Chapter 67

Ryder sighed. He too really wanted to know what he was up to. He thought that they were rid of Ryan for sure five years ago when he decided to leave on his own but who could have known that he was going to come back? Even though Ryan hasn't done anything yet, he was still uneasy. That was because he knew the type of person that Ryan was. He only knew how to cause trouble.
"I really don't know. I really don't know what that person is planning. He came back suddenly like this it really can't mean anything good right? Anyway I just wanted to tell you that you should be careful from now on. I don't want you to get in trouble because of that person. I think that since he already saw your grandfather then he will come to see you next" Ryder said. He was really worried about his friend. Will he be able to handle that person on his own?
Raymond scoffed. Like he is going to be scared of that person. He already caused enough trouble for him in the past, he definitely won't let him do something like that again. He won't let him cause trouble again. "Don't worry. I'm not going to let him do anything this time" Raymond meant that, he is going to make sure that he puts that Ryan in his place this time around.

Allen had just finished filming a scene and she was talking to the director of the drama. The director was pleasantly surprised. The scene that they had just completed was a really difficult scene. In fact, they had been putting it off because of how difficult it was. He was expecting that Joanna would ask him for a stunt double to do the scene for her but she actually agreed to do it herself. And they were able to do it in just one take! Even with a stunt double, such a scene could have been extremely difficult and it would have taken several takes, he was really surprised that Joanna was able to do it in one.
In fact, he was really surprised about her progress and enthusiasm in the drama so far. Ever since Sonia joined the crew, Joanna had made it clear that she was unhappy with it. She would only do her roles half heartedly. But there was nothing that the director could do about it. They had only gotten her here because they offered a lot of money. If he upset her, he would not be a running a loss so he had to put up with it. When she did not come in for two days, he thought that she was actually going to just quit.
But she surprised him and actually came to the set the next day! He was really happy to see her and he did not even hide it that day. Ever since that day, a lot of things had changed. She did not pick on the crew like she usually did and she did not complain about the props and costumes. She was actually very Co operative with them. But the most important part was the fact that her acting had actually gotten better. Joanna had always been good but ever since she came back, she actually got better. It was as if she was putting her mind into it now.
The director did not know what changed her mind all of a sudden but he was actually very happy about it. Whatever changed her mind it meant that he could actually wrap up this drama soon. He was full of praises for Joanna. "wow Joanna, I did not really think that you would be willing to do the scene! But you actually did it and you completed it in one take! This is good! This is really good! If you keep up the good work like this we will be able to wrap up the drama soon enough" The director said. He was really very happy.
Allen chuckled to herself. She was trying not to show it but she was actually very happy herself. Becoming an actress had always been her number one dream. But she had to give it up then. She really did not think that she would get a chance to live out her dream in her life, so she was really happy to do it. Even if she was doing it with someone else's identity and it was all going to end in six months, she was still very happy to do it and so she put everything that she had into it.
Standing next to the director like this and hearing him praise her so much, Allen was really very happy. "You don't need to praise me so much director, I was just doing my job. You don't need to worry about me. As long as we can finish in the shortest time possible, it's good for everyone. Not only me, but everyone else is doing a really good job" Allen said. She knew that it wasn't easy to make a drama. People usually focus on the actors and actresses and they forget about everyone else, but she knew that everyone on set had to work really hard.
Lena came over to Allen and handed her a bottle of water immediately. She had heard the director praise Allen and she had to admit that she was really very happy. The truth was that, in the beginning, she did not think that Allen would he able to pull off being an actress. She looked so ordinary, she did not look like she had in it her to be an actress. She just thought that Allen was going to end up blowing up and messing up the scenes and lines. It came as a happy surprise for her though to learn that Allen could act.
She was really very good. Lena still had some sort of loyalty to Joanna even though she was always treating her really badly so she did not want to compare Allen with her. But if she really had to compare the acting of the two women, then Allen was definitely better than Joanna. Joanna has been doing it for five years but according to what Allen told her, she did not have any experience in acting at all. It was a real talent and she was definitely better than Allen. "We have to go remove your make up Joanna. Let's go" Lena said, leading her away.
As they went back to the dressing room, they passed by Sonia and Jenna. Allen quickly looked away from the both of them she did not want to talk to Sonia. She did not even have the guts in her to look Sonia in the eye. After what had happened and the few encounters that she had had with her, Allen had already decided that she is going to stay away from this woman. Paul had told her that the both of them just did not like each other but she knew that it wasn't that simple. Something had definitely happened between them. Allen did not want to know. She just wanted to stay away.
Sonia watched as she walked away. She could not help but feel that there was something odd with Joanna. She had changed a lot, a whole lot. She looked like she was actually scared of her these days. Joanna Anderson, scared of her. Tht thought of that was enough to make her laugh but that was what it seemed like right now. She was scared of her.s she was always trying to avoid her. Even right now, she was avoiding eye contact with her. She just did not feel like Joanna at all.
For one thing, why would Joanna be scared of her? She already knew that Joanna wasn't someone who would get scared so easily. After doing so many terrible things five years ago she finally knew how to feel fear now? It just did not make sense. It did not make sense at all. And what's more, she was even more low key these days. The Joanna she knows would never be low key. She was always craving attention. When it was first announced that she was going to g to married to Raymond Walker, she did not let her hear the end of it. She kept trying to rub it in her face.
But now that she was actually married to him, she was suddenly being low key? Who does that? Definitely not the Joanna Anderson that she knows. And today, the director had praised her so much. Everyone of them had heard the director praising her. Joanna would have definitely tried to ridicule her with it, but she did not do that. She was actually avoiding her! What the hell happened to Joanna? Sonia turned to Jenna. "I think that there's something going on with Joanna. She doesn't seem like Joanna at all. What do you think?" Sonia asked her.
Jenna nodded her head. She was feeling the same way too. She just did not know how she was going to bring up such a topic. Joanna....she just did not seem like Joanna at all. She was actually very different these days. The director praised her so much and she did not try to rub it in Sonia's face? She did not try to make her feel bad about it? She had also witnessed something that completely shocked her today. This morning, when Joanna was preparing for a scene, one of the crew members had accidentally spilled coffee on her dress. Jenna had seen it then.
She was thinking that Joanna was going to lash out at the young girl or even get her fired. After all, the innocent image that Joanna had was all a lie anyway. But to Jenna's greatest surprise, she did not do that. She did yell at the girl, even when the girl tried to apologise to her, she kept comforting her, telling her that it wasn't a big deal! Jenna thought that that was the cringiest thing that she had seen in her entire life! Do people change like that? "I think so too Sonia. Joanna...she changed a lot. She doesn't feel like Joanna anymore. She is more nice to people, and she is even trying to avoid you like she is scared of you. What the hell happened to her?"
Sonia sighed. She did not dare to think too much because she wasn't sure about what was really going on but now that she had gotten the confirmation from Jenna, she was suddenly riled up. She was sure that there was something going on with Joanna, and she was going to find out just what it is. Maybe this is her chance to get rid of that evil woman once she for all. But she knew that she could not just walk up to Joanna and ask her what is going on with her. She had another target in her mind. And that was Lena. Her assistant. She doesn't seem like such a smart person, she would definitely tell her.
"I'll be back" Jenna. Sonia said walking away.

Allen and Lena were in her dressing room. Tht make up artist already removed the make up and she was gone now. Only the both of them were inside. Lena could not stop looking at Allen . She had to admit that she was different from the Joanna that she had come to know and work for. At least Allen knew how to treat people right. Joanna, she only knew how to use people. And she was even so good at acting! "Tell me something Allen, how are you so good at acting? Is it something that you studied?" Lena asked. She already said that she did not have any experiences bur she still wanted to know if she studied it.
Allen shook her head. "No Lena. I did not study it. It has always been my dream to be an actress. But something happened and I could not go to acting school as I've always wanted. I guess since it's something I've always wanted to do, I'm really passionate about it" Allen said with a smile.
Lena smiled back at her. "You know Allen, I wasn't really convinced at first that you will be able to play Joanna but I see now that Paul was right. You really are very good at this" Lena could not help but praise her too.
Outside the door, Sonia covered her mouth in shock. Allen? Joanna? Just what is going on?
