Chapter Eight

You..!" Joanna yelled and pointed at him. She had never been so insulted in her life! She was really angry. When he told his grandfather that he had something that he wanted to talk to her about she was really very happy because she thought that he had taken a liking to her. But he just called her to ask her about some stupid irrelevant topic and to insult her! If it was any other person, Joanna would have walked away! She is the actress Joanna Anderson! The woman who has the nickname of the nation's goddess! She definitely won't allow herself to be insulted like this!
But it wasn't Just anyone they were talking about here. It was Raymond Walker. The powerful and cold CEO of Helian Group. She could not afford to be rude to him. And besides, she did not want to give up this marriage! She already has her eyes set on Raymond! She was sure that there isn't a man that she won't be able to get. As long as she wants him, she will be able to get him! She just has to be persistent. Raymond Walker, it will definitely be hers!
She had to be sensible and not lose her temper like this. If he thinks that he is going to get rid of her by being rude to her and saying some harsh words then he is in for a surprise. If anything, the words that he said to her made her even more determined to get Raymond to fall in love with her! The both of them just have to get married first. Then she is going to work on making Raymond Walker fall for her!
There was a sinister smile on her face when she thought about that. Quickly, she stopped smiling. Her expression was quickly replaced by a cold and detached look. She must not let him know what she is thinking. "You, you already know what is going on here right? Your grandfather and my uncle wants the both of us to get married. I really don't want to go through with this but there is really nothing that the both of us can do. We will have to get married. Since I'm going to be your wife very soon, don't you think that your attitude is a little too much?" Joanna asked. She was making it sound like she was not interested at all.
Raymond turned to look at her. Seeing more and more of this woman he was getting irritated. Just what did his grandfather see in this woman for him to be so sure that she is the woman he is going to marry? Just how was she able to decieve his grandfather to think that she is a good woman? He had only spent a few minutes with her and he could already tell that she is a scheming woman. Pretending to be forced into a marriage, while she definitely wants to get married to him, what will she get from that?
There was a teasing smile on her face. Since she wants to play around, he is going to play around with her. "Really? You are being forced into this? If you don't want to get married then there is no reason for you to get married then. Don't force yourself into it" Raymond said. He still had that playful smile on his face but the sarcasm was still very clear in his voice. Does this woman think that she will be able to play him with her scheming?
Joanna could feel her face getting red. She was really angry now! Is this person doing this on purpose? Just what is he trying to do? She struggled hard to keep the same blank expression on her face. She had always been really good at acting. Even when she was not filming she was always putting on an act in front of others so she was really good at hiding her emotions. But right now, standing in front of this man, she felt like she could not hide anything from him.
But Joanna did not think about giving up. She is going to make this man hers. She is going to make sure that this man falls in love with her. "You should know better than anyone else that there is nothing that you can do about this. The both of us are going to get married, it's what both of our families want. Let's not keep beating around the bush" Joanna said. She still had her blank expression on, But Raymond was far from being fooled by her.
Raymond was starting to get sick and tired of the woman in front of him. She really must think that she is something. Since she is able to fool everyone perfectly, she must think that it is easy to fool him. There is nothing that the both of them can do except get married to each other so they should just accept the fact and get married? If she wants to get married to him so badly then she should do it right way. Why does she need to keep beating around the bush?
No matter what, he already knew that he won't have anything to do with a woman like this. Such a scheming woman, is definitely the type of woman that he hates the most. "What? You really are something Miss Joanna. Since there is nothing that we can do we should just get married? Do you really think that something like this is going to fool me? I hate women like you the most. I will never have anything to do with a woman like you!" Raymond said.
He was already sick and tired of her. Dealing with such a scheming woman, he suddenly felt drained. And to think that he was almost sure that she is that person...! This is all his grandfather's fault. He did not want to go back to see him . His grandfather was only going to ask him about what the both of them had talked about and he did not want that. Instead of taking the elevator to his grandfather's ward, he took the elevator to the first floor instead.
Joanna watched as the man walked away. She could not say anything to him. He already saw through her tricks! This person, just who is he? Looks like getting him to fall in love with her won't be as easy as she had thought. But if anything, the experience with him made her even more determined. She is going to make sure to get married to him, and she is going to make him fall in love with her. First, the both of them have to get married. To do that, she would need to work on his grandfather. He seemed like he really liked her a lot just now. There was a sinister smile on her face.
Joanna took the elevator back to the ward where her uncle and John were. When she got there, she saw her uncle desperately trying to suck up to the man. Despite his efforts, he was just getting rejected. Joanna smirked. This is just a tip of the iceberg for him. She is going to make sure that this man suffers much more humiliation in the future. She looked around and saw that Raymond did not come back to the ward.
Joanna was grateful for that. At least she did not have to face him right after he insulted her. She turned to his grandfather and smiled instead. "How are you feeling now? I was really worried when I heard that you were sick, you should really take care of yourself, I don't want anything to happen to you" Joanna said. There was so much concern in her voice for him. It was enough to win over just about anyone.
John looked up and saw that Joanna was back. She was smiling at him so sweetly. He was already sure about it, this woman is the perfect woman for his butt headed stubborn grandson. He looked and saw that Raymond did not come back with her. John sighed. He could already guess what had happened. That grandson of his probably insulted the woman and left. He felt really sorry for Joanna. After probably getting insulted by his grandson, she can still care so much about him.
He smiled back at Joanna. No matter what, he is going to make sure there Raymond marries her. Since talking with her probably did not work then he would have to go with his plan B. Everything about this woman was perfect, except for her uncle of course. The man really was annoying! "Joanna, did you come back alone? Where is Raymond? Did he make things difficult for you? What did he say to you?" John asked.
Joanna kept her sweet smile on her face. Of course he made things difficult for her. He made things extremely difficult for her. She did not want to show it but she was really embarrassed when he told her that he already knew what she was thinking. How did he even figure out what she was thinking? How can someone be like that? But she was not going to tell his grandfather that. Even though she had lots of things going through her head at the moment, she still had a sweet smile on her face.
"No. Raymond did not make things difficult for me at all. He just asked me something and I answered him. I think that with some work and effort, the both of us will be able to get along really well. He left because he said that he had something urgent to take care of at work" Joanna said. She was thinking that if she made a good impression on his grandfather, Raymond won't be able to say no to the marriage. From what she had already seen, he must really care about his grandfather a lot.
John was even more satisfied with Joanna. He knew that she was lying. Seeing that Raymond did not come back, he probably said something to her. But she did not try to complain to him or act pitiful like those other women would. She is still covering up for him! How can he let his grandson lose such a perfect woman? "Alright. Thank you so much for caring about me. That grandson of mine does not even care. But you go to such lenghts to care about me" John said.
Joanna smiled. Her plan was working perfectly. She had the old man exactly where she wanted him. Everything is going to be perfect soon. Once she becomes Mrs Walker, getting her husband to fall in love with her will be a piece of cake. "It's no big deal seriously. I have to get back to filming, so I will leave now" Joanna said. She knew that one of the reasons the old man was so satisfied with her was because she is independent. So she was making it sound like she took her work seriously.
Allen rushed into the hospital. She had just received a call from her friend Rita that her grandmother's condition had gotten worse. She was practically panicking right now. She had to beg and beg her boss at the bar before he let her go see her grandmother. Her shift was not over yet and he had arranged that she had to come back later that night to work for the remaining hours. Allen was not bothered about that. She just wanted to see how her grandmother was doing.
She was rushing to go to her ward when she bumped into someone. The both of them fell to the ground. Allen did not have the time to take a proper look at the person that she has walked into but from his silhouette she could see that it was a man. "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry" Allen said. Why does she keep making so many mistakes today? First it was at the bar and now she walked into someone. Her mind was a complete mess since she found out about her grandmother. She wanted to say something more to him but someone called her name and waved to her. It was Rita. Allen instantly went to her.
