Chapter 49

Just as she said, Lena drove Allen to Raymond's house. But she left as soon as she dropped her off. Allen entered the house. It wasn't locked at all. Maybe he left it open for her? Anyway thieves won't be able to get in here anyway. The place is a highly guarded Villa with heavily guarded estates in it. This kind of property, it must be worth millions.
Allen entered the house and sat on the sofa. There was no one else in the house. Allen decided to wait for him, soon, she fell asleep on the sofa.
When Raymond got home, it was already late. Very late. Immediately he entered the house, he saw the woman sleeping on the couch sleeping. Subconsciously, Raymond moved closer to her.
Now that he was looking at her, she looked more and more like that girl. Seeing her sleeping face like this, if she had not told him those things herself, he would have been convinced that she was her.
He reached out his hand and touched her face. But her eyes snapped open at once. "What are you doing?" She asked.
Allen had always been a light sleeper. She had decided that she was going to wait for Raymond to come back. She had some things that she wanted to talk to him about. She ended up waiting and waiting but he did not look like he was going to come back anything soon. She decided to just close her eyes a little bit since she was already tired with all the running around that she had done today. In the end, she ended up falling asleep on the couch. Her luggage was placed near her as she slept.
Raymond walked into the house completely exhausted. He had gone to see his grandfather and he was really happy that his condition had gotten a lot better. But he said that he wanted to see he and Joanna tommorow. Since the both of them were already married, he wanted them to hold a wedding ceremony. Raymond did not want to do that. They are going to break up in six months anyway and he did not see any reason for him to go that far with her.
But his grandfather did not know that. In fact he was very enthusiastic about this whole news of him getting married. Raymond was so pissed. Why did this woman have to come into his life? He was doing perfectly well on his own, why does his grandfather have to force him like this? To make matters even worse, the private investigator he had hired to find April had still not gotten any useful leads at all. Raymond did not think that he had been any more irritated that he was right now. He had married a woman that he did not even like because of his grandfather.
And now he has to take her to see his grandfather tommorow. The both of them will have to pretend to be a real couple so his grandfather does not get suspicious. Thinking about these things was definitely giving him an headache. But it wasn't as if there was anything that he could do anyway. He had to put up with it and play along with it! When he entered the house, he saw Joanna sleeping on the couch. He remembered that he had told her to come here if she was done. Thinking about it now, he was regretting giving in to her demands for her to live here.
He really hated other people invading his space. But since he already agreed to it, he had to put up with it. It would just be for six months anyway. He went closer to her. Looking at Joanna sleeping like this,she looked more and more like that girl. If she had not confirmed it herself that she really is not her, Raymond would have been convinced right now that she really is her. But she isn't her. No matter how similar she is to her, she isn't her. And the only reason she looks this similar right now is because she is sleeping right?
When she wakes up, she is a completely different person! He looked at the face of the woman on the couch, then he thought about how she had been acting since the day he met her, how she had been scheming and pretending to be such a wonderful person, there is no way that she can be the person that he is looking for! Raymond found himself going over to her subconsciously. Reaching out, he touched the side of her face. The only thing that he could see right now was that girl smiling at him. "Why do you remind me so much of her?" He whispered.
Allen had always been a light sleeper. Because she always her to wake up early each day to start her very busy life, she had formed a habit. As soon as she noticed something getting close to her, her eyes would snap open. Right now, even though she was very tired, she could feel that someone was getting closer and closer to her. She tried to ignore it but whatever it was reached out and touched her face. Allen's eyed snapped open at once. Her eyes met the handsome face of her "husband" staring at her. What is he doing right now?
Immediately Raymond saw that she was awake, he pulled away from her. What was he doing right now? Did he get so carried away that he actually went close to her and touched her face? He shook his head and closed his eyes trying to remind himself that she is not her. She is not the person that he is looking for. She is not April at all! Just because she looks like her when she is sleeping doesn't mean that she is her right? And besides, she already confirmed it herself. She isn't her. Why does he keep seeing that girl's face when he looks at Joanna?
Allen on her part was still shocked. She was still trying to figure out what had just happened. This person, he was trying to get close to her just now right? She instantly looked down at her clothes and she saw that it was still intact, she breathed in relief. Then she turned to glare at him sharply. What was he trying to do just now? Was he trying to take advantage of her? After the way he had treated her earlier he comes back and tried to take advantage of her? "You, what were you trying to do?" Allen asked.
Raymond looked at the woman in front of him. She was already sitting up on the couch now. She had such a funny expression on her face that he was tempted to burst out laughing. What did she mean by what he was trying to do? They definitely talked about this! He definitely won't try to take advantage of a woman like her! "What do you mean by what I want to do? I don't want to do anything with you!" Raymond said. Somehow, seeing that piercing look on her face made him feel like he had done something wrong to her.
Allen looked at him. No matter how much she thought about it, she felt like he was trying to take advantage of her just now before she woke up! He was caressing her face, who knows what else he would have done to her if she had not woken up?! She isn't the real Joanna at all! Even though they are married there is no way that she can let him do something like that to her! "You, let me tell you this. Just because we are married now doesn't mean that I'm going to let you take advantage of me!" Allen said.
Raymond felt like coughing up blood! Take advantage of her?! Why would he do that? This was the first time someone was accusing him of something so outrageous! What is she talking about? Did she already forget about the terms of thier marriage? Or could this be one of her tricks? "What?! Take advantage of you? Why would I want to do that? I don't want to have anything to do with you at all! Stop getting ahead of yourself Joanna. Did you already forget about the terms of your marriage?!" Raymond could not stop himself from yelling. How is she able to make him so angry?
Allen looked at him. She did not believe anything that he was saying at all! He wasn't trying to take advantage of her? But he was clearly touching her face when she opened her eyes! He has been acting all indifferent to her ever since they met and now this is the first thing that he does? Why is he such a pervert? The more time she spent with this person, the more she could see the reason why Joanna ran away. Who would want to spend the rest of thier life married to such a person?
However something that he had said got her thinking. What did he mean by did she already forget the terms of the marriage? What terms of marriage did he have with Joanna? She suddenly remembered something that Paul had told her. Joanna's family forced her to get married to Raymond because of thier company. Could this be the terms that he was talking about? Or is it something else? "Anyway, no matter what, I won't let you take advantage of me just because you want to!" Allen declared self righteously.
Raymond felt like coughing up blood! Take advantage of her?! Why would he do that? This was the first time someone was accusing him of something so outrageous! What is she talking about? Did she already forget about the terms of thier marriage? Or could this be one of her tricks? He really felt like facepalming himself. What did he do to be stuck with this kind of woman? He already told her that he did not have such thoughts and yet she.. besides, wasn't she so happy to marry him before? Why is she suddenly being all self righteous?
Anyway, the both of them already concluded that they are only going to be married for six months and after that the both of them will be free to do whatever she wants. It seems like he will have to remind her of this so that she can stop getting ahead of herself. "Stop getting ahead of yourself Joanna. I don't want to have anything to do with you ever! We already agreed that this marriage is just for a show. In six months time we will get a divorce and we will go our separate ways. Don't ever forget that!" Raymond said.
Allen stopped for a moment. What is he talking about? He and Joanna, the both if them were not supposed to be really married before?! But why wasn't she told this? Paul and Lena probably did not know about this either! The both of them obviously thought that she was really getting married to Raymond! But he just said that it's for show and the both of them are not really married, what really is going on here? She badly wanted to have answers. Why did Joanna keep this from people close to her? And if she wasn't really going to get married, why did she run away? "Of course, I remember" was the only thing that she could say.
Raymond saw that there was disáppointed written all over her face. What was she thinking? And what was she expecting? It seems like he will have to be really firm. So she doesn't get any ideas and start clinging on to him. "Don't get your hopes up Joanna. I'll never fall in love with you. Never!" He said. His voice was so cold that it send shivers down her spine.
Allen looked up at the man. There was suddenly a cold and indifferent look on his face. That look scared her out of her wits. What does he mean by he won't ever fall in love with her? He doesn't know that she isn't Joanna, how can he be sure that he won't fall in love with the woman that he married?
Gathering up whatever courage she had left she asked. "Why?"
Raymond glared at her. "Because you are not her" he said.
Allen felt her heart sink at once. Not her? Does he already know?
