Chapter 63 Simulation
Brian's gaze was wary, his face calm yet solemn.
Even from a great distance, he could feel the destructive power. The glaring red Elemental Super magic became the most prominent color in Brian's vision.
Someone was casting High-level magic over there.
The astonishing elemental energy gathered and surged like a tidal wave.
"A high-level spellcaster has arrived in the northern ice field and used powerful High-level magic."
As his mind raced, Brian ignored the Arctic Ice Spirits and Dire Bear hatchlings. Flapping his dragon wings and soaring into the sky, he flew to a height of a thousand feet to observe the area of elemental disturbance more closely.
The brilliance of the magic completely overshadowed the already faint starlight and moonlight.
The dark night sky was covered with a layer of fiery clouds.
Amidst the red aura of super magic, a ball of red light, which appeared to be only the size of a barrel but was exceptionally bright, slowly rose and then exploded violently without hesitation.
Hot winds rolled, flames surged, and large swathes of clouds were blasted apart, forming a mushroom cloud of rolling flames.
Upon seeing the explosion, Brian was as surprised as if he heard a deafening blast.
He didn't actually hear it, but the surrounding elemental energy trembled at that moment, especially the fire element, which almost boiled over, forming faint ripples in the air that Brian felt due to his keen elemental perception.
The ball of red light seemed small, but Brian was far from the casting site.
In reality, it might have been a super-giant fireball with a diameter of several hundred feet...
Brian remained vigilant and fully focused, watching intently.
Shortly after this unknown High-level magic was cast, a wave of hot wind rolled in, sweeping over the Ice Cliff territory and extending further back.
The hot wind had no lethality due to the long distance. It didn't even melt the ice and snow.
However, it spread so far that it demonstrated its formidable power.
The flame mushroom cloud rolled and surged for over ten minutes, and the violent energy gradually subsided, taking more than half an hour to dissipate into the air.
"It seems to be a high-level evocation flame magic... such formidable power."
Brian took a breath of the hot wind, a clear look of apprehension in his eyes.
High-level evocation magic's power was comparable to strategic missiles, capable of affecting areas within a thousand or even ten thousand feet. That red ball of light was undoubtedly High-level magic.
If he had been at the epicenter, Brian doubted he could withstand it.
His magic immunity was strong, but he was so young that his abilities were limited.
Lower-tier magic would have no effect on him. Mid-tier magic could shatter his scales and injure his flesh, and High-level magic could be fatal.
Brian's desire for a broader world was tempered by his reluctance to leave the northern ice field due to fear of such powerful forces.
Compared to adult True Dragons, who mainly relied on their bodies in combat, high-level mages had a multitude of methods, capable of terrifying destruction if adequately prepared.
He sighed. "Although it's certainly not aimed at me, it's best to lay low for now. If I encounter the caster of this magic, I could be in danger."
Brian's eyes flickered. After warning his subordinates not to go out casually, he flew toward the Ice River territory.
The least conspicuous hiding place was still the riverbed Dragon's Lair in the small ice river.
This was the advantage of having multiple Dragon's Lairs, allowing him to hide in case of emergencies.
Both the Ice Cliff Dragon's Lair and the Ogre Basin were too obvious, easily attracting prying eyes. As high-tier forces, high-level spellcasters didn't fear adult dragons.
As he flew, Brian pondered how he would deal with such a high-level enemy.
Acceleration State? If he detected the danger from a distance, he might escape with five times the speed.
If the distance were closer, it would be fatal.
As for Plunder Time Breath, its power depended mainly on Brian's age. Although it had the special effect of aging the opponent, its actual power wasn't very strong.
Of course, if the opponent were already old, a blast from Plunder Time Breath could likely kill them instantly.
The most potent ability, Time Stop... if the opponent wasn't vigilant and allowed a dragon to get within twenty feet, Brian would dare to take on even a legendary mage.
"If I encounter such a high-level enemy now and use Time Dragon Revert to seek help from my future self, the future me would probably agree."
Brian knew himself well.
Though not generous, if his past self faced a life-and-death crisis and sought help from his present self, he wouldn't hesitate to assist if he could, even at a high cost.
Brian couldn't bear to watch himself die.
Moreover, he had a vague feeling that his past and future selves from different timelines were crucial and inseparable to him.
"But in any case, I can't always rely on my future self for help. The power borrowed through Time Dragon Revert isn't free; it has to be repaid."
Brian took several deep breaths, calming his slightly agitated mind.
He moved his tongue, feeling the silky touch of the magic scroll beneath it.
Seventh-level Evocation magic: Raging Fang Vortex...
Seeing High-level magic firsthand, Brian realized he might have underestimated the power of this magic scroll. Even if it wasn't as renowned as the most famous flame evocation magic, it wouldn't be too far off.
The only regret was that he didn't know the exact effect of the Raging Fang Vortex.
The magic scroll didn't come with instructions, and there was only one, so he couldn't test it.
Brian felt the magic scroll in his mouth, a sharp and dangerous look flashing in his platinum-colored dragon eyes.
"If I encounter such a troublesome person, I'll first try to lure them closer with Magic Catalyst. If I successfully use Time Stop, then with Plunder Time Breath and this Raging Fang Vortex scroll..."
Brian silently thought, simulating possible battle scenarios.
Direct confrontation was difficult, but if the opponent was slightly careless and he succeeded with Time Stop, there was a high probability of victory.
Before long, Brian saw the familiar small ice river.
He immediately descended, becoming a white arc, splashing into the river with a plop before disappearing beneath the ice.
The few remaining Ice River Sharks, seeing this demon dragon return, fled in terror, scrambling in panic.
Brian ignored these tasty treats, heading straight back to the riverbed Dragon's Lair, which was somewhat cramped for him.
He then closed his eyes, adjusted his breathing and slowly fell asleep.
A sleeping dragon's aura would be almost entirely retracted, making it nearly impossible to detect their presence without direct sight.
Thus, Brian planned to sleep to avoid danger.
