Chapter 72
"You don't have to worry about that grandfather. I am the one who married Joanna and no matter what, I'm going to make sure that I'm responsible for her till the end. You don't have to worry about it. Concerning Ryan, I'm going to keep an eye on him and make sure that he doesn't get to any of our family members this time. Whether you or Joanna" he did not know that he had already started to think of her as family. Well, even if the both of them were in a contact marriage, at least, Raymond is a man who knows how to take responsibility. He won't let someone get hurt because of him.
John shook his head. He had noticed that Raymond had stated to care about Joanna a little bit more. It seemed that he did not make a bad decision by forcing him to get married in the first place he is doing all of this for him and he is going to thank him in the end. Besides that, he really could not stay in the hospital anymore. He wanted to leave. "Raymond I already told you that I'm fine. Even if Ryan did not come back, I really don't have to stay here anymore. I want to leave the hospital. I'm already fine" John said.
Raymond looked at his grandfather. Isn't this the man who was so sick then that he was on the verge of death? How did things change so much that he was so eager to go home? He suddenly thought of something. He did not get played by this old man right?! "Grandfather, just some weeks ago you were so sick that you were dying. The doctors said that you did not have much time left to live, but now you are suddenly so well that you want to leave the hospital so badly, you did not lie to me about being sick in the beginning right?" Raymond asked. If it turns out that he was tricked to get married then......
John's heart sank to his stomach when he heard that. He did not want his lie to be discovered by Raymond. He should have known that he would be suspicious when he kept asking to leave. He really did not want him to know that he lied to him just to get him married. Even if he doesn't do anything to him there is no guarantee that he won't take out his anger on Joanna. She should not suffer because of his tricks. And so, even if he did not want to, even if he badly wanted to leave the hospital and held Raymond deal with that Ryan, he knew that he had to suck it up and stay here if he did not want to be discovered to be lying.
"No! Of course I was sick! Why would I lie to you about something like that? Do I look like someone who is going to use his health to threaten you to get married? I was really sick and I've been getting better slowly these days. I was just really worried about Ryan and I wanted to help you deal with him" John said. He quickly dumped everything on Ryan.
Grandfather, I already know that Ryan is back. And I know why you are worried because of him! But we can't let him get to us. Moreover we can't let your health be affected because of him. You don't have to worry. I'm going to take care of him and I'm going to make sure that he won't be causing my more problems for us. You don't have to worry about that" Raymond said.
