Chapter 104
"I wasn't avioiding you" Allen lied. There was no way that she would admit to it. Right now, the guy was looking at her as if he had just seen a prey. Anything that she said right now will become something that he will use against her right? Allen felt strongly that she could never attempt going against this person in her life.
"Oh really?" Raymond asked. He stepped closer to her. Allen was starting to get scared. What is he doing right now? She moved back and he just moved closer to her.
"What...what are you doing right now? Don't do this...stay away from me..." Allen said. What has gotten into this man. He seemed like he is in a really bad mood. He isn't going to take out his anger on her right?
Looking at how she was so scared to be in front of him right now, he could not stop thinking about that scene when she was smiling in front of that man. How does her attitude change when she is in front of him? Is he really that scary?
"Where have you been? Why did you come home so late?" Raymond asked her. Inspite of what she said, he still did not move away from her. He was looking at her face now.
Allen was really uncomfortable. She could not understand how this man could affect her like this. She could not even figure out if she liked him being this close to her or not. She was nervous.. but having this man be so close to her.... smelling his natural manly scent... looking at this devilishly handsome face, she really did not know what she was supposed to think. What is she supposed to do about this situation?
"Didn't... didn't we already agree that we won't have anything to do with each other's lives? We are not really a couple anyway...it's all going to end soon anyway" Allen said. She did not know when she got the confidence to talk to Raymond like this. She just felt that she should let him know.
Raymond glared at her. Not get involved in each other's lives? But she and Paul can be involved with each other's lives? Seriously...why does he keep feeling that he is inferior to that guy when he is with this woman? And why is he even making this comparison in his mind? What the hell is going on with him? How did he change so much?
"I remember staying that to Joanna. I did not say that to you. I said those words to you when I thought that you are Joanna...but you are not her..." Raymond said.
Allen was shocked. What does he mean? Since she isn't Joanna... shouldn't he be more strict with not getting involved with her life?
"But that is the reason why we should not get involved with each other even more. I'm not even the person that you are supposed to be married to in the first place..." Allen said. Her voice was so timid, like she was about to start crying any second now.
"What do you mean by that? Do you mean that I should not care about anything and that I should just let you go after you fooled me? I can't do that now can I? I still need to make you pay" Raymond said.
Allen thought 'ah, so that is why. It seems that I'm the only one who was thinking too much in the first place'.
Actually, Raymond wasn't even thinking anything like that. He just felt that he needed an excuse. He definitely could not let this woman know that he wanted to know why she was with Paul today. Wasn't that little assistant of hers, Lena supposed to bring her back? How did she end up coming back with Paul?
He did not have a good impression of that man. He has been used by Joanna for so long and he did not even realize it. And what's more? Allen is so close to him, she is so comfortable with him, while she was always acting scared in front of him! How can he accept something like that? That was the most annoying part.
"You can be assured that I'm not going to try to run off. I'll only be putting myself in trouble if I did. Besides, it's still up to you. What do you want to do to me? You already know everything right?" Allen asked him.
The words that Allen wanted to say were "Anyway this is your fault! You should just tell me what you want to do. Why do you need to keep me in suspense like this? What do you want to do to me? You should tell me what you want from me!" But she could never say those words to him. She could only find a way to go around the words that she wanted to say.
Raymond took another step towards her and she stepped back too. He was really annoyed. Why does she keep avioiding him? Why is she so scared of him?
"You want to know what I will do to you right? I've thought of it. I'm going to keep an eye on you. You are going to help me find Joanna. What if you try to run?" Raymond said.
He had not thought about anything. He just felt that he needed to come up with an excuse to keep an eye on this woman. He had to find out why she was with that dock today.
"Don't worry. I'm not going to run" Allen said this through clenched teeth.
Raymond realized just then that it seemed that this woman had a great deal of pride. She got so angry when he said that she was going to run. Whatever. As long as he got what he wanted to know from her.
"How am I supposed to believe your words? You were supposed to be home since a long time ago? Where were you? I won't let you go if you don't tell me. Don't think about escaping" he threatened her.
Allen wasn't clear about what exactly this man was doing. What was where she had been to today got to do with what he was talking about?
