Chapter 73
Rita had come to the hospital as soon as she heard that Lola had woken up. She thought that Allen would be too busy with whatever she was doing playing the life of another person that she won't be able to come. Actually, Rita did not blame Allen one bit. She was actually happy to be able to do this to help her. After all, she is the one who has to give up six months of her life to make sure that her grandmother would be able to get treatment and that the both of them would be able to live a fairly good life after it was all over. She was definitely doing a lot and sacrificing a lot here.
As Rita approached the room, she heard the both of them talking....
Now Allen was starting to get frustrated. She really did not want to tell her grandmother that she was playing the role of another person. She did not want her to know that about her. She would feel really guilty if she finds out that she is pretending to be another person just so that she could get treatment. "Grandmother, don't you trust me? Do you really think that I'm going to do something indecent? You've rasied me for so long. Don't you know the granddaughter you raised? Am I such a person?" She asked.
This worked on her grandmother perfectly. She knew Allen well. She knew just how much of a good girl she is. She definitely won't do something like that. It was just that she was worried because she knew what thier situation was like. Well, since she says that she should not worry she is not going to worry then. Her granddaughter is going to take care of everything. There is no need for her to bother herself. "No Allen, I know that you are a good girl and I know that you won't do bad things. I was just worried but since you say that you got a job, it's fine then" Lola said.
[2/22, 7:58 PM] Sonia: Allen sighed in relief. Her outburst really worked on her. Now she won't continue to ask her where she got the money from. Allen felt like she would have broken down and told her everything if her grandmother had continued to question her like this. "You don't have to worry about anything grandmother. From now on, I'm going to take care of everything by myself. Don't worry, my new job pays me really well" Allen said. Once she is done with this in six months time, they would finally be able to live a good life. They won't need to suffer so much anymore.
Rita stood outside the door thinking about the conversation that she had just heard. She had already figured out that Allen is keeping the fact that she is pretending to be someone else from her grandmother. Well, she totally agreed with Allen on that. If Lola knows that Allen is doing something like that for her sake, so that she could get treatment, she won't be happy at all. She was going to feel a whole lot of guilt and it was going to affect her.
Rita was suddenly reminded of that physopath Ryan. She was caught in a dilemma. Should she tell Allen? But he said that he will go look for her if she tells him. Rita shook her head. Either way, she knew that that physopath will go looking for Allen anyway. Rita made up her mind
Rita and Allen were sitting outside the hospital room on a bench. Rita was fidgeting. She had already made up her mind that she was going to tell Allen about Ryan coming back but now that she was facing her, she really did not know what to say. The truth was, she was really scared. She knew that Ryan isn't someone who listened or did things like other people. What if he really goes to cause a scene ? What if Raymond Walker finds out that Allen is not Joanna? What is going to happen to her then?
Allen looked at Rita and saw that she was already shaking. What is going on with her? She had come to her grandmother's room and whispered to her that she had something that she wanted to talk to her about on her own. Looking at her now, Allen could already tell that it was very serious. What could it be? What does Rita want to tell her? And why is she so scared? "What is going on Rita? You said that you have something really important that you want to say to me. What could it be? What do you want to talk to me about?" Allen asked.
Rita looked at her. She sighed and made up her mind. She was just going to tell her. Anyway, Ryan won't stay away from her. He is going to come meet her sooner or later. There is no way that she can avoid it. It was always best to be prepared for any scenarios. "Allen, I have something to tell you. Listen to me first and don't panic. Ryan....he came back. He was here to see me a few days ago" Rita said and stoped. She allowed for that information to pass through Allen before she continued. She did not want to dump everything down on her all at once.
Allen was beyond shocked. She tried to calm herself down and figure out what was going on. Ryan is back? That Ryan really came back? And he even came to see Rita? What does he want? Allen wasn't surprised or bothered that he came back. After all, it had nothing to do with her anymore and he could do whatever he wanted. But why did he come to see Rita? She thought of the things that had happened five years ago that day. Because of him, her grandmother got sick. And he...he just left...like it had nothing to do with him. "He came to see you? What did he say?" Allen asked.
