I picked up my phone to call Daniel.
As soon as he picked it up, the phone was snatched from me by the intruder.
"She has been kidnapped." Was all he said and hung up.
I stayed as calm as possible because I am sure that they are not my match in any way.
By the time we got to the place we were diverted to, it had stopped raining.
Daniel kept calling my phone but this man would not hand it over to me.
We were led out of the car into a very majestic building and kept in the living room.
"Can I have my phone now?" I demanded and with gestures, he was asked to return my phone. I dragged it from him as I took my seat.
My driver sat beside me.
"You will be here for a few days." The man who appears to be the leader of the team said and I asked why.
"I called you earlier, remember?" He started.
"I told you I wasn't interested in whatever it is you wanted to say." I interrupted.
"Well, what I have to share with you appears to be more important so I had to get you here." He explained as he opened his mouth lightly so the smoke in his mouth escaped and disappeared into the air.
"Can I get some water please?" I demanded and he ordered his servants to get it.
After drinking the water, I was led to a room where I spent the night. My driver was taken elsewhere and my phone taken away from me too.
The next day, we were offered some food but I refused to eat. I was just bothered about my journey to the blood moon pack. I didn't want to disappoint Christopher, he did his own part of the bargain and I must perform mine too.
"Look, I have things to do and I cannot just sit here." I said but the miscreant I was speaking to was busy popping smoke out of his mouth.
"Do you do anything else apart from smoking?" I asked and he smiled.
"Give me my phone, I need to make some calls." I told him.
"You will get your phone soon." He said as he stood up and left the living room.
"How the hell am I going to just sit here when I have things to do." I screamed.
I was becoming pissed off because of the way they were watching me. I can't remember being held hostage all my life until today.
Are there plans to get us out of here soon?" My driver walked up to me and asked me this question.
I couldn't get a response from him at the moment because I have not been able to speak with Daniel nor have I reached any other person that could be of help.
"Let's just keep watching what will happen." I said to him and I could see the disappointment on his face as he walked away from me.
As I sat down I kept hoping that these guys would at least give me back my phone or get us out of here.
"I think this will interest you." My abductor said as he threw some papers on the table in front of me.
I  opened it and all I could see were pictures.
"What am I supposed to do with these pictures?" I asked him but he did not respond.
"If you take a closer look, you will see that you will be interested in the details." He said after a while of being silent.
I examined the pictures carefully and I discovered that they were the pictures of Christopher's late elder brother which was taken at his death.
Christopher's brother was murdered and nobody did anything to find his killers even though he was the alpha of the blood moon pack as at when he died.
"Did you find his killers?" I asked him hoping to get a positive response from him but he told me that I already know who did it and I began to wonder when I started being associated with assassins.
"I honestly do not know what you're talking about. If you really want to help me find the killers, please do and stop wasting the little time we have." I said to him and took a seat beside me.
" From my investigations i found with that christopher is the mastermind of his brother's death." He stated and stood up again. Those words that just came out from his mouth shocked me to my bones.
Christopher cried the most when his brother died. How can it be true that he masterminded his own brother's death? Could it be that he did this so that he can be alpha or was he pushed into it?
All these questions and more run across my mind but I couldn't get answers to any of them.
"Are you sure about what you are saying?" I stood up and walked towards the young man who had just broken this news to me.
He cleared his throat and looked straight into my eyes.
"You have no idea what that man has done." He said and his breath was almost choking me.
"Does Louise have anything to do with this?" I asked him and he kept pointing his index finger at me.
"Please tell me what I need to know now." I said to him instead he handed me my phone and told me i could make whatever calls i needed to make.
The first number I dialed was that of Daniel, he had also been trying to reach me all along but could not because my phone was taken away from me.
I told him about what I just heard and he informed me that he had also heard about something like that before now.
"How come you never told me all this while?" I screamed at him because I was angry that he kept such vital information away from me.
He told me he couldn't tell me because he was not sure of it, besides I was still with Christopher at the time he heard it.
I was completely dumbfounded as I tried to analyze everything I just heard.
"I need to leave now. Could you please take me out of this place?" I told my captor.
"Not so fast." He said and walked away.
I tried to get the location of this place but it was very difficult because the network connection was poor.
After several failed attempts I decided to stay put and wait for them to take me out at their own time.
Whoever this person is, he seems to have some scores with christopher. I was already beginning to hate him too because I could not tell why he should kill his brother just because he wanted to become alpha.
When he came back he told me that Louise had always wanted to be with Christopher. She assisted him get rid of his brother and in exchange he will marry her.
This explains why he's so attached to her.
"And your divorce with Christopher was also planned, although Christopher was not part of the plan." A lady walked into the room with those words coming out of her mouth.
