"I really don't know Lena. I don't know how that man managed to find out. I tried...I tried to convince him that I'm Joanna but he did not fall for it. I already talked to him, he said that he was going to think about what he would do to me. What do you think that he will do to me Lena?" Allen asked her.
Lena looked at Allen. She had wanted to yell at her for being so stupid and letting Raymond find out about it but when he saw the look that was on her face, she too did not know what to do. She felt like it wasn't completely Allen's fault she did not plan for this to happen after all.
Lena was really worried about Joanna's career. What would that man do to her?
"Don't worry about it for now Allen. I'm going to talk with Paul. I'll have a talk with him and figure out what we are going to do next. It would be great if Mr Walker doesn't do anything about it but we can't be sure." Lena said. Even though she said that Allen should not worry, she was already a nervous wreck.
Allen thought of something. She really wanted to talk to Lena about it. It was strange that everyone kept saying that Joanna did not run away. It she did not disappear on purpose, then where is she right now? Could she be in some kind of danger?.
"Lena, do you really think that Joanna ran away?" Allen asked her. The look on her face was solemn now.
Lena looked at Allen. She was suspicious. Why is she asking about this all of a sudden? Even though Lena felt suspicious, she still found herself answering the question quite truthfully.
"Actually, I don't believe completely that Joanna ran away. She was so happy that she was getting married to Mr Walker. She bragged about it so much. I remember once, on set, she talked about it so much to Sonia. She rubbed it in her face so much. Why would she suddenly choose to run away? I don't understand it" Lena said.
Allen was thinking. It really did not make sense. She would not just run away when she was so happy about getting married. But Paul said that she was forced into it. What part of the story is true and what part of it isn't true? She really wanted to know what the truth was. There was two options right now. Joanna was either pretending to be happy about getting married and then she really did run away or she lied about being forced into it to Paul and she might be in some real danger now. Which one was it?
Allen felt like she should tell Lena the truth about Joanna's marriage to Raymond. Since it had already come to this, there was no need to hide anything.
"Actually Lena, I've known this since a long time ago but I didn't know how I was supposed to talk to you about it. Joanna and Raymond....the both of them...they were not supposed to be a real couple. I found out the very first day I moved here. The both of them had a contract. They would be married for six months and then they would go thier seperate ways. I don't know the entire reason but I think that it has something to do with Raymond's grandfather. The first day I moved here, he told me...no he told Joanna not to have any expectations of him because she wasn't that person. I think there's someone else that he loves" Allen said. She immediately told Lena everything that she knew.
"What?! The both of them were not really a couple?" Lena asked. She was in shock. This was very different from what Joanna had told her. Thinking about it now, it was weird. If Joanna really had a boyfriend like Raymond Walker, with her personality, she definitely won't try to hide it and then make it public when she wants to get married. It seems like something that was arranged in haste. Like an arranged marriage. Even though she had lied about thier relationship, Lena was sure that Joanna was not faking being happy to be married to him. She had not seen Joanna that happy before.
"I don't understand what is going on. But one thing is clear for sure. Joanna was really excited to be married to Mr Walker. She told me that the both of them have been dating for some time but maybe she was just lying to protect her image in front of others. But...she really was happy about the marriage. Why would she run away?" Lena asked.
Allen was quiet. Raymond had said the same thing too. She was happy to be married to him. Even though it was all a ruse that would end in six months, she was still quite happy about it so why would she want to run away? Allen felt that last night, whenever he spoke of Joanna, there was a hint of disgust in his words. Like he really hated her. What really is going on?
"Raymond had said the same thing too. He said that she was so happy to be married to him. He said that she would never run away. What happened?" Allen asked Lena.
Lena was starting to get an headache. "I'll talk to Paul. We have to figure this out. I think that we should take this seriously now. If Joanna didn't run away then what has happened to her? Could she be in some kind of trouble?!" Lena asked..
The both of them were silent for a few seconds. Then Lena looked up at Allen's face. "I think that you should stay at home today. I'll tell the director that you are sick and you can't come" Lena said. With her face like that, her eyes thick with dark circles, she definitely won't let people see "Joanna" like that.
