Chapter130

Paul was convinced now. The woman sitting in front of him is Joanna. She really is Joanna. Joanna has come back.
But what has she been doing in the past months? Why did she disappear without saying a word? What really happened to her? He had so many questions that he wanted to ask her.
"What happened to you Joanna? After that day when we ate at that restaurant, I didn't see you. Lena said that you went missing...we tried to look for you but there was nothing. What really happened?" Paul asked. He had so many questions. Like why did she lead him to believe that she did not want to marry Raymond and that she ran away but he could only come up with these questions right now. He would have lots of time to ask right? Since she was back now.
"A lot of things have happened to me Paul. I did not want to make you guys worry about me but I was in an accident. I was going home when I had an accident. I only woke up about a month ago and I was receiving treatment. Immediately I got better I called you. I'm really sorry for making you worry" Joanna said.
Immediately Paul heard her say that she was in an accident, all the resentment that she was feeling faded away. It turns out that she had been through a lot in the time that she was away. She was in an accident and she only woke up about a month ago...how hard must it have been for her? He was feeling really terrible for her. He even felt even terrible thinking that he had doubted her for nothing.
Paul had sudden forgotten that although she was in accident, she had led him to believe that she did not want to get married to Raymond when she wanted to marry him. There was no excuse for that. She lied to him. But Paul did not remember that at all.
"You were in an accident...how did you get hurt? Are you okay now?" Paul asked. He was so worried about her.
Joanna shook her head. She really did not know how it happened. She only heard bits of the story from her "parents". They had found a car in a tunnel. It seemed like an accident scene. They wanted to help and they found out that it was thier daughter.
"I really don't know what happened really. I only remember driving into the tunnel and then seeing a bright flash of light...when I woke up, I was in the hospital... thankfully some people saved my life. Otherwise, what would I have done?" Joanna asked. She was going to tell him about her new found parents later. She had to let the information sink into him one after the other.
Paul sighed. It seems she was lucky. If not for those people, then what would have happened to Joanna? Would they have lost her like that? Just thinking about that possiblity made him shudder. He really did not want to think about it.
"That's great" was the only thing that Paul could say. All the questions that he wanted to ask her when he found her vapourated into thin air.
"Of course it is! Paul...how has things been going? Raymond...does he know that I'm missing?" Joanna asked. She thought that her question was pretty unreasonable. She went missing a day before they were supposed to get married. Of course he would know that something was wrong.
But she just wanted to ask.
Paul sighed. He was going to tell her that he did not know but then he remembered that he already found out that Allen isn't Joanna. He had to come clean now.
"He already knows that you are missing" Paul said..
Joanna sighed. Since Raymond knows, then what about her career? The drama that she was filming? Joanna knew that for a female star, she can't just disappear without saying anything. It was going to make people forget about her. She probably won't have a footing in the entertainment industry now that she is back. She might have to start all over again. Just thinking about it made her scared. Whatever, if she could not do it she would just give up. After all, she was going to marry Raymond one way or another. She won't need to worry about the entertainment industry then. It was a good plan.
"If Raymond knows then the media knows too? About the drama I was filming...what happened to it?" Joanna asked. She still had to pretend to care in front of Paul.
Paul sighed. This is it. Joanna needs to find out about Allen now.
"Well about that....you don't need to worry. No one else besides Lena, Raymond and I know that you are missing. The media doesn't know ..the drama it's doing well..." Paul said.
Joanna was confused. No one knows? The drama is doing well? How is that possible? She has not showed up for at least four months now. How can people not know that she is missing?
"What? How come they don't know? What happened? I have been gone for four months now!" Joanna said. Is she not that important that they woke notice when she is gone? That isn't possible at all. What has happened in the months that she has been away?
"Calm down Joanna. Actually, when you first went missing, I thought that you ran away because you did not want to get married. You kept complaining about how your family and that man Raymond was forcing you to get married to him and so I thought that you just ran away because you could not deal with it anymore. I really didn't know that you got into an accident" Paul said.
Joanna held her fists tightly together. She ran away? What sort of absurdity is this? Why will she run away from marrying Raymond Walker? It's all she ever wanted to do! Joanna remembered telling Paul that she was forced into it. She regretted it all of a sudden. Why did she do that?
She turned to look at Paul. It did not make sense. If he thought that she ran away that's fine. What has it got to do with people not finding out that she is missing?
"I still don't understand. What has this got to do with people not finding out that I'm missing? I don't understand it at all" Joanna said.
Paul gulped before he started talking again. "Well, I found someone to pretend to be you" Paul said.
"What?!!" Joanna was blown away by this information. He found someone to pretend to be her? How is that possible?
Wait, if he found someone to pretend to be her then that person would have to look completely like her. The timing didn't make sense. It would take about a year for someone to get a full plastic surgery to look like her. Then that person would have to recover. What is going on here?
"Wait....how is this possible? You found someone to pretend to be me? How is it even possible?" Joanna asked Paul.
