Chapter 83

CHRISTOPHER'S POV
The night was a very short one but it grew so long as I anticipated my meeting with Miriam. We planned to meet again today so we can make more plans and put our strategies in place before lunching out.
As soon as I woke up, the first thing that came to my mind was to call her. So I picked up my phone and dialled her number. Both the first and second time I called she didn't pick. I guessed she hadn't woken up, so I stopped calling.
A knock came on my door, but I refused to respond to it. I will meet whoever it is when I am out. So I dropped the phone on the bed as I still had it in my hands and jumped out of the bed into the bathroom.
When I was done, I opened the door hoping to go downstairs and inform Michael that he would be going out with me even if I have not told Miriam that I will be coming with him.
As I opened the door there was Louise standing in front of the door. I managed to calmly ask her what she was doing there as she seemed to be the last person I wanted to speak with.
Instead of responding to my question, she pushed me inside the room gently and closed the door behind her.
"What do you think you are doing?" I asked her but she rather started kissing my neck without saying anything.
I tried to push her away but her grip on me was so strong that I could not pull her away easily.
"I would appreciate it if you would stop." I said to her but it was as though my words spurred her the more as she intensified the kisses.
Before I knew it I started returning it and in a few seconds I caught myself in bed with her.
It was then that I realised what was going on so I pushed her away.
"I have something to tell you before you leave." She said after I was able to get her off me.
"Go on, I am listening." I told her as soon as I got back on my feet.
"I am sure you can win this battle with or without Miriam." She started and I was curious to know where she was driving to.
"So what exactly are you saying?" I queried her and she stood up from the bed and wrapped her both hands around my neck.
In order to avoid what just happened, I pulled her hand off my neck and also pushed her a few feet away from me.
"You are behaving like it's the first time we are coming this close." She stated only in a bid to spite me but I ignored her.
"The only thing I expect of you right now is to tell me why I'm standing here." I said to her just to make sure she understands that I really do not have so much time to waste this morning.
"Okay, what I'm trying to say is that you can actually do this without Miriam." She continues and I just started smiling at her she obviously does not understand what is going on because if she does she would not be sounding this stupid.
"You of all people know that I don't have the capacity to fight the rebels so how am I going to face them without her?" I said to her and she told me she has an idea.
"I'm all ears, spill it." I responded as I folded my arms and waited for her to tell me what she had to say.
"I was thinking you could join the rebels to fight her. I heard that the rebels had an agreement with the council of elders that they will not attack us if we join them to fight against the silver moon pack." She stated and I became angry immediately.
Just so I don't do anything stupid to her I walked out of the room but she ran after me screaming that I must do what she had asked me to do.
I really did not know what her motives were but I have decided that I will not let any of them influence my decision.
I am going to work with Miriam and together we will bring down the rebels.
As I got to the living room, Michael was already seated there.
"Hey Chris." He said as soon as he saw me walk in. He tried to ask me why Louise was screaming behind me. I turned back to look at her and I saw that she stopped at the staircase.
"Just ignore her she's just being stupid." I told Michael and we both walked out of the living room.
"Are you on your way to the silver moon pack already?" Michael asked me and I told him that I have been trying to reach. I need her to know that I am on my way first before I even proceed out of the house.
"Then we should do something else while we wait for her." he suggested and I asked him what he thought we could do.
"Let's go back to the office and talk about the agreement you both had yesterday, I really need to be abreast with it. "Michael stated and I agreed with him, I need to put him through everything.
Having said that we both walked back inside the house and went straight to my office.
He opened the door for me and allowed me to walk in before coming in.
I sat down quietly for a while as everything that happened yesterday between Miriam and I started playing in my head.
At some point I was smiling and he also smiled with me even if he did not know why I was smiling.
"Miriam agreed to help me fight the rebel group in exchange for our divorce." I stated and the reaction I saw on Michael's face was very indifferent. When I began the statement he looked very excited but as I ended it he was no longer pleased with it.
"Oh you guys haven't had a proper divorce." Who said and I was surprised that he forgot that the pending divorce between Miriam and I is the reason Louise and I cannot get married.
"Yes we haven't and we will do that as soon as we are able to defeat the rebels. That's the focus for now." I responded as I picked up the files I had on the table and opened them. I looked at the documents and I didn't even have a clue of what to do with them or what they were.
So I closed the file and waited for Michael to respond.
"Do you think proceeding with a divorce with her is the best thing to do?" He asked me, probably hoping he could convince me not to continue with the divorce plans.
"I know you are obsessed with Miriam but I never knew it was to this extent." I said to him and he looked at me with surprise.
"What do you mean by I'm obsessed with Miriam. Well I know I really do like her and I wish you both were still together." He admitted to the fact that he preferred Miriam over Louise.
I also preferred Miriam and I will choose her over and over again over Louise but with the situation I have at hand I am stuck with Louise.
"Miriam is cool, no doubt but things have ended between us and I want it to remain so." I said to him and he took a deep breath.
"If that's what you want then it's fine." He responded and I nodded.
I then started telling him about all the plans that Miriam had put in place already.
I told him how she and her beta invaded the rebels camp and made a way with one of the most important documents that belong to the rebels.
"She was able to get the document in which their plan of work and the strategies they are supposed to employ was written." I stated and he was really shocked.
"How were they able to do that?" He asked me and I laughed because I really did not have an answer to that question. Only Miriam and her beta knows how they were able to invade the rebel camp and left with their most prized possession without even being noticed.
"No wonder she is always praised, no wonder she is the omega alpha." Michael began to sing of her praise and as much as I wanted to join him I could not find the words that were good enough.
While we were still seated in the office my phone rang. I was hoping it was Miriam but as I brought out the phone and looked at the screen it was Mr James.
"Why the hell is he calling me?" I yelled as I looked at the phone in my hand.
"Who is that?" Michael asked immediately with so much concern.
I turned the phone screen to him and as soon as he saw the name he asked me not to pick it.
"I was not going to take this call either." I stated and we both stayed quiet for a while until the call came again.
Then we decided that I should pick the call and hear what he had to say.
I picked the call and used the loudspeaker function on the phone so that Michael could also hear what he was saying.
"Good morning alpha." He said with so much sarcasm in his voice.
"I guess you called to mock me." I responded and he busted out with laughter from the other end.
"No my boy," he stated and continued laughing.
"Who the hell does this man think he is?" Michael said and I told him to calm down with gestures.
"If you don't have anything important to say, I have important things to do." I said and as I was about to hang up the phone he started talking.
"I just wanted to know if you have spoken with your council of elders and have considered my proposal." He said with pride probably hoping to hear that I will join forces with him against a woman I once claimed to love.
"Sorry to disappoint you Mr James, but I am not interested in whatever it is you have to offer." With that I hung up the phone even though I noticed that he still wanted to say something.
"I'm glad you are not swayed by him, he's nothing but a fool." Michael started cursing him and I just started laughing.
"Breakfast is served." Emily walked to us in the office and announced.
Michael and I stood up immediately and headed to the dining room.
Before Louise joined us we had already started eating. I got off from the table as soon as Louise sat down. Michael did the same and we both walked to the living room and continued our chats there.
A few minutes later a call came in through a number not registered on my phone.
I picked it up immediately and it was Miriam's beta.
"Miriam said I should inform you that the meeting would be later this evening." He said and I thanked him before hanging up.
"Who was that?" Michael asked me instantly as I dropped the call and I told him it was Miriam's beta.
I told him that we would be on our way soon so that we can get to the silver moon pack before the meeting.
"Just inform me as soon as you are ready to leave." Michael said as he stood up and walked towards the door.
"Where are you off to?" I asked him and he told me that he just wanted to take a walk around the building.
"Alright let me come with you." I responded and got up on my feet immediately.
We both went outside, although we did not take the same direction when we came out of the house.
While he went towards the pool I headed to the garden.
While standing there staring at the beautiful flowers and fruits that were growing, I remember that I needed to tell Miriam that I would be coming with Michael.
So I took my phone and dialled her number. This time she picked and I informed her that I will be coming over with Michael.
"The last time I saw Michael he told me he was no longer your beta." Miriam responded and I remembered that Michael told me he had met her in the silver moon pack.
"Yeah that's true but we actually settled the issue we had so we are back together again." I informed her.
"That's okay you guys should be on your way now. We have a whole lot to do." Miriam stated and hung up the call while I went to the pool to inform Michael that we are set to go.
"It's time she said we can start coming already." I told Michael as soon as I walked up to him.
He actually did not hear me the first time as he had his headphones on, so I had to tap him to get his attention.
"Are we ready?" He said as soon as he turned to face me.
"Yes we are good to go." I replied.
"Alright then let me go grab my jacket." He stated and rushed off immediately.
"Get my car keys too." I shouted so he could hear me.
Moments later he was out and he met me standing beside the car and he handed the keys over to me.
"You drive." I told him as I refused to take the keys from his hand.
He opened the car for me and after I got in he turned to the driver's side and hopped into the car.
It's been a while I drove with him and I was pleased I was doing this again.
"Thank you for trusting me again." He said as soon as he got into the car.
I smiled and gave him a nod as we began our journey.
The drive to the silver moon pack has always been a very long one. But it wasn't that long today as it wasn't my first time and I also had company.
Michael and I kept discussing and sharing ideas until we reached Miriam's gate.
Michael honked and the gate man hurried outside to meet us.
I told him I was the one that was here yesterday and this time around he opened the gate for us to drive in.
"This is magnificent!" Daniel exclaimed as he saw the building. I was also amazed the first time I saw it.
I stepped down from the car before he did and led the way to the entrance.
One of the servants was already there to receive us. We were entertained with all kinds of food and drinks as soon as we got into the house.
"You both will have to wait for a few minutes, the alpha is busy inside and will be out soon." Daniel, Miriam's beta announced his presence as he walked in to meet us in the living room.
"That's not a problem we have all day." I responded as I stretched out my hand for a handshake and he took my hand.
He also moved over to Michael and shook hands with him.
