Chapter: 169 More is a Good Thing
Brian glanced at the lava pool, then turned to look at the red dragon. After pretending to ponder for a few seconds, he said, "The temperature of this lava pool is indeed something that few creatures can withstand."
The red dragon snorted arrogantly, "As long as you know. Bathing in lava is an exclusive activity for us red dragons. Don't even think about it."
On the other side, Brian smiled faintly and then stared at the proud red dragon, changing his tone, "However, I think I can bathe in lava just like you red dragons without getting hurt."
The red dragon was slightly taken aback, then burst into uncontrollable laughter, its body shaking with mirth.
After laughing for a good ten seconds under Brian's calm gaze, it finally sneered disdainfully, "Really? I don't believe it. Unless you do it right now in front of me."
Seeing the bait taken, Brian grinned.
"Since you're so confident, how about we make a bet? If I can stay in the lava pool for a long time, you will serve me for a hundred years."
"On the other hand, you won't have to hand over the treasures of the Mocha Principality, and I'll give you an additional ten thousand gold coins."
Hearing Brian's words, the red dragon was stunned for a moment, then laughed again, raising its head proudly, "You want me to serve you? Dream on."
"I'll take those ten thousand gold coins in advance."
Brian nodded and said, "Then, under the witness of the Immortal Dragon Queen, we make this bet."
The red dragon opened its mouth to agree but then seemed to think of something. Suddenly, it looked at Brian warily and glared at him, "I almost fell for your trick."
Brian frowned slightly and provoked the red dragon, "Are you scared?"
The red dragon ground its fangs, puffed out its chest, and said in a deep voice, "The great Ashen Wing fears nothing!"
After a brief pause, it looked at Brian with a nasty expression, "I'll bet with you, but on the condition that you don't use any form of external force, including spell-like abilities or magical means. You can only rely on your physical body to enter the lava pool."
So it was afraid of me using tricks... Brian understood what the red dragon meant by almost falling for it.
Although the red dragon was arrogant, it was indeed much smarter. If it were the White Dragon Mother, she probably wouldn't have thought of this.
But Brian had no intention of using protective spells in the first place. His own elemental resistance was already sufficient.
The high temperature at the center of a fireball spell is over a thousand degrees, not lower than the temperature of natural lava.
Before using the Dragon Soul Stone, Brian had burned himself with fireball spells without feeling any significant burning pain. After the substantial growth from using the Dragon Soul Stone, he had even less to worry about with this temperature.
"No problem, I won't use spells."
Brian simply agreed to the red dragon's request.
Immediately, the two made the bet.
The red dragon looked at Brian, sticking out its scarlet tongue to lick its lips, "Get ready with those gold coins; they're all mine!"
Brian shook his head slightly, ignoring the confident red dragon.
As the most powerful of the five-colored Evil Dragons, almost all red dragons had a self-confidence that bordered on arrogance and conceit. This red dragon was no exception. It was convinced that Brian couldn't withstand the high temperature of the lava. Although the challenge hadn't even started, it already thought it had won.
This inexplicable confidence was rooted in the minds of all red dragons and was their most distinctive feature.
Brian turned to look at the lava pool, moving his limbs and stepping closer.
As he got closer, he could smell the stronger sulfuric odor. A large amount of white hot steam swirled above the lava pool, while below was the bright and dangerous rolling magma.
If an ordinary creature accidentally fell into the lava pool, it would instantly ignite into a torch and then turn to ashes, sinking into it.
"Are you scared?"
"The bet has been made. Unless you're not afraid of the Dragon Queen's curse and falling into hell after death, it's too late to regret it now. Haha, just hand over the gold coins to me."
The red dragon saw Brian approaching and examining the lava pool, thinking that Brian was afraid, and couldn't help but mock him.
