Chapter 104 The Excited White Dragon Mother
When the elegant and beautiful figure of the adult silver dragon appeared in Brian's mind, he did not immediately decide to set off.
The main reason was that Brian was not in a hurry.
Whatever was connected to the other end of the Red Flame Staff, it was not something that required his immediate attention.
After this period of growth through slumber, Brian found himself becoming more indifferent to many things.
Wanting to figure out what was on the other side was merely a slight curiosity, not an urgent one.
Brian closed his eyes slightly, dispelling Luna's silver-white figure from his mind. Instead, pages of books began to slowly turn in his mind, filled with numerous spell models, all of which were fireball spells.
The main difference between them lay in the complexity of the models. The most complex Nine-Level Spell required runes as dense as river sand, numerous and varied like the stars.
Constructing high-level spell models was akin to creating a skyscraper out of thin air in one's mind. From the materials used to every piece of steel and every basic facility inside, everything had to be vividly imagined.
Without sufficient mental power, high-level spell models were out of the question.
Before using the Dragon Soul Stone, Brian's mental power was only enough to master four-ring spells. Multiple attempts to inscribe five-ring spell models had all failed.
Although elemental energy favored him greatly, without adequate mental power to construct spell models, even if the elemental energy worshipped Brian like a god, it would be useless. It mainly depended on his own abilities.
Brian recalled the various details about the five-ring magma fireball from Morton's notes—the runes, the embellishments of the base spell, the turns of the mental pathways...
He concentrated and began to inscribe the magma fireball spell model in his consciousness.
In such a state of focused mental concentration, time always passed quickly.
It seemed like just a blink of an eye, and half a day had gone by.
And Brian had not yet fully succeeded.
It wasn't that his mental power was insufficient, but his proficiency was lacking. He couldn't inscribe the spell model perfectly in one go; there were always small issues, like a rune being slightly off, causing the entire spell model to fail and requiring him to start over.
"Among the five-ring spells, the number of runes and the complexity of the magma fireball model are much higher than those of the Thunderstorm spell."
Brian opened his eyes, pondering the experiences and gains of the past half-day.
Spells were never easy to learn.
In their inception, they were miracles that could only be performed under extremely rare coincidences, with no regular patterns.
With the research and refinement by successive spellcasters, spells gradually became forces that could be exhibited through fixed methods, turning unpredictable spells into rigorous knowledge.
Only wise and intelligent beings could understand the brilliance of spells and become spellcasters.
For zero-ring cantrips, Brian could inscribe the corresponding spell models almost instantly with just a glance. However, as the spell rings increased, inscribing spell models in his consciousness required more focus and seriousness, without any distraction.
It was not unusual for a spellcaster to spend a year or more mastering a single spell.
Brian withdrew from his focused state because he felt hungry.
His enormous dragon body increased his appetite, requiring him to consume at least two to three times his body weight in food to sustain a week's activities.
Slowly walking to the edge of the Dragon's Lair, Brian looked down, taking in the entire view of the Ice Cliff Territory.
Due to the battle with the human army, the number of his minions in his field of vision had significantly decreased.
Although White Hounds and Terror Lizards had bred some new offspring over the past five months, they were not yet adults and couldn't be considered combat-ready. They even required some effort to care for and nurture.
The number of adult Arctic Ice Spirits had also decreased, resulting in a smaller hunting team.
However, due to the Arctic Ice Spirits following Brian's instructions and attempting to domesticate some of the more docile beasts on the northern Ice Field, they had achieved some success during Brian's five-month slumber. This was enough to make up for the deficiencies in the hunting team, and the efficiency was even higher.
The only downside was a slight drop in quality.
Currently, the only high-quality food sources for Brian were the ferocious frost tigers, and soon, the Winter Wolves of the Wolfheart Clan would be added to the list.
