Lena was surprised. She could not believe what she was hearing. So the rumours are true? She is going to get married to Raymond Walker?! She has been dating him? But if it is true why hasn't she ever mentioned him to her once? She is always with Joanna and she had never seen that person around her. She had never seen her talk about him once either. How is it that the both of them are dating and she did not know about it?
Lena was surprised. She could not believe what she was hearing. So the rumours are true? She is going to get married to Raymond Walker?! She has been dating him? But if it is true why hasn't she ever mentioned him to her once? She is always with Joanna and she had never seen that person around her. She had never seen her talk about him once either. How is it that the both of them are dating and she did not know about it? Even if no one else knew at least as her secretary she should know this much right? What is going on?
"What?! The rumours are really true? You and him have been dating and you are going to get married to him? How did something like this happen? I have never heard you talk about him before. What is going on Joanna? I've never seen him before. What is going on?" Lena asked. Normally, she would never say these words to Joanna. She was still very afraid of her after all! But she was so surprised that she had to ask what is going on.
Joanna glared at Lena. What is she trying to say? Does she think that she is lying?! Since she has never talked about him and she had never seen him before does it mean that she is lying?! Joanna knew that she was lying. She only got to know him a few days ago and now she is getting married to him, of course she was lying about them getting married, but someone like Lena should not be pointing it out to her! She is going to get married to Raymond Walker and that is the only thing that matters right now! Whether she is lying or not does not matter anymore!
"What nonsense are you talking about Lena? Do you think that I am lying right now? Is that what you are trying to say? Since I've never talked about him and you have never seen him before then does it mean that I am lying? Why should I talk about my boyfriend to you? And why should I let him see you? Do you think that the CEO of Helian Group is someone that you can see just because you know me? Don't forget that you are working for me!" Joanna said. It was obvious that she was looking down on Lena. She did not think much of her.
Lena was hurt. She was already used to this attitude of Joanna. She was always looking down on her and Making her feel as if she was nothing. But her words this time really hurt her. Lena decided not to dwell on it. It wasn't as if she would be able to protest anyway. She should just focus on what is important to her. Is Joanna going to quit her job as an actress? Once she quits she won't have a job anymore. She did not want that to happen to her. She still wanted her job.
"Joanna, what is going to happen when you get married? I mean it's a good thing that you are getting married to Raymond Walker. I think that the both of you are a perfect match for each other. But are you going to quit being a celebrity for your marriage? You've already come this far and you are at the peak of your career right now. I just think that you should take things easy. Even if you get married you can still be an actress right? Lena asked. It wasn't as if she cared. She did not care at all. She would be relieved. But she did not want to lose her job. She still had to make a living. Maybe it was because of her attitude, she paid much more than anyone.
Joanna looked at Lena. Is she really going to quit her job as an actress? She knew that the reason why John wanted her to get married to his grandson because he thought that she was an independent woman. Despite what her family had done to her she still held on to her life and was able to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She knew that that man really valued that fact. If she quit now, then she would be making it seem like she was those other women. She was going to hold on to her acting untill she makes him fall in love with her. Then when that happens, she will leave the entertainment circle using the excuse that she wants to be a good wife to her husband. "Don't worry I don't want to leave the entertainment circle just yet. Don't worry about your job just yet. You can still keep it" Joanna said. Of course she was not stupid. She knew the reason why Lena was asking. She really was just worried about her job, not her. She knew that Lena did not like her.
Lena sighed. At least she can keep the job.
Fred was getting ready to go to work that morning when he saw the news. Joanna and Raymond were getting married. He did not really think that they were going to make it public! Why he did not think that it was going to happen anytime soon! How are the both of them getting married? And last night his father had told him that Raymond did not seem to like Joanna very much. That was why she was angry. So how did things change? The both of them are suddenly getting married now? And Joanna did not even tell them about it. That girl is really starting to look down on them!
And just what nonsense is the article talking about? The both of them have been dating for some time now and they did not make it public because of Joanna's career? Just what is the meaning of this? They are the ones who told Joanna about the marriage! She did not even know Raymond Walker before this so how can they be getting married? How did she even get Raymond to publish this outrageous news? He always knew that Joanna had lots of tricks up her sleeves but the fact that she is able to get Raymond Walker to do something like this really shocked him!
He was at least happy that they were going to get married soon. At least his company would be saved earlier that he thought but he still felt angry that his so called cousin was ignoring them and looking down on them. For the past eleven years they have given her a house. She would have long died if his family did not take her in and provide for her! So how can she treat them now like they did not matter? She did not even think about calling them to yell them about this. What does she think that she is doing? Does she think that she can do whatever she wants now?
Fred went downstairs and luckily enough, his parents were there. They were both having breakfast. Fred went to complain to his father immediately. Joanna, she is just too much! How can she be so inconsiderate? They are still her family after all! "Dad, have you seen the news this morning? It says that Joanna and Raymond are getting married soon! It even said that the both of them have been going out for quite some time now and that they kept it secret because of Joanna's career! Can you even believe this? What is going on?" Fred asked.
Vivian looked up immediately. What? Raymond and Joanna are getting married? Just how did something like this happen? What is going on here? She had a talk with her husband last night and he seemed really worried. Raymond did not seem to like her very much. If that marriage did not happen then there will be no way for them to save the company. But Vivian did not care! In fact she was very happy. As far as she was concerned, a woman like Joanna did not deserve such a man! Only her daughter Lydia is good enough for him.
She was already planning on how she was going to convince Lydia to come back and get married to Raymond Walker instead! But now what? The both of them are going to get married? She looked from her husband to her son. How did things change in just one night? What is going on? "What is going on? Fred what happened? Peter, did you not say yesterday that Raymond did not seem to like Joanna very much? How come the both of them are going to get married now? What is going on?" Vivian asked. She was already burning with anger and jealousy. This Joanna is just like her mother! Acting all innocent but the only thing they knew how to do was seduce men!
Fred was a little relived that he has his mother on his side. He still could not understand what happened. He had seen the angry look that was on Joanna's face. She even lost her temper in front of the hospital and called him an idiot! He knew exactly what Joanna was like. She could act like she was a gentle woman in public but in reality she was a devious person. But no matter what, she won't lose her temper and yell in public. If she was like that, it was probably she got rejected and she did not know who to take out her anger now. That was what must have happened.
So how did things change that she was getting married to that man now?! And she did not even tell them about it! She totally ignored them like they did not matter. At least for the past eleven years they have been her family! Fred had the same thoughts as his mother. Lydia should be the one getting married! He should not just be the cousin of Raymond's wife but his brother in law! "Mom I don't understand what happened. Just what trick did Joanna play this time? Is she threatening him with something? And she did not even think about telling us about it! She is looking down on us all!" Fred continued to complain.
Peter however did not say anything yet. He was thinking. Something must have happened last night for the both of them to be getting married now. It was just as Fred had said. Did Joanna perhaps know something about him and she was threatening Raymond with it? He won't put something like that past Joanna. She really is a cunning and calculating woman and she can definitely do that without bating an eyelid. He was sure that she got rejected yesterday. Her attitude was enough proof. Otherwise she won't lose her temper with them like that in public.
But whether she has something on him or not, the fact that this marriage was happening right now is probably a good thing for them. Thier company could be saved now. The only thing that he was worried about was that it won't be so easy for them to get her out of the marriage if she really is threatening Raymond. He would have to find out what happened between the both of them last night. But for now, he would play along and get the benefits of the marriage. "Maybe it's a good thing. Our company can be saved earlier. Please understand it". Peter said.
