Chapter 87

The final judgment
MIRIAM'S POV
I was more than surprised to hear all of this, I couldn't believe that Louisa and Christopher had been an item all along.
Thinking further, I began to doubt the pregnancy.
I had to reach out to a few people, particularly the maids that were attending to Luisa while I was still in the blood moon pack.
They demanded that I give them a little time and later that evening they called me to give me feedback.
After some thorough investigations, it was found that Louise was never pregnant, the whole miscarriage drama was just to get me out of the house and out of their way.
For a moment I became really glad that I left Christopher. I would be associated with all of these if I was there.
"So what do you intend to do with him now?" I asked the person who just gave me all this information.
"You are the Omega alpha, what you decide is final." The lady said.
I gave it a quick thought and I decided that Christopher and everyone that participated in the death of his brother must be brought to book.
"He must be punished and that is final." I said and for the first time a smile appeared on the face of my abductor.
"So how do we go about it?" He asked. I needed to get Daniel involved so I picked up my phone and called him.
"Are you sure you are going to get him punished?" He asked me again and I assured him that I will. With that he allowed us to go.
Instead of going to the blood Moon pack, I went back to the silvermoon pack. I needed to meet Daniel for some advice.
As soon as I got home, Daniel started apologizing for not telling me about Christopher's involvement with the death of his brother.
I told him it was fine and also assured him that the major thing was getting Christopher and his accomplice punished.
"We will leave tomorrow." I told Daniel as I found my way to my room.
I could not even speak to any other person apart from him.
The night seemed to be too long as all I could do was pace around while thinking of what I could do to Christopher when I got there.
I woke up and found myself in the living room then it dawned on me that I fell asleep there.
I stood up and rushed to my room and freshened up and before any other person could wake up Daniel and I were already on our way to the blood Moon pack.
Cherry's call came in while we were on our way and we assured her that we will be back in no time.
The ride was quite fast and we got there earlier than expected.
Christopher gave us a warm reception and told me that he had expected me a long time ago.
I refuse to disclose my whereabouts to him but I told him about the findings I made concerning the death of his brother.
Christopher did all he could to deny every allegation leveled against him. When he saw that the facts were clear and that he must pay for everything that he has done who tried to attack us forgetting that times have changed.
I held his throat with one hand and warned him to stay calm.
"I am no longer your mate. I am Miriam the alpha of the silver moon pack. You don't mess with me." I said as I let go of him.
Louise came over and was ready for banter, I simply ignored her and ordered that the council of elders be invited.
Christopher begged me not to involve the elders stating that we would both settle it amicably.
"This has gone way beyond me Christopher Justice must be served." They responded as I sat down.
Daniel stood behind me and made sure no other person came anywhere close.
It took quite a long time before the council of elders arrived that was actually expected because of the short notice.
After they had settled down in the conference room I intimated them on my findings and everyone was awestruck.
"I'm still finding it difficult to believe that Christopher did this." He stated as I concluded my statement.
"Well we would have to investigate the matter so we can't just jump to conclusions." A member of the council of elders said and I agreed with him.
"How long do we need for the investigation?" I asked them.
"Not more than 24 hours, and we are not just going to investigate by ourselves, you would have to prove that Christopher committed the alleged crime." The eldest member of the council stated as they stood to leave.
After you left I ordered the arrest and detention of Christopher for the meantime.
Louise was also arrested and they were closely watched.
"What are you going to do to them?" Emily spoke to me for the first time in a very polite tone.
"I never knew you could be this polite." I stated with a bit of sarcasm.
"Christopher will never hurt anyone. I'm surprised he took our brother's life." She said as she covered her face with her hand.
"And we must punish him." I added as I also walked out of the conference room.
Seeing that the elders needed me to prove that Christopher actually killed his brother I had to call the guy that gave me this information, he confessed to being a party although he had no direct involvement.
He only knew about the whole thing after the deed was done. The assassins that Christopher had hired collected arms from him; that was how he knew about Christopher's involvement in his brother's death.
I begged him to come testify against Christopher the next day and after so much persuasion he agreed to come at a fee.
I accepted the conditions and told Daniel to send him a part of the money.
Daniel did immediately that he confirmed it, he assured me that he would be here tomorrow.
As soon as it was dawn, my witness arrived and I was ready to prove to the council of elders all that I had asserted.
Emily begged me to forgive them, but I made it clear to her that it was far beyond me other interests were involved already, and everyone really wanted to see the perpetrators brought to book.
"What about Michael?" I asked Emily because I had not seen him around since I came in.
"Christopher sent him away." She responded without saying anything further.
Later that day I found out that Michael actually had intentions of usurping Christopher's powers and becoming alpha of the bloody moon pack.
Thus Christopher had to send him away just to protect his position as Alpha. I also gathered that Michael blamed his actions on Louise as she was the one that incited him but she blatantly denied it.
Christopher decided not to be too hard on Michael at first but later on his body was found on the street and all fingers pointed at Christopher although there was no proof that he killed Michael. Up till date, no one has been able to find Michael's killer despite the investigations.
The witness I was able to get told me everything that I needed to know about the whole issue, and I was glad he was at my service.
Later that evening the council of elders sent  words to me stating that we will gather tomorrow for the final judgment.
I informed Daniel and every other person that was interested about it and we all looked forward to the next day.
I left the house that evening to take a walk around the neighborhood. Daniel and Emily accompanied me. Emily kept telling me about everything that happened after I left, even after I made it clear to her that I was not interested in it.
I was compelled to tell her about my pregnancy and she was more than elated to hear that I carried her brother's child.
She only became disappointed when I told her that I lost the baby.
"If I had known Louise was a fraud I would have made sure you stayed." She stated and I told her there was no need crying over spilt milk.
"So what is going to happen after Christopher is killed?" She asked me and from the tone of her voice I sensed that she was also interested in the position.
"We would let the elders decide that the most important thing right now is to make sure Christopher and Louise pay for their sins." I explained to her as we started heading back home.

The day we all waited for came even if it looks like it took so long.
Every member of the blood Moon pack was present, it was as if there was a feast and I wondered who gave them the information.
My witness was called up by the elders, and after he finished testifying I needed no other proof to show that Christopher was guilty as charged.
There was a bit of remorse in his voice, although all of his pleas fell on deaf ears.
Louise was also tried and I was able to prove to the council of elders that they were both guilty.
Judgment was about to be passed on them then I remembered that he had not signed the divorce papers.
With the help of Daniel I got the divorce papers but Christopher was no longer willing to sign it.
"This was our agreement, remember?" I said to him after signing my part.
"Our agreement was that I help you take down the rebels and you give me the divorce, I am going to die anyway so there is no need for the divorce anymore." He responded.
"Why are you selfish Christopher," I yelled and he laughed.
After a whole lot of argument Christopher was forced to sign the divorce papers then after judgment was passed on himself and Louise.
I felt sorry for him but I was glad things ended the way it did.
They were both tied up together and set ablaze in the presence of the entire pack.
There was some chatter among the members of the pack and everyone condemned what they did.
I walked inside the building to relax for a while before leaving for the silver moon pack.
While I was sitting in the living room, the elders walked in.
"Thank you Alpha." One of them said as they all took seats.
"My pleasure." I said and they nodded.
"So who becomes the next alpha of the blood moon pack?" Another elder asked and Emily walked closer.
"You will decide who takes over." I stated pointing at all the elders.
They brought their heads together and whispered to each other.
After that one of them stood up to talk.
"We would prefer you appoint who takes over as alpha or you take over as alpha yourself." He said and sat down.
I smiled.
"I am the alpha of the silver moon pack and cannot administer both packs as I have a lot of work over there." I told them.
"Then give us an alpha." They chorused.
Emily excused me and I walked out with her.
"What do you think, can I handle it?" She asked in a very low tune.
"I don't think so." I responded and she frowned.
"You could teach me and I will be ready to learn from you." She pressed on me.
"I have made my choice." I told her and walked back to my seat.
"Daniel here will take over as alpha of the blood moon pack." I told the elders who were concerned about his experience and competence.
"Don't be scared, Daniel handled the silver moon pack while I was married to Christopher, so he can do this." I told them and they were a bit confident.
The council of elders led us outside where the entire members of the pack were and announced Daniel their new alpha.
I think they were happy to have him as their new alpha because of the applause he got.
After a while, the crowd started dying as it was already dark.
"Thank you Miriam." Daniel said as we walked inside the building.
"I should be the one thanking you," I said and he smiled.
"So do you like what you see here already or would you love to make some adjustments?" I asked him as I showed him around the beautiful castle of the alpha of the blood moon pack.
"If there would be any changes, I will let you know about it. For now, everything is perfect." Daniel smiled as he fed his eyes with the beauty of the house.
"I will leave tomorrow," I started.
"I would come with you." He chipped in immediately.
"Okay." I said and we spent the whole night talking and laughing.
"There is something I will tell you when we get back home." Daniel said.
"This is your new home Daniel, get used to it." I reminded him and he smiled.
I looked down and saw Emily sitting helplessly and staring at nowhere in particular.
"What do we do with her?" Daniel asked me.
"Emily and I have never been best of friends, so if I am to advise you, it's going to be nasty." I laughed as I made the statement.
"So?" He questioned.
"I'm leaving it to you," I added and finished the pancake I had in my hand.
"She would be here for now." He said and as he leaned on the wall.
Suddenly, he seemed startled and I stood up to know what was wrong.
"What are they doing here by this time?" He pointed at the council of elders who walked majestically into the mansion.
"They are here for you." I told him and he became more scared.
"You don't to be scared, they are here to confirm your appointment as alpha." I told him and he took a deep breath.
I could hear his heartbeat.
"Let's go downstairs." I ordered but he refused to come along.
"Daniel, they won't harm you." I assured him.
"I have not told Cherry about this." He said.
"You think she would not like the idea?" I asked.
"I'm not sure." He sniffed.
"She would be good, and she would always have help with the baby." I told him as I dragged him along.
"You stay back." The elders instructed me and I waited for them in the living room.
They spent a long time and I was beginning to doubt if everything was still fine.
My heart stopped pounding as I saw Daniel walk inside the living room. I hurried towards him and hugged him, while looking outside for the elders.
"They are all gone." He whispered, he must have read my mind, I thought.
"We need to get going." We pulled out of each other's arms and grabbed our stuffs.
"Why don't you stay until morning?" Emily walked up to us in the car.
"Your new alpha will be back this evening." I said and we drove off.
