Chapter 61

MIRIAM'S POV
I walked into Daniel's room and Still found him lying in bed sleeping. I looked at my watch and saw that time was already far spent and we really needed to get out of the house immediately.
He was sleeping so peacefully and I was feeling bad that I was going to disturb his rest but I didn't have any choice.
I tapped him gently as I sat in the bed beside him but he just shifted from that position and took another.
My heart went out all for him at this point. We had a hectic and cumbersome day yesterday so he would not be wrong if he decides to get some rest. But here is another day we would have to try again before us and what we have to do at hand is very serious.
"Danie, Daniel." I called his name while still tapping him after I was convinced that he was not going to get up anytime soon if I didn't apply some more force.
He shook his leg and still changed his position. This made me start laughing as his reaction was becoming so funny.
"What am I going to do to get this boy out of this bed?" I asked myself and also gave myself an answer. Which is to try harder to wake him up.
He finally sat up on the bed and was staring into space without blinking his eyes.
I had to wave my hand in his face but he still didn't blink. This means only one thing,Daniel was still asleep.
I had to push him back to bed and make sure he laid properly so he could continue his sleep.
The thought of going for the meeting alone crossed my mind and that was what I am going to do at the moment.
I promptly stood up from the bed and walked out of the room.
On my way down, I met Trish who was also hurrying downstairs.
"Hi Trish, where are you rushing off to?" I asked her and she stopped as soon as she heard my voice.
"I was rushing downstairs, I thought I was already late and you both must have left." She responded as she tried to steady her breath as she walked towards me.
"I was thinking of going for the meeting alone. Daniel is still sleeping and the meeting must have commenced.
"What is the time now?" She asked me as she started searching through her bag although I could not tell what exactly it was that she was looking for.
"It's a few minutes past 2am." I said that to her as I am not so sure of the exact time.
"And the meeting was scheduled for 1am. We are over one hour late already." Trish said as she brought out a stick from her bag and started muttering some words that I couldn't even hear her.
"What are you saying?" I asked her but she did even look at my face.
When she was done, she slid the stick into her bag again and smiled at me.
I was beginning to get scared of this girl standing right in front of me. What the hell is she doing? I was also informed that she is the one who introduced the reflection routine that has been going on for a while now.
"What is that all about?" I asked her when I could no longer keep shut about it. We were already close to the living room. She stopped, turned back and stared at me for a while before proceeding to enter the living room.
"It's nothing, just some magic I inherited from my grandmother. " She replied as she sat on the couch.
As soon as I heard magic, I became interested and longed to know more about it but she was not willing to say anything to me at the moment.
"I will go to the meeting alone. You tell Daniel to come after me if he wakes up before the end of the meeting." I said to her, breaking the silence that crept in a while ago and walked towards the door as I was still standing.
"You can't go to that meeting alone. It is not advisable." She told me with a stern voice and I was beginning to get scared.
"You are the target. The most powerful alpha is about to be ridiculed." She continued as she walked towards me, staring straight into my eyes with both eyes that had turned black.
As she came closer, I gave a loud scream hoping she would stop or go back but she kept coming at me.
Apart from Daniel who was in deep sleep, no one else was in the house. The servants had retired to their quarters and I am sure that they are all asleep.
I stood still holding on to the door hoping it would just open up for me to run outside but it was properly locked and I didn't have the luxury of time to start opening it gradually.
"Please don't hurt me, please." I closed my eyes while begging Trish not to do anything stupid to me.
When she got pretty close to me, she stopped moving forward and was just staring at me. I froze in fear as I felt a ball of sweat move from my neck down to much cleavage.
"I am not going to hurt you alpha. I was just looking at something." She spoke up after staying silent for over twenty minutes.
I became a bit confident and I had to ask her what it was that she was looking at.
"The plot is to kill and take up your throne." Was all she said and my mind turned to the rebels immediately.
I really didn't know why so much attention was put on me. I know I am powerful and strong but I wasn't sure of the fact that I was rated this high.
"If only they knew the struggles I keep up with everyday, they would know better than to chase me the way they are doing." I said to myself.
"No one goes through all you have been through and comes out this strong." My wolf said and I wondered where she was when Trish was scaring me.
"Thanks." I said to Trish and made my way upstairs.
"What are you going to do?" She asked me.
"I know what to do." I responded without turning back to look at her.
I walked into my room and laid on the bed. Just at that moment, I was up and there was Cherry lying next to me.
I stood up and looked at myself and saw that I was even wearing a different dress. I had to wake Cherry up and ask her why she was here.
"I came to check up on you when I came back from the hospital. I didn't know I had slept here." She responded and it became clear that it was a dream but a very serious one.
