Chapter 71

Raymond looked at John. Ryder had already told him that Ryan came looking for his grandfather but he did not think that he would have such an effect on him. He sighed. Well, it wasn't completely his fault. He was getting old and after all the stupid crazy things that Ryan did back then just because he did not like him, it was only normal that he would be worried when that person shows up again. Raymond sighed. Now he knew that he had to do something about Ryan and he had to do it quick. He can't let him cause the same trouble that he did give years ago.
"Grandfather, I already know that Ryan is back. And I know why you are worried because of him! But we can't let him get to us. Moreover we can't let your health be affected because of him. You don't have to worry. I'm going to take care of him and I'm going to make sure that he won't be causing my more problems for us. You don't have to worry about that" Raymond said. He definitely wasn't the person that he was five years ago. He was twenty and immature. But now, he is much more ruthless than before. Even though Ryan was his family because of some annoying ties, he won't let him mess around with all of them again.
John looked at his grandson. He had to admit that he had changed a lot in the last five years. He won't be tricked as easily as he was five years ago. He had already made a name for himself in the last five years in the business world and people knew better than to mess around with him. But Ryan has been away for five years. Who knows what that person has been up to in the five years that he had been away? He really didn't want to be so affected by him but he also knew that Ryan did not do things the way normal people would. He is completely crazy and seeing how he came back without a warning, who knows what plans he has?
"I really just can't stay here. Even though I know what you are capable of I really won't be able to stay here doing nothing and just watching Ryan. Last time, he was able to get to you because I let him do it. I thought that he is family and that we should not be so mean to family and end up pushing him away. I tried to treat him as family and he took that against me to wreck all kinds of havoc. Now I won't let any of that happen. If I want to be able to deal with that person, I need to be out of this place" John said. It wasn't as if he was sick anyway. There is no need for him to keep up the ruse since Raymond already got married.

He had already decided that it would be best if he kept someone as dangerous as Ryan close to himself. Then he would be able to monitor all of the things that he does.

He isn't going to do something to her right? "Raymond...when Ryan came here, he had talked about Joanna. Do you think that he's going to do something to her?" John said. He can't let that woman get hurt because of thier own family problems.
Raymond cletched his fists tightly together. Somehow, thinking about that physopath Ryan messing around with his wife made him angry. Raymond stopped. He just thought of her as his wife right? Not just Joanna Anderson? What is going on with him? Since when did he start to consider that woman as his wife in his head? Raymond shook his head. This can't be. It's only because he has promised to be married to her for six months. Even if the both of them are not pretending to be a couple he should be able to protect her so that she doesn't get hurt because of his own family problems. Her getting involved with Ryan wasn't part of the deal to begin with. He consoled himself with these thoughts.
